Thanks for that David. Immediately took me back a few years, when my brother in law owned a white Morris 1000 van (a descendent of the van you featured). Have to say it was a true work horse, delivering groceries. I don’t believe it ever broke down, ran like a clock, a piece of cake to work on. Had well over 100k on it when he sold it, for as much as he bought it for originally. Brilliant bits of kit for the job.

as soon as you said at the beginning, " how much did this go for at auction" I said to myself £8 grand so I think it was a real bargain at £6 k +. What a great vehicle.

I just came across this video. I have a 1951 MCV Morris Cowley Van with the body in much better condition. It is a left hand drive export to Canada. Unfortunately I discarded the frame and running gear when I first got it in the late 70's. Back then, where I lived there was no sources to get parts so I was going to put the body on a modern chassis. I still have the body and have not done anything with it due to life. Sadly I may never be able to restore it.

I have just traded my rusted out HK Holden wagon for my brothers 53 Cowley (like the one shown but no paint left) then saw this video. Looks like I may have come out ahead.

I just read the thumbnail image, but first read it as "can you see this van" and I was thinking is it meant to be an optical illusion 🙃

There were a couple of completely unrestored Series 3 Cowley vans (both grey) still in regular use in the Hay on Wye area as recent as 1990.

Great them moggy vans BT was a regular user back in the day.Rare model or make also don’t mean it’s worth anymore than the next. But with Classic cars it’s all
Down to what someone is willing to pay.

In fairness, my estimation was only 6,072 pounds under. Obviously I forgot the commission.

Really beautiful vehicle ... VW Beetles evolved why not Morris's - what would that car have looked like if it had I wonder. I did guess on FB - and I know split screen counts for something. I was a little bit over ... then I always am - almost unique though ... interesting - yes follow the restoration please - thank you D

I truthfully thought £6000 only because it's very rare. It looks a very expensive restoration project so would imagine it being a 'keeper' and can't even guess what the value would be after its restored.

This is glorious, a real blast from my childhood. I reckoned 5k, so I was a bit on the low side. What a beauty - I've always found the commercial variants to be even more interesting than the cars. I'd love this one as a twin to: th-cam.com/video/tShgt0lhJpA/w-d-xo.html what a pair they'd make.
