Just beautiful.....Sally and I are about the same age too....and I also had someone very special in my life as the same age as Burt....it never worked out for us either, but my guy was the love of my life and I believe I was his too....he passed away in 2017 and I think about him each and everyday.....we met in 1973 so our love had a history ever so bonding and one that will never go away.....God Bless Burt Reynolds and may he rest now in heaven....Someday his "Miss Frog" will see him again...but until that day comes, he can be her Angel and protect her from Heaven....

There is always some channel, kitty, that routinely has reruns of Gunsmoke. It is certainly not on prime-time anymore, but it can still be found, I watch it every day, it was on one channel, and then another series was shone, but I found it on another channel. But you have to have the ability to get quite a few channels to be assured you're going to see these old series, for example, one channel had Gunsmoke on for over a year, now they're showing "Little House on the Prairie" so you kind of have to look around for your favorite series!
my parents are like this, breakup then back together for 50 years. Now they have finally split at the age of 75. Its the kids that suffer the most.....I wish i was adopted!!

I met Burt Reynolds in pigeon forge Tennessee at bubba fest in 2018. He was signing stuff for people but you could tell he wasn't feeling very good that day. They cut his signing session early. That same thing happened to a family member of mine, he was partly responsible. He didn't/wouldn't work he was content to live off her wages, he further allowed her to do ALL the housework. I would have to agree with Burt. Sally Fields is a real sweetheart of a girl and anyone lucky enough to have won her heart is a fool to loose her. I read her recent book and she seems as real as they come in Hollywood. Burt seemed that way too which is why they seemed to make a great couple.

That same thing happened to a family member of mine, he was partly responsible. He didn't/wouldn't work he was content to live off her wages, he further allowed her to do ALL the housework. The guy she slept with treated her like a beauty queen while her husband treated her like an ATM.
I don't know your situation but I'd be willing to bet that you didn't make an effort to make her feel special. I've been married almost 27 years no cheating from either of us but we go out of our way to present a united front against any obstacle and don't just say the words we live them.

Sally Field just wrote a book about her life and she said Burt was a very controlling person. I met Burt in 1973 when he was dating Dinah Shore and I met Sally Field in 1988. Rest In Peace Burt. Sally seems happier with out a husband...She is same age as me and she has her 3 sons and her grandkids to keep her busy.

Not much of a sentimentalist I take it.
It is absolutely enormous the amount of a ferverous type of love you can feel for a 98% total stranger and screen actor/celebrity such as Burt Reynolds. I guess you could look at it from a negative or positive point-of-view, or perhaps you could look at it right down the middle. No matter which way I look at it, I love the man for what he made me feel as a young boy and teen and even most recently. There is no way that a mere mortal man who fed so much energy and love and got it back in spades could just fizzle away and out of existence. Thank You Burt Reynolds for living the life you did. Mr. Reynolds inspired me to be a "man" and made me feel darn good about that too! I know for a fact that there will be a long procession of great people, in the other dimension to greet him and celebrate his return to youth.
