I bought my Fantom 6 few weeks ago and made at first my update to 3.0 and after some soundcheck Bbooommm i am in LOVE with my Fantom 6 :))) great Sounds and music production is so easy ! First i was looking to buy Yamaha Montage 6 and than i decided to buy Roland ! I hope that there will be some more cool updates for Fantom 6..great job to ROLAND...JUST KEEP IT 😉
Roland have always been so strong with this type of workstation keyboard. I still have a Fantom X and it still holds upto modem synths. Great video chaps

Dear Roland, please listen: you are still selling the FA workstation keyboards. Your paying customers have been waiting for years for a simple upgrade to let it multi-sample, and use it’s filters, and map our own samples across the keyboard. Even the Juno series does this now. Please finish the half baked software that you left inside the FA, and let us have this feature now. Thank you.
Better yet a newer FA with the DNA of the Fantom. Of course with some knobs removed and a dynamic knob that you can press in, but something up to date to rival the MODX and the other keyboard.

I’d love to see more about the online sound expansions. I used to have a fully loaded Fantom XR, and would love to see more about the expansions, from the JD/SRX ones to the new ones.
This is the only workstation with sampling that impresses me. I really hope they will increase the 2 gigs of keyboard sampling to whatever you have available.Other than that everything is perfect.
At this time the Fantom does not auto sample, but there are plenty of softwares available for that. I suggest using the Auto Sampler which is available in Apple Logic.

This is probably a stupid question, but I'm struggling with this: I have a sample recorded to one of my pads (it is a beat, so it is the tempo I want to use). How can I record another sample to another pad, but be able to hear my first sample while I record the second? This way, they are all the same tempo.
Can you edit and adjust the sample start point while playing another tone (so stay active in split mode while editing a sample)? A feature that the fantom x6 has that is super useful for analyzing samples.
Does Fantom 6 have RPS function which triggers sequencer patterns when the pads are pressed ? I didn't find it in the user manual. It was available on Fantom X & Fantom G.
I’m really interested in the Fantom. The sampling feature is of great interest to me. The amount of sampling time listed for the board though seems ambiguous. Sampling to the keyboard says 2’44” per sample. It has a separate listing of 60 minutes/660mb for sampling to the pads. It doesn’t say if that is a continuous record capability or if it’s 60 minutes, 2’44” at a time. I have need to play extended song files for special events during breaks. It would be great if I could sample a number of files 5 to 10 minutes in length and fire them off from the pads. Then I wouldn’t have to use an external device anymore. Anyone have any info that can clarify this spec? TIA.

You simply CAN'T launch a sampler functionality in 2020 that has less LOOP options than a equipment from 1991!!!!!!! And you still have to listen that the "Reverse Loop" is something incredible... in which Universe these guys are living?
No Juan. I think this is because the Fantom does not have a Sample Bank per Scene. It only has 256 locations divided up into 4 Banks with 16 locations. If you were to chop up samples then that space might be easily taken up.
I'm looking to replace my Akai S-950 sampler. The Fantom seems to display busy screens a lot, "processing" sample takes forever and how come the changing mono/stereo takes so long? That slowness is a turn-down when you are in a creative mood. My Akai from 1980's is instant. You did not demo loop editing. Does it even do cross-fade looping or ping-pong looping? Although nowadays there is a lot more memory than in the 80's I still want to stretch a short sound by looping. And are samples in the 2 GB memory immediately available when you turn on the Fantom or does it take a long time to load? My V-Synth is veery slow starting up, which I don't like.
Whether you add or remove samples, the startup time will always be 35-40 seconds. It's flash memory and not RAM. This video is just a feature overview and not a deep dive, plus Roland still need to add a few more functionalities overall for this board. No cross fade or ping-pong fade options yet. If you are looking for a dedicated sampler than go for the SP-404MKii or any of the MPC range from Akai. Fantom is not dedicated to sampling like those devices.
You were right when you said "lets talk sampling". Talk talk talk - how about showing how the sound Jack sampled from the SE-02 could be shaped? Great talking but not very interesting. Patting ourselves on the back for a great Roland product (which it is) but how about letting the product speak for itself? Not very informative.

That's why I feel comfortable doing the vids for Andertons, non of the staff work on commission so if you phone up it's in their interest to sell you the right thing more than just the newest most expensive thing! So... Can it not detect the pitch of a sample? What if we want to sample a door squeek and play it on the keyboard?
