YESS AJHHHDKDNND
Blues Brothers is one of my top 20 favorite movies of all times. Simply an American pop culture masterpiece. I cannot begin to count how many times I have seen it since the first time in the theater, and it still rocks. Great comedy and a love letter to American soul/rhythm & blues music, along with some jazz/swing and country & western thrown in.
For those of you wondering why you don't remember Cab Calloway or James Brown having that dialogue, or Elwood singing the second verse of Rawhide (like he did on the soundtrack), these scenes were probably taken from the 3-hour roadshow cut, which only showed once before having to be cut down for a standard theatrical release. I've heard of a scene where Aretha Franklin actually makes it to the Palace Hotel Ballroom and another at the Country Bunker where the boys perform "Sink the Bismarck" (of which the recording still survives). Proving that they learnt nothing from the BBC's and ITV's mistakes in previous decades, Landis was horrified to find that Universal junked the excised footage, making the few minutes of extra footage in the extended edition (taken from the roadshow's recovered preview cut) and this trailer likely to be the only deleted scenes we'll ever see.
Yeah, the best scenes are the deleted scenes - in some movies but the best scenes are the deleted scenes. LOL
Forty year later it is now in pop culture and became one of the best movies of the 1980s.
it sure did and we'll appreciated by many who remember this movie and some who weren't around but appreciate it for what it is musical this can't be re made it be mistake it can't be duplicated only one blues brothers movie
40 years later it aged very well and became a classic and part of Pop Culture.

