- Today we controlled the afternoon rush at Gatwick on the VATSIM Network, with a large departure list! It was really stressful (if you couldn't tell) - I tried to keep calm throughout - let me know in the comments if it worked!

So good learning listening to this and to understand what to expect when online. Just started flying online, after 4 years of building a full size 737 sim. We hade two trips most was on unicom. But we hade one trip with tower online. Never been so nervous 😂 was calmer when I took my driving licence..
Mate just had the exact same thing done 2 flight previously most on Unicom then coming into Luton with tower online was scary 😅
I came here seeking to learn atc commands and the order in which its given and try to pick out the information in what seems a huge jumble of letters and numbers. I had massive admiration for pilots who can keep an ear on the radio and pick out the data useful to them amongs flying the plane and navigating
Now i have an even bigger admiration for the controllers who bring it all together. It seems never ending fast paced and extremely streasful but its an amazing watch

BAW983 here, you have been online controlling quite a lot when I've been flying; you always do a fantastic job! This was certainly busy, I would love to be a controller, but it can be very demanding sometimes from what I've seen!

Interesting video giving a feel for what it's like to control a busy airport with a mix of seasoned and inexperienced Vatsimmers.
You did a really good job. I’ve never tried this but I would have struggled a bit because some of the pilots really don’t speak clearly (not referring to accents but the mumbling). Very interesting to watch!

I have watched only a few videos to see what you VatSim guys are seeing... I got a whole new appreciation! Let it be clear you guys have to be absolutely mental for doing this kind of job! Who on earth - except VatSim controllers - is able to do this, and succeed daily?? It is not curtious to curse, but DAMNNN you guys got a tough job.... Let's all cheer 'm on with a Holy Well Done!!! Thank you for existing Sir, I'll gladly fly into EGKK, knowing all the work that is being done when the radio is not transmitting... when vacating 08r via CR is a turn right on AN hold short P acceptable before contacting gnd? I always feel very uncomfortable holding on CR short of 26R...
As long as you clear the runway exit its fine. Usually the tower controller will tell you an initial taxi before you contact ground
@@thevatsimcontroller that was always the case on 26 operation (J short of S, or R, depending on the controller)
but with 08 operations, I never got a initial taxi. i just don't wanna bock rapid exit CR especially when spacing is at a minimum. :/
In general, doesn't matter where I fly to, I hate stopping on the immediate exit taxiway...
Bro can you tell me how to become an Air Traffic Controller on the VATSIM network ? I have tried so many times to do it, but there is no one to help me. I tried to do it first in VATMENA because I live in Kuwait, then I tried in VATWA because India is my hometown. But nothing worked. And there is no option for ATC training in both of these vACC's websites
Not part of that VACC so I'm not sure how they do it. Try following the instructions here: vatsim.me/new-members. If this fails, I would send a message to the helpdesk :) Hope this helps!
just a small question, i have never tried vatsim and have one question that might get me into it, do you have to talk or can you communicate via a chat with the ATC?
You can text chat. However voice chat is preferred. If you use by text, you will not be prioritised.

You can change it in settings. If you are on auto it will be lowest automatically
The highest quality is 360p. FYI
