My uncle owns a decent house on an acre lot, but will live most of the year on the road in a small camper traveling around the US hanging out with other nomads. He retired as the deputy chief of police so he collects a nice pension/retirement. He just enjoys meeting new people and not feeling tied down anywhere.
I think a camper/camper van is different than a car though lol. I understand being a nomad but I've lived in a 96 Toyota camry and I would do anything to avoid doing that again.

The others finally settled down and bought houses, but by choice lived out of their cars for a time. I understand that the majority of people that live in their cars have no other choice, but it’s more common nowadays for people to just hit the road and live like a nomad.
