    Congrats on the nice video!
    There is a very easy way in SailGrib WR to update the polars using the 2 efficiency parameters (under 10 knots and above 20 knots). Note that in between, the app interpolates efficiency linearly.
    For example, on my SunFast 3200 , I use in delivery mode 80% for the under 10 knots efficiency and 90% for above 20 knots. That means that for 15 knots, the app will interpolate the efficiency to 85%.
    In you example, simply taking the Swan 56 polar with both efficiencies at 80% should give you better routings.
    Keep up the nice job.
    Fair winds,
    Henri

      that's great info! I'll definitely give that a try on my next passage.
      Nice job on the new user interface as well. Though I'll have to re-shoot some bits of my next SailGrib WR video (;

    Congratulations for a well presented video. I just downloaded the free version on my Samsung Android. I'll pick up the paid version because after crossing the Pacific from Hawaii to California, it is the one who can navigate has a priceless skill.

    Brilliant video. I do most of my sailing in SE ASia (Thailand and Hong Kong) but planning to lots in the Mediterranean. Will definitely purchase Sailgrib WR which seems the best value for money out of all available Apps (some are ridiculously overpriced!) .

    I still don't understand and I'm still looking for help. I have looked at all of the I guess they're French videos but I still can't figure out how to open up a single grib. Ive paid for my sailgrib wr. It opens on my android tablet. But I do not have any of the currents or right hand menu that you have on your opening screen I cannot find them anywhere. I get some dumb but is there a video somewhere on the Internet that shows how to open this and operate it? I guess I need to be level 2 or 3 to understand what you're doing

      There is a new, more android-ey, SailGrib User Interface (UI) since I made this video.
      The quick menus that used to be on the lower right side of the screen are replaced with the "+" symbol in the very bottom right corner. I circled it. When you click the "+" a menu pops up center screen. Then you'll see the "request grib" option (also circled). The menus themselves haven't changed much since the latest top level UI changes.
      Visually, check out this screenshot: savvysalt.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/sailgrib-new-ui.jpg
      All the detailed options app and menu pop up when you click on the "=" (it's a triple equals with 3 parallel lines) in the upper left hand corner (just to the left of where it says "SailGrib WR").
      I hope this helps.

    hi, got a couple of questions:
    Q1: i have Sailgrib installed on my Samsung Tablet, and i would also like to have it on my samsung mobile phone. Do i have to pay again to do this or can it share across devices like in Navionics ?
    Q2: How do i save a bunch of routes from Navionics and load them in Sailgrib? (I tried copying many of them to the directory "Sailgrib/Route" but when I use the Load instruction it only lists the last route)
    many thanks

      Q1: You don't have to pay again.
      I've never tried to move routes between navionics and SailGrib so I'm not sure about Q2.

    Do you have any method to get weather data while sailing?

    • @SavvySalt
      @SavvySalt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have anything I bring with me. But most owners/skippers that head off shore have a system for getting weather offshore. Usually it's a weather router via satellite phone or satellite internet hooked into the boat/skippers weather routing equipment.
      I'm considering getting an iridium go for the coming delivery season: www.morganscloud.com/2016/03/15/iridium-go-review-6-myths-busted-and-a-purchase-recommendation/

      Ohh, and I do have a garmin inreach and I keep a group of sailing friends updated on my position via text. So if I'm heading into a hurricane or something they'll let me know...

    Is there a way to get the data out of the app and into my plotter?

    • @SavvySalt
      @SavvySalt  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not that I know of. Boat electronics that can have integrated polars and real time speed targets are very high end - I've seen them integrated with expedition on a PC or tablet but no other apps.

    • @Jim-ei2iv
      @Jim-ei2iv 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SavvySalt I have real time speed targets in my system, that's not what I was thinking. Does the wx routing generate a series of waypoints? That's what I want to get into my plotter.

    • @SavvySalt

      @@Jim-ei2iv there is not a way that I know of. Maybe ask Henri over at sailgrib: www.sailgrib.com/#contact - he's a super nice guy
