Dr. Jawad discusses the difference between the TH1 and TH2 immune response.
The main difference between TH1 and TH2 immune response is that TH1 immune response is a proinflammatory response, which kills intracellular parasites and perpetuates autoimmune responses, whereas TH2 immune response promotes IgE and eosinophilic responses in atopy and produces anti-inflammatory responses, which kill large, extracellular parasites such as helminths. Furthermore, TH1 cytokine is the interferon gamma while TH2 cytokines include interleukin 4, 5, 10, and 13.
TH1 and TH2 immune response are the two types of immune responses generated by T helper cells. Both immune responses are mediated by cytokines.
TH1 and TH2 immune response are two types of immune responses generated by T Helper cells that contain the surface receptor, CD4.
Both fight against infectious diseases by producing cytokines, which activate or suppress the function of other cells in the immune system.
Therefore, both types of immune responses are a part of the adaptive immunity.
TH1 cells generate TH1 immune responses, while TH2 cells generate TH2 immune responses.
Also, the TH1 immune response is a proinflammatory response and perpetuates autoimmune responses, while TH2 immune response promotes IgE and eosinophilic responses in atopy and produces anti-inflammatory responses.

I would like to ask you a great question. I have a refractory seronegative celiac disease ( Marsh 3b and after 6 years Marsh 3a, I also have eosinophils gastritis, mast cell activation, gastroparesis and lactose intollerance.
    Is my condition a th1, th2 or a th17 ?
As a seronegative, would be the failure of the naive b cell to reproduce antibody ?
I no not have any Iga deficiency.

I learned a lot from this video. It consolidated a lot of what I've learned recently. Many thanks!! I'm unclear if caffeine is good or bad for Th2 dominance (which I have) though? Will it help or hinder?

    • @thejdocrealminute4648

      Caffeine (avoid this)
Chocolate, coffee and regular black tea also worsen Th2 dominant disorders including eczema, as caffeine suppresses Th1 immune function.

@@thejdocrealminute4648 My goodness! Right. I'm a bit of a tea/coffee addict... however...I have tried ditching caffeine (quite successfully) in the past in favour of chicory drinks or Barley coffee alternatives etc. This seems very valuable information. I suffer with bouts of Atopic Eczema (high IgE), allergies, hayfever. I also had a bout of Acute Anterior Uveitis (I'm HLA-B27+). Luckily, my skin is currently calm & eyesight perfect (after hospital treatment). I didn't cut out the caffeine again, thinking it might be good for me. I will have in moderation then. Thanks Dr!

    • @shawnae3048
      @shawnae3048 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@brock013 You are taking methylcobalamin as your b12? The common cynocobalamin will do far less to improve homocysteine levels. B12 may not be enough by itself to fix the underlying cause. Did you ever get tested for the MTHFR gene? Having one of the more impaired forms is a possible contributor to high homocysteine levels. Even without that test I'd add methylfolate and possibly TMG((Betaine Anhydrous Trimethylglycine)) powder. Avoid supplements with folic acid and as many concentrated sources of it as you can. You don't have to try to cut it out completely but folic acid is believed to interfere in the use of normal folate in some situations. If adding all 3 methyl donor supplements (mehtylb12, mehtylfolate, tmg) makes you feel more fatigued instead of less then it's best to first try switching the b12 to the Adenosylcobalamin form but it's harder to find. You can also skip the tmg or only use the supplements a few times a week instead of daily until the body adjusts to the increased protein methylation.
Glutathione is also a good idea when having issues with protein methylation. Given all the health issues it can play a part in helping and lack of negatives I definitely recommend it.
Make certain to get that vit d up to avoid both minor and serious health consequences. If your doctor isn't doing injections then sublingual liquid preferably with some k2 is better than tablets. Just using sublingual d3+k2 raised my vit d levels more than double on blood tests over 4 months without increasing sunlight exposure (it was Iowa winter). Sunlight would be ideal but I would not rely on only sunlight without supplemental vitamin d until I had confirmed levels were at the upper end of the desired range and I could get year round sunlight exposure.
If you've only used capsules then switch to a live liquid probiotic. I found it so much more helpful than the dried capsules that made no noticeable difference in GI health and even had a test done before and after on gut bacteria to find no brand of capsules had a noticeable difference in bacteria ratios or species detected. Liquid probiotics very noticeably altered things. Some simply use EM-1, which is cheap but was originally designed as a bacteria mix for improving soil for crops. EM-1 now has a version specifically for ingestion as a human probiotic and there are some other brands of live liquid probiotics. You do have to ship them in good weather (no freezing), store them right, and they have a short shelf life because they are alive. Start with lower than the recommended dosing because these probiotics can have a very strong impact on the GI tract and initially cause uncomfortable symptoms for many people if starting with too much.
There are also yeast probiotics using Saccharomyces boulardii that sometimes helps. On rare occasion it does cause infection but very rare and only under certain health conditions. It's also sometimes used when long or very strong courses of antibiotics are needed because it won't die to antibiotics like all your gut bacteria.

Finally if you haven't then try looking into resistant starches. resistantstarchresearch.com/posts/resistant-starch-butyrate-and-gut-barrier-integrity/
