To be completely honest, given the trash we’ve seen since this film went out it isn’t the worst thing to grace to e screens.
At most if we were to disregard this as a “sequel” and instead treat it like its own thing then it wouldn’t be so bad. It still has its flaws still
The movie may be terrible and not considered a sequel but there is some or alot of elements in this movie that are crazy good

If I'm being honest, I've always felt that the "FINAL FIGHT" vs the Mega-kaiju felt more like ... the type of episode that comes after the team gets introduced where they get humbled after realising of how unprepared they are.

I love Pacific Rim so much and i love both films and the series i don't know why people hate on the second film so much cause i personally prefer it over the first film
One big issue is that they went from being a love letter to Giant Robot anime and Kaiju films to something more along the lines of Power Rangers/Super Sentai. The Jaegers in the first film were 'heavy' and had a lot of development in how they moved. If I remember correctly, Gipsy Danger's movement was based on a famous boxer. In Uprising, the Jaegers seem designed primarily around what weapons they used.
It also didn't help that Uprising lacked the style that the original had. The entire shift from night-based neons to broad daylight hurt the visuals at times.

There really wasn't any control of what happened inside the tractor beam. It kinda compressed things as it pulled so they might've wound up squishing Mako.
@shinzero0271 nah that still would've been better than letting the helicopter fall to certain death 😂, it could've been used as a last resort
I also think the tractor beam looks more like it levitates objects inside a bubble rather than crush objects together, so in theory it should be able levitate a helicopter, at least I think it would've been worth a try.