Crazy how many people from this classic have since passed away. (Belushi, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, John Candy, James Brown, Carrie Fisher, Henry Gibson, Charles Napier)
"Are you the Police?" "No ma'am, we're the Blues Brothers"
*musicians
Best movie EVER 😊
I watched this when I was younger. I've got to say it's quite possibly the best film of the 20th Century.
"They won't catch us, we're on a mission from God."
I always wondered what would have happened if they ran into a dead-end at the last fifteen minutes. My dad always told me '"They won't catch them, they're on a mission from God."
Favorite quote. Five stars-
This is one of my all time favorite movies, not to mention I am from the Chicagoland area, more specifically, Wauconda!! Two scenes were filmed there such as the beach scene with the J slide, and the car chase near Rt. 12 and Rt. 176. This makes this movie all the more special, on top of loving the music and funny scenes!!
This is not a trailer, this is like the entire movie. Glad I watched the movie before I found this trailer.
I bought the tape, the DVD and now digital. My favorite movie of all times.
One of the most underrated movies of all time
The Man from Animal House and The Man From Ghostbusters team up in one of THE Best Films of All Time
Happy 40th anniversary to “The Blue Brothers”
one of my best movies
Still, in my opinion, the best movie musical.
Come at me, Moulin Rouge lovers. Your movie taste is trash.
42 years of the movie glad to not watch this movie before today i will watch it with my 2years son and my life partner this is excited 😆😆
"We're on a mission from god"
"They won't catch us, we're on a mission from God."
My mother told me that this movie left it's mark on the cinema history. Just watched this today. This was f*cking amazing!! :D
P.S. Did this movie start the myth about cops driving like madmen? XD
And thus a legendary film was revealed
One of the Great Comedy Classics !
I recall one of my music teachers running through this one on CD in class
Back in the day when the trailer was long...
The best movies in the day were their long trailers.
and still managed to not spoil the plot! 🙌
This movie is 1000x better if you live in or near Chicago! The references are off the hinge! Top 5 movie for sure!
My all time favourite movie
Use to love watching this movie
Been watching this since I was a kid. Lol love it
ONE OF THE BEST FILMS EVER
This trailer makes the film seem like a real dark comedy. COOL!
God, what a classic.
You got that right
Right through that damn JC Penny on the way out… 💪
So good it's crazy!
Best Movie :)
Good music I can hear in this movie trailer.
Ray Charles with pin point accuracy deterring a young criminal wannabe lol
My mum and dad are wtching this film rn.... (sorry ik you didnt need to know that)
When i was in the 3d grade highschool our music teacher put this film in class
Was 1980 a good or bad year for music.
Blues brothers movie - good
John lennon's death - bad
Make up your mind music world
Classic.
One of my favorite movies! Damn Carrie Fisher was hot back then!
I would have messed around with her in Shampoo, around the time she was getting the part in Star Wars in 1977. Yes, all the way up to The 'burbs and When Harry Met Sally and even Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back to The Seventh Episode of Star Wars. ;)
A friend of mine is literally twice more hotter than her
Jake: How often does the train go by?
Elwood: So often that you won't even notice it.
The Blues Brothers is better than The Blues Brothers 2000
they're both great but 2000 was the first one i saw so will always be my fav
it's been 35+ years. Scenes like these will never be staged and filmed again.
You mean 39 when you posted your comment?
I’m about to watch this movie for the first time
its so random and great
So how come the part of the song Rawhide where Elwood sings “ My hearts palpitating, my true love will be waiting!” was not included in the original version or even the extended version? It was included in the soundtrack audio version.
love that.
Iconic Americana
0:17- ...Are "Neighbors." Oh wait, I messed up.
2:27- Is Picasso's Untitled a wolf? Is it an Afghan hound dog? Is it General Grievous? Damn you, Picasso, you genius!
4:14- Even the explosions from Michael Ritchie's The Island are in it.
I went to art school at the Chicago Art Institute, and we art students -- and our teachers -- thought it was an Afghan hound.
the best!!!!!
Best film ever made xx
O melhor filme que já assisti na vida. Divertimento Garantido. Os maiores expoentes do Blues/ Happy Blues do mundo. Trilha sonora impecável.Uma das maiores destruição de carros de todo o cinema americano. Tenho o filme original gravado em casa.
RIP Aretha Franklin
Jake and Elwood are the blues brothers
Back when trailers didn’t give the whole movie away
I've always wondered would this movie be a musical comedy or just comedy cause I remember watching a interview with the director and he said one night John Belushi pulled him to the side and was pissed cause he said he didn't want it to be a musical he said he rather it be a comedy instead
So this is the movie, where is trailer ?
This is the trailer. You are not yet worthy to watch the film!
From the Director of Animal House, Trading Places, Coming to America and Beverly Hills Cop III and from the Producer of ALF, NewsRadio, Just Shoot Me and The Steve Harvey Show
John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and Carrie Fisher in a Musical Comedy about 2 men who are on a mission from God
The Blues Brothers
Happy 40 to this famous film, God Bless Everyone
and BTW, I use to watch it all the time on WGN SuperStation and TBS SuperStation with my dad
And this is the comment you have all been looking for....
"We got both kinds....we got Country AND Western!"
ps That HOLY MOTHER !!!! the Penguin NOW SHE WOULD MAKE the DEVIL CRY !!!😂😂😂😂g
I was -24 when this came out
Are you the police? No ma’am, we’re musicians 🤣
This must be when trailers went down hill and showed portions of the movie. It worked because there were still a lot of good parts.
Looks great can’t wait to see it
It’s been out for 35 years....
r/wooooooosh
Jake: Mam....Would it make you feel any better if you knew what we're asking Matt here is a holy thing? Elwood: You see? We're on a mission from God.
My (newly aquired) corvette and the "Jake" skull brought me here.
"Did you see 2 Guys come in here, Black suit Black hat 1 carrying a Brief Case?"
2020 anyone?
how i like old 80s films with out cgi its all real car action and hollywood now can not return to those dayz before it still out shines rubbish this generation watches

The blues brothers

How is 480p HD?
It's a 1980 movie, what do you expect.
The movie is available as Bluray so when the video name says HD, I expect HD.
LaDeX you're a spoiled kid arent you?
Detlef De Clercq Umm.. What? The title says HD but the video isn't HD. What does that have to do with someone being spoiled kid?
Burak Çalık Even though this 1980 movie was available in perfect hd when it came out
PETER GUNN !!!!OH YES.ICONIC TRACK FOR AN ICONIC FILM !!!!SO RIGHT 📹g
2019?
Make videos of if the Blues brothers could text. Please
Vintage!!
This trailer used too many outtakes instead of the actual shots used in the film. It was confusing to watch the trailer then see the actual film.
I think you'll find those clips were in the original roadshow cut, which only showed once before Landis was told to cut it down for theatrical release. Sadly, Universal in their infinite wisdom junked the excised footage, and the only deleted scenes that survived were from the preview cut (and this trailer). The stuff that made it into the extended edition was from that preview cut.

40th Anniversary in 2020.
At the time, the most expensive movie ever made (because of all the cars trashed in chase scenes).
