I just got my great grandfather's 53' TD running after a decade of sitting in his garage, needed the carbs disassembled and cleaned (balanced and tuned as well), points cleaned, all of the brakes and some brake lines replaced, and a couple fuel lines needed to be cleared out or replaced. I was surprised by how easily I was able to get it going after a decade of inactivity.
left front is reverse thread on TDs. BOTH rears and right front are normal! the next model the TF (1954-55) also had a crank start facility as did the MGA (1956-1962). very handy when setting valve clearances (removing spark plugs beforehand makes everything so much easier!) and finding top dead center for timing.
That's a pretty nice looking MGTD. Teamwork sure made things go together quickly. Having the hardware labeled in bags was most fortunate. I recently purchased a MGTF 1250 mostly disassembled and I have no idea if I have any or all of the hardware. It certainly is not labeled lol.
I have been there before not having the hardware labeled if your not the one that took it apart. The teamwork with my friends is my favorite part of doing these projects. Congrats on your purchase I hope it goes well for you.

That's great! We will have an update video on this one in a few days.
