Fun fact: The whole quest is based on old christiano-slavic ritual called "dziady". For all interested, read the book by Adam Mickiewicz "dziady" if you find it in english. Cheers. Damn, witcher is full of this polish connection. I'm so proud ;'-)
This whole quest seemed very familiar and I thought it was from dziady or "velines" as it's called in lithuanian. Adam Mickiewicz has both polish and lithuanian roots so it's really nice to see some of my own traditions in my favorite game ever
I really don't understand why this great track only appears once in the whole game... So much work, and such a great song, only to be played in less than 5 minutes ...???
Actually it appears twice. Second appearance is in the quest "king's Gambit" if you choose to follow Hjalmar instead of Cerys. But who would really do that.
MrSandman It appears a total of 4 times in the entire game: 1) The augery 2) Ritual to find the baron’s wife and daughter (if you kill the botchling) 3) Forefather’s Eve quest 4) King’s Gambit (if you go with Hjalmar)
One of those moments that really clarify how super Pagan Velen is, especially in comparison to Novigrad. I really love how the Witcher plays with making a mythology of the Northern Crusades.
I really like your idea, I can imagine brotheren of the sword stumbling upon Peganic ritual where instead of geralt there is a "Chosen champion" of the sort. Imagine the shock of the knights hearing the crowd chant and repeat after the peller.
What I love most about this song is the shift in tone. The tune is hypnotic and calm, until the monsters begin to scream. Then the wail begins again, an eerie respite from the more obvious horrors.
I was playing this mission during the night... lights off in my room... it's like... the entire moment I listened to this... there are multiple times I turned my head back... I felt like there was someone standing right behind me... although there was no one... such is the effect of a music... 🔥🔥🔥

Why is it the better option then? I thought there were no better choice in this part really as it doesn't affect much or am I missing something? Haven't played this game in a while and I dunno if I'll be playing it again any time soon so I wouldn't mind knowing:)
I don't wanna spoil the fun. Next time decide to attack the monster instead of 2nd option. Here it doesn't really matter, but what you do next with Pellar is something you ought to see for yourself. It's just that GOOD. Plus you get to see one of most impressive slavic customs (it's not Forefather's Eve - it's much better than that :P).
info0 Gaming Are you talking about the Pellar doing that ritual with the botchling? Where he covers his face with its blood and the wild hunt speaks through him? Where you have to light the fires for him to continue?

You should hear that when you are trippin' on 'shrooms or at least before ingestion. :D Remember that Svalblod ritual? You can find dried magic mushrooms at the shrine :'D Try them yourself and all of this will start making sense ^^ why there is magic in games like Witcher, why people believe in otherworldly things and why they are religious in the first place. Psychedelics are the answer. In some sense, magic really exists... had to laugh when I found those shrooms in the game. ^^ I guess Witcher would have been cool even without all that fantasy stuff, a realistic version of this Witcher world would still be fun... just add all the superstition, the cool mythic atmosphere and a few very crazy "trippy" scenes with unexplainable truths. They could have made it a little supernatural as life can be like this sometimes as well, especially when you dare taking psychoactive substances. They can do more than most people know. :D I would like to see a game like that... it would make you doubt everything you see in the game as nothing can be 100% certain just as it was in real medieval age.
