    Very helpful, thanks. I've always had trouble with the level on the "Modeling" light vs the level of the flash, which I always set at 1/50 second. I REALLY REALLY WISH the flash was Faster at full power- it's not realistic to say the flash is 2.5 x brighter if they achieve that by just leaving the light ON longer, you know? I want my flash almost always to FREEZE action. Cheers.

      Thanks for sharing the update on the firmware Dariusz. I had an interesting journey in updating the firmware for two reasons. One is that I have a Mac and those updates aren't yet available for Mac OS X and the other is that I have the Flashpoint R2 trigger and receiver for Sony. Fortunately once I updated the firmware on the receiver, I was able to use it with my rotolight Neo 2. I had to run a virtual app on my Mac in order to download and install the firmware update. This link below provided some good information on how to set it up. th-cam.com/video/-SG1QpxnJxo/w-d-xo.html

    Godox is the actual manufacturer and Neewer/Flashpoint (and so on) just rebrand the products. Neewer rebrands for discount while Flashpoint rebrands to a premium often including accessories and having Godox make small adjustments like a differently coloured LCD screen on the AD600.

    I have a question I currently have a rotolight neo2 is there anyway I could use the gr iii with the flash capability of my neo2?
    I could use a Godox tx1 trigger with the neo2 connected with a Godox flash trigger connection cable. Since the Godox tx1 has the ir sensor it would trigger the neo2 flash option. But I would have to purchased a lightpix flash however I would then Have to use two sources of light instead of just the neo2. Plus the extra $75 I would have to spend on the lightpix. I’m sure there’s a way to just use the Ricoh gr iii, Godox tx1, and my rotolight neo2. Could you help me figure this out?

    If anyone wants to use their X1R-S (Sony Receiver) for this, all you need to do is update the firmware! Version 4 is linked in the video description but there's actually a V5 as of Jan 2018. This fixes the issue with the flash sync cable.

It's the weirdest thing, pressing the test button on the X1T-S will fire the light when plugged into the X1R-S, but as soon as you try and use the camera's hot shoe to trigger it theres so fire even though the lights blink showing communication..

    The Neo 2 - damn expensive, they should have at least include the flash connection as part of the hotshoe adapter, this would have justified the high price. Now we have to find ways around it to get the flash to work, instead of buying another hefty transmitter of £230. Come Rotolight, this simple setup will set anyone back £500 plus

You might not have or own this product but one should understand that we are the ones that keep these company going by buying their product. I have not doubt how unique this product is, but the high value of trigger price. After all if it was a reasonable package, such video as this one to find a work around wouldn’t be surfacing.

      Thank you for the reply. I was thinking of buying the Elinchrom Rotolight HSS trigger. It is fairly expensive so was hoping for a bit of a universal system that would fire both the Neo 2’s and speedlights. Do you get HSS with the Godox triggers?

    will the modus viper ttl transmitter fire the rotolight neo ii

      @MyKeyReviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      *Mel Snelgrove* the only trigger than can fire the Neo II is an Elinchrom Skyport.
      If the one you mentioned is set up like mine in the video, then it should. However I do not own that brand, so hard for me to say for certain.

      *Shaun.M.* You'll need to get the 'Godox X1T-F' and appropriate receiver and it should work. :)

    Maybe it’s just me but the rotolight neo 2 doesn’t seem to work well as a flash. Does anyone else have this problem?

    • @MyKeyReviews
      @MyKeyReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's certainly not as powerful as a flashgun/strobe, but it does have its uses. You just have to get it closer to the subject.

      Neewer and Godox worth together, they're basically the same, just rebranded.
