- The state of Georgia is pouring some money into making their state parks as good as they can be and they're nailing it! Case in point... Skidaway Island State Park. Everything about it screams THIS IS THE WAY A STATE PARK CAMPGROUND SHOULD BE! We loved our stay here in our Winnebago Ekko. It really made me look smart after booking it... especially after booking the campground at Jekyll Island.

I'm 57 and I camp with my dog out of a minivan. New to your channel and enjoy it. My home base is right outside Savannah. Good to see you out here and enjoying Georgia.
We have really enjoyed Georgia and are excited about going back and enjoying all the places we missed.
My first visit to Skidaway...... came out from the women's showers.... was greeted by three deer munching away on the lawn.
That sounds like a great experience… thanks for sharing.
We use a small battery powered Milwaukee blower to clean our outdoor mat and also for cleaning leaves and debris from our table and site.
We will look into getting a blower, it has to be better than a broom.
Love Skidaway! Great campsites. A great place to stay while exploring Savanah. The staff is friendly and kind. Would like to go back some day.

Been to Skidaway a couple times. Lots of waterways to paddle with an inflatable kayak. Parts of the 96 Olympics for rowing held on the Skidaway River. Also, check out Fort McAllister state park close by. The fort has a amazing history and is intact.

we went to Myrtle Beach this weekend, 12/18, and had a great lunch at our favorite hamburger joint, Joe's Hamburgers. We sold our class C this summer and are about to go back to a TT. we can't wait to get back out there exploring and your adventures inspire us.

Great park You like Us love state parks that is the only place we go in Florida SP again this winter we are in 15 different SP for 3 months. We leave this sat and head south , Happy Trails

I am based in Wilmington, NC, head north in the summer and south in the winter. Chasing temps to match my age, 75. lol

Skidaway is awesome. Check out Ft. McCallister too. It's in the area, Fishtails restaurant is good food.

Wondering whether you visited the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium near the campground. There’s a partial bike path and a nice road to bike from the state park. Beautiful trails and plenty to do and see at the center. If I remember correctly it is free or minimal donation. Great little place. Tybee Island area is fun too.
We did not go to the UGA Marine Education Center, we will put it on our list for next time. It’s been a long time since we’ve been to Tybee Island, so we need to go back there too. Thanks for all the suggestions.
Never ever trust a body of water from N. Caroline south to Key West, anything on the Gulf of Mexico Alabama, Mississippi!, Louisiana and Texas, gator country in them thar states, lol. I'll b honest, growing up in Florida, I would not swim in any body of water I couldn't see to the bottom of and even then I had to watch the water a while if there was any kind of vegetation on the bottom. Sandy bottom springs were my favorite places to swim as a kid, I sure hope y'all enjoy my new home state of Georgia, happy and safe travels to you and Mangy. Love the videos of all the hidden gems

We started watching you two when you had the Travato because we had ordered a van and wanted to learn all we could about camping, RVing , how to pack etc... You guys have great ideas and we've learned a lot from all your experiences. Sometimes the smallest tip goes the furthest. We don't have a cassette toilet but I'm sure you've just helped someone who does. Sorry about your burnt wieners. 😁

I don't worry about Maggie starving! So sweet y'all always bring her lunch back when you go out! Beautiful park! I don't have a RV of any kind and still love to watch you guys! Planning on buying a camper van though when I sell my house.
We feel so bad about leaving Maggie we feel we need to bring her something back or give her a treat. No chance in her starving for sure.

Skidaway Island is at top end of our favorite parks. The big oaks at the entrance to the campground and the short palms on the back end of the loop trail are memorable. The museum and history are interesting as well. Love the happy tail.
Skidaway is now one of our favorites too. There were so many things we loved about this park.
Enjoyed your Skidaway video. We were not able to go there but did visit Savanah. Looking forward to that episode. Wow! I haven't been back to Skidaway in 40 years. How things have changed, it's a new campground. We have reservations there next spring and I can't wait. We own a Casita and still enjoy your videos. We follow for the experiences and peeks at the different locations you visit. Also you two are so cute.

Great camp ground and right in our back yard. Looks like a good place to celebrate ground hogs day. We are home from our journey to Amish country ; about five pounds heavier. Glad to be home( smelled the barn and drove nine hours yesterday ) but ready to go again. Happy tails and safe travels.

Will be looking forward to your next video on Savannah. Last year we had to get going and only got to drive through downtown in our Travato. It looked like a place one could spend a couple days exploring. Thanks for the heads up of the great state park nearby.
Savannah is a great historical place, you are right it could take a couple of days to explore it properly.
That’s a very nice looking State Park; really like the trails too. The sites are beautiful and spacious - a definite plus! You’re so right - that’s the way a State Park campground should be.

Good Sunday morning, loved your latest camp spot and enjoying your travels and video. One little thing I do with my outdoor mat after sweeping and folding it up. I have a very large garbage bag ( like lawn and leaf size) and it fits in quite nicely. Keeps the excess sand and “stuff” contained, especially if it is damp or wet. The next time I use it I turn the bag inside out so it will dry, alternating the way it is used. That way I always have a dry bag to use and when I return home I lay the mat out and hose it off. Easy peasy. As always, look forward to your next video cause Owen keeps it so lighthearted. Happy tails, safe travels and hope you have the best holiday season. We don’t always use all seven… but each one of them has their purpose. It wasn’t long ago all we used was our phones, but we like the different perspectives each camera gives. I think you will enjoy seeing what you can do with the 360. It’s been really cold here too, it’s almost time for us to head south.

This is one of our favorite State Parks. It’s been about 4 years since we’ve been so we haven’t seen the improvements. We have never seen an alligator while there. If we could have advised you in the state parks to visit the ones you’ve visited would have been on the list. We would also recommend Cloudland Canyon, FDR, Black Rock mountain, moccasin creek, and Fort mountain. So glad you’ve enjoyed our state parks.

I've never heard of this park. My sister and I are looking for another great place besides Huntington Beach SC.
It’s a great park, but it doesn’t any water, like the ocean which is a big draw for Huntington Beach SP. But I do think it’s worth a try.
