Please make it easier to chop samples and add the slices to the same sample map. For the entire sample including slices, please add real-time time stretch (auto-bpm match) and real-time pitch shifting that doesn't change the length of the sample when playing up and down the keyboard. You ever heard of the V Synth/XT/GT? :) Thanks!

@@ther3volver I'm after the same thing. I owned the Fantom G (circa 2009) and it could do this so I was expecting the last Fantom 15 years later to do as well, but after reviewing all the docs I'm pretty sure they don't. Such a shame, considering it is mostly a software thing.
Those engineers are not there anymore or they just trying to make you buy more gear
I’ve listened back to the answer for my sample volume question and want to thank you guys again for the comprehensive answer. Think I’ll sort my samples in Ableton and then import to the keyboard. I think the thing I was missing was to adjust the level after the normalise.

Does the new Fantom have skip back sampling?
Does Fantom transpose the sample by slowing and speeding up the sample, or does it transpose the sample the way that it plays the sample with same speed in every pitch like V-Synth GT does? Ideal would be both options, coz' it could make possible to handle the samples different ways. For example, slowing down high pitch sample gives a different character to the sample, and on the other hand, playing the sample with same speed in different pitches like V-Synth does is more useful in some cases...
Is there a way to assign a pic to the new tone you created via the multi sample? It’s just a gray rectangle
Roland has a lot of nice of zen core sound packs I’ve loaded, the only problem is that I can’t find them once they are in the board. There are so many sounds, and unless I have a list in front of me, there is no way to know what is what. Is there a way to filter sounds by sound pack, or exz expansion, etc? It’s much needed if not.
i tried a sample with keyboard and input as a mic but the vocal seems much softer despite tweeking the input volumes. Can the levels be adjusted after the fact and also how do you do effects on the sample with a vocal or does this need to be done on the daw.
Please, whats the proper way to connect line in to the fantom? Line 1 or 2 ?
I’m really interested in the Fantom. The sampling feature especially is of great interest to me. The amount of sampling time listed for the board though seems ambiguous. Sampling to the keyboard says 2’44” per sample. It has a separate listing of 60 minutes/660mb for sampling to the pads. It doesn’t say if that is a continuous record capability or if it’s 60 minutes, 2’44” at a time. I have need to play extended song files for special events during breaks. It would be great if I could sample a number of files 5 to 10 minutes in length and fire them off from the pads. Then I wouldn’t have to use an external device anymore. Anyone have any info that can clarify this spec? TIA.

Pretty late response but... Internal storage is 2gb, Pads are 2gb, and Multisamples/model/expansion space is 2gb. You can absolutely sample very very long. Backing tracks can be as large as 60 min or more.
Hi ed wats the possibilities of connecting the Akail Mpc x to the fantom 6 for midi recoding with the unit and will you ever try it out.

Hi Ed Diaz if I want to have the same sound of for example a Yamaha or Korg in the Famtom do I need to sample each 88 tones of that sound to in the Famtom and assign each tone to echy key to have the exact sound of that Yamaha keyboard or Korg because I try the way yo say in a other vid and by using only c4 the sound is not the same
Maybe you should do the tutorial before practicing at your home
Can I save the samples per scene or is it e global sampling pool. I have the Fa-08 and when I save my song all the samples load with the song does this happen in the Fantom

I think that Fantom is the best one Roland has built so far, i think it would be a clever move to improve the platform with more models for it and not move on to another Hardware to soon, if the jd800 and Voice models would come to Fantom i buy one, even if it is a few years old. If you change to another Hardware i think i would loose trust and never buy another. Sorry was just thinking outside... Oh and i would love to see a granular synth model for it.
What I do not understand is why you have 4 banks and 64 pads in total. Why not far more until memory is full. 64 pads is not much for a workstation
Are there any Indian style sounds and tones like Roland A-E 7 and world sounds and tones?

@@tlg9824 bro i have loaded some beat samples on my pads (indian) but not able to increase and decrease the speed of the loaded pads and again there's no option to add indian rhythms!
@@Fun.with_tech The only option is to make slices of them or to lower or haigher their pitch, I believe. If time stretching was avaliable, it wouldn't be necessary to do so.
Fantom needs the tr sequencer to go beyond what the jdxi can with transposing memory slots easy access transpose ad better harmony recognition for this much hype and cash and non handicapping of potential greatness. And yes beyond vp 9000 and vsynth time streatching and pad banks and easy access to all patches. Good lord the potential os there just handicapped on pourpose why why why. No d beam either.Covid is no excuse. At least tell us these things are on the way. We don’t need just a zen core classic Roland synth tribute board with a nontrasnposeable non interactive tr sequencer.

I've tried successfully to create my own tone by importing a multisample (5 wave files) recorded by me.
anyway, I'm using my brand new Fantom 8 in my studio, while I want to use Zenology out there in live gigs.
I've tried to export and import the tone, but I can see the new sound inside Zenology, but it doesn't sound at all, while I can't see the associated wave forms to the sound, and they are not listed in the wave banks.
how can I import either the waveforms into Zenology?

If you are planning on buying this synth then be informed that this doesn't have a traditional sequencer on it. It has a very slow, basic, rudimental Ableton Live clip style that has a 32 bar limit. Even though this is called a Fantom, it is not a workstation so please don't make that mistake. Roland have no plans to include a traditional linear sequencer as this is mainly a performance synth. Furthermore, although it os a flagship, it doesn't have the same acoustic realism as say the Integra 7 which is a major disappointment. The onboard drum sounds are similar to a Casio keyboard and have no character and the TR drum sounds are not the same as on the TR-8s which are far superior in realism which means you'll need to buy another piece of hardware to get quality drum tones. Samples cannot be time stretched or manipulated in real time. You basically have to use a DAW to edit samples then import over USB ???? which is super slow and import at the BPM and key of the track you are working on.

This is hilarious , if you want velocity levels you have to use partials , I.e you can have 4 velocity levels. Be nice if the people doing the tutorial actually knew how to use a workstation.
