Did anyone notice the ship? The Italian "Amerigo Vespucci" - there could not be any better setting, maybe, than the "most beautiful ship of the world". Thanks for the video!
A good story plot the ship at the start was excellent... Quite a brilliant film for its time period. Well acted and certainly kept your interest all the way through. Would definitely recommend this to be watched. Thank you for posting
Определено прекрасное мастерство исполнения Особенно понравилось операторская работа Игра главного героя Благодаря сложный персонаж выглядит правдоподобно
Thanks for sharing this movie! It did have similarities to the Zorro stories, or the Scarlet Pimpernel, etc., but I really like those sorts of stories, so that was a good thing! I don't know if I've seen the leading actor before, or most of them for that matter, but I thought he did a great job with playing both roles. Sometimes they are too much the daring rogue even when they ought to be more foppish, or they are bad at changing their mannerisms enough between roles, but this was done well. And the ship, the swordfights, the scrambling about on rooftops, the fight scenes and extras and everything was adventurous and exciting. It was also nice to see the settings; they didn't feel like sound stages or the same canyons of California. Excellent cinematography, music, costumes too. I really enjoyed this movie.
Great film score and soundtrack and eversince I was a little girl and saw Louis Hayward in The Man In The Iron Mask I will watch any Louis Hayward film.
The scene with Amalfi and the queen was a masterpiece in stage directing and camera work - panning to the mirror and back, all one take - no cuts. Hitchcock would have been inspired!
So exclusive movie that I ever see about the Nepals Queen 30 to 50 eara time, very fun and nice costumes, excitement good to see and known about that time history thanks so much ❤😂🙏👍🏻
Hayward married actress/director Ida Lupino on 17 November 1938 in a quiet civil ceremony held in the Santa Barbara courthouse. After he returned from the war, he was drastically different, which caused a strain in the marriage. They were divorced in 1945. He then met Peggy Morrow, and after dating for a while, they married on 29 May 1946. They divorced four years later on 13 March 1950. Hayward had one son, Dana, with his third wife, June Hanson.
Delicia. Fosse viva, minha mãe teria adorado isso. Ela costumava falar desse filme quando eu era pequena, inclusive do duplo papel de Louis Hayward. ☺️

I like how in all these movies the beautiful heroine is always repulzed by the handsome arrogant rogue pirate, defiantly resistant to his romantic advances, then, quickly tosses all her values aside, along with her reputation, shamelessly throwing herself like a waterfront tramp at his feet, willing to do anything for him...oh, wait....that's every woman in existance, automatically drawn to what they are not supposed to have. Telling a woman no is the surest way to yes!
Too much landlubber talking, not enough sea action. Not a big fan of pirate movies with 90% of the action taking place in frilly palaces and dungeons. I want ships, ocean waves, cannon battles and pirate plunder. 23:05
Ciao e grazie.Buone Feste!Vorrei sapere il nome della Nave(vessel) a vela con le fiancate bianche e nere che subisce l'arrembaggio all'inizio del film.

You might say that but if this came out first I think it would have been just as good of a hit if not for the acting of Leslie Howard…I think this movie gets two thumbs up!
@@lawrencejlittle This was a good movie. I don't mind a recycled plot when it is done well. Scarlet Pimpernel was a play in 1905, adapted to a movie in 1934. it definitely came first. The plot was an English Nobel who used disguises to rescue French aristocrats from the guillotine, while pretending to be a useless fop at court. Little tweaking her and there, but same basis.
Pretty good movie of this era, origin and genre, hahaha. The only real failing occured at 1:13:20. In real life Amalfi/Scirocco would have taken the opportunity to kill Holstein right then and there. Without Holstein to give the orders his police would have been occupied with squabbling amongst themselves and the revolution would have been much less bloody. Other than that it was pretty good, hahaha.
That was fun I hope to be around next time goodnight all and consider Christ and what HE has done for us on the cross. Believe in HIM, forgiveness of sin is so precious it means eternity without corruption of the soul. Love you all in Christ Jesus name.❤
Amen brother! Antichrist and the number of the beast are already here. Dont accept his mark. In my country, thisonth,we all have to accept his mark, otherwise,no money,no job,no sell or buy...no nothing.
A very inaccurate interpretation of history. Queen Maria Caroline had a husband, Ferdinand the fourth. and Naples was captured by the French general Championnet and became part of Napoleon's empire. And King Ferdinand the Fourth himself ordered the distribution of weapons to the population, so that people would defend the city from the French invaders.
