I sure envy those areas that can grow grazing corn consistently. But we stretch out the grazing season on swathed barley or oat swaths here. But wildlife issues prevent us from pursuing it much farther than into December. These elk herds can play hard on a guy later than that. But we will bale graze on open fields closer to home. Works pretty good too.
been grazing corn for 20 plus years.. cows do good on it and saves alot of work feeding
When they get bunk broke and follow the feed tractor sure helps make life a lil easier when it’s sale time. Great videos man

Matt it's a joy to watch you farm such great knowledge on cattle the way you handle you're cattle the way you feed them and the inventive way of keeping their water going in such harsh conditions I think a lot of farmers could learn a lot from you and you're vast experience cattle man and inventor Those cows looked good and happy on that grazing corn

Your innovations keep on coming. Just wondering how you made out selling your cows bred to Wagu bulls. Are you still breeding them to the same bulls. If so, are you planning to switch to full bred Wagu?
We haven’t sold any bred cows don’t think I will go to wagyu cows

Really all depends on tonnage grown but it will grow and cows will eat it even if there’s snow good luck
What about the twine / net wrap w/ the bale grazing ?
We use all sisal twine and just leave it on

Corn around here does not do good. Last few years be lucky if it grows waist high
