    Bear in mind that what we know about Sparta seldom comes from Spartans themselves, but others greeks. Exagerations are to be expected, in a way or another (what we perceive as terrible things might have been seen as positive at that time). Romans too had young men roaming the streets looking for slaves to kill, yet they had laws protecting said slaves.

    Not all Spartan soldiers were men. They had female Spartan soldiers too. They were not as common though.

      All Spartan women were trained in combat because they would be the last line of defense for Sparta, if the men were wiped out in war. Not really hidden, just gotta look lol

    I wonder a bit why a city of toughies spent nearly its entire existence as a simple village, with its peak of glory lasting at most a couple centuries.
    Might seed some doubt as to whether a Spartan regimen actually makes a society great.

    Have you heard about that ancient society that was 100% pacifist? They were able to hold hands, sing and just whatever. There were no rules or standards. Everyone was equal no matter how much they drained the society or contributed to it.

    Nope. Nope. Nope. I would not survive Sparta. No way, no how. My parents would have thrown me away as soon as I was a newborn. The deficiencies that I had when I was a baby wouldn't let me live during Spartan times.

I don't think I would've survive Ancient Sparta with all that I've been through. Spartans back in those days didn't like "weak" babies. I'm not blaming my parents for anything. I'm just responding to the video.
