You forgot one step when putting the sanding drum on the mandrel . The Phillips screw on the top should be tightened thus expanding the rubber inside the sanding disc securing the drum to the mandrel tightly to prevent it from spinning or walking out of place . When you tighten the tiny Philis screw it expand the rubber. I see alot of people who aren't aware about this . To remove the sanding drum after your finished with it you losen the Phillips screw on the top of the mandrel and it shrinks the rubber back down to size.
@@traxrc no problem brother, just trying to help those unaware of that . Admittedly it took me quite some time after using a dremel to figure that out 😄
I've had this rotary tool since 2018, still going strong. I've used it to cut a stripped wheel hub assembly and to help make a knife. I recommend taking it apart and replacing the grease from the factory with something a bit more robust.
Holy mackerel! Thank you so much for this video - particularly for showing us how to install the cutting wheel. The instruction manual doesn't do a good job of showing/telling us how to do it. Thank you so much!
So glad that this video has helped so many people over the years! Didn't take much time for me to make back then and I didn't think it would be this popular either.
I have this power tool. I'm impressed and it works great. I did buy some Dremel brand Heavy Duty cut off wheels. They last much longer than the ones in the kit when doing a lot of cutting and grinding. Thanks for the demonstrations
I have this. It works good. If you want to spend the extra $$$ Dremel makes one thats the size of a large Sharpie. If you have a air comperssor get a pencil grinder/deburring tool, my personal favorite.
How would you compare this to the Dremel tool? I was thinking of getting 1 of these to get rid of some small rusted paint chips that I got from pebbles hitting my cars hood when out on the road. I’ve seen people use these types of tools to get rid of the rust & then touch up the chips with a paint pen..do you think this’ll do the job?
They do have a flex shaft! I have never used or seen it in person but here’s a link! www.walmart.com/ip/Dremel-36-in-Flex-Shaft-Attachment-for-Rotary-Tools/1194220
I have this outfit, and the only thing I don’t like about it is the cheap adapter parts. You only get one of the universal adapters and mine actually melted the screw to the the mandrel. Need better made accessories.
@@traxrc I agree, for the price it’s not bad. But they wear out quickly. Or maybe I’m just tough on them. Lol! I do appreciate your video. I had no idea if the hole punch was supposed to attach while using... The units I’ve owned previously didn’t come with it.
For what I use mine for, (RC) it's perfect. Everything stays in tact, besides the cutting discs. Those break pretty often. That's to be expected I guess lol.
A step is missing some where in the beginning. I dont understand what to snap it into. Mine just falls out. The copper pieces aren't securing anything.
I just bought one of these and the bits seem to be too small to fit into the collet. Am I missing a step somewhere? I read the instructions and watched the video up until this point
I've been please with its performance for the two months I've owned it. However, it suddenly quit, so thinking it may need new brush, but I can't figure out how to put new one in device after removing the old one.
HELP!!!! I just bought this kit from Walmart and it's pretty much the exact shame as yours except mine has 106 pieces and is black color where yours is red, and where your color black is is where mine is red. So I'm praying that yours is exactly the same stuff as mine 🤔 The problem I'm having is this is my 1st rotary tool. I've never used power tools before. But I thought I would give it a try because because I make miniatures for Barbie dolls and I needed this tool so that I don't keep busting my nails trying to sand stuff lol. The one thing that I am wondering about is there are 2 springs in a tiny little ziploc baggie that I'm not too sure what they are!?? Do you know what they are and what they're used for and how do you use them? Also I was wondering why there are so many different shapes in these "mounted grinding stones" and what are the reasons for there to be so many sizes and shapes?
They should be relatively the same. As long as the chuck to insert the tips works the same, than you should be fine to just copy what I did in the video. I have no clue what the springs are for either. I’ve never needed them for anything. As for the grinding stones, there are different shapes so that you can get different cuts.
This video has allowed me to conclude that I got a defective product. The mandrel for the cutoff wheel came with a screw that is too small for it. So it does not thread I have not threaded it at all I simply picked up the mandrill and the screw fell out of it without me touching the screw. This occurred fresh after opening the brand new product after coming home from Walmart. This bastard could literally send a disc flying into my face and take my eye out because the screw does not even thread the mandrill they gave me a screw that was too small. And yes it is the screw that came inside of the mandrill with the red washers and everything. I simply picked up the mandrill and everything just fell out of it I never touched any of the screw components at all.

@miztatone918 dude I spent IDK howlong trying to figure out why the sanding belt kept falling off, thank you so much!

I’ve had mine since the start of 2020. Still working great. I don’t use it often but it fires up every time.
I’ve been checking these out almost every time I go to Walmart. I think I’ll go get it this weekend for some resin projects. Thanks for the video!!
We would recommend them!
Stop spamming the same thing.

I use this tool a lot! I'll have to get a set of those cutoff wheels too.
nice to know, I’ll keep this in mind ‼️
Have had this for years and have used it for a lot. Love it
It’s definitely a great cheap tool!
Very helpful thank you, I was not sure how the cutting wheel was attached.
Glad this video helped you out!

Thank you so much for this video. You should do one using every single thing on the kit. Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate it.
No problem dude! We honestly don't know how to use everything in the kit because we only use the ones we showed in the video. Thanks for watching man!
Thanks for making this video. It helped me out getting started with the HyperTough dremel tool. Best wishes with all your hobby projects.🌟
Glad I helped you!!
best video I've seen for this product - thank you!!!!
You’re welcome!
Awsome job explaining the hyper tough rotary tool
Thanks!
I got it when it was $10 and it is one of the most useful tools I've ever bought.
Real
Thanks my guy. This video was helpful and exactly what I needed to know.👍👍

I’m no body guy so not too sure. Typically you get what you pay for and Dremel brand is top tier when it comes to rotary tools.
I've been looking for a budget rotary tool option! Thanks!
Do you know if Hyper Tough offers a Flex Shaft attachment or if not, would the Dremel Flex Shaft fit onto the Hyper Tough rotary tool?!

I've never had an issue with the accessories. For $20 though, you can't expect much I guess.

Wow, more info then I ever seen on these tools but what do you do when the little itty bitty washer gets lose? Thanks
Which washer are you talking about?

Do you have that black collar to cover the copper peice installed? Pretty certain I didnt skip anything it the video.
Anyone know if this HT model will work with the Dremel 565 Multi Purpose cutting kit attachment??
Honestly I don’t know sorry

U might have to change out the collet this video was from a long time ago so I can’t really remember.

Ya maybe

How do you tighten the bits on
I showed it in the video
Guys new to Drummer!Inserted accessory pushed button tighten will not secure still wobbling around.Fix please?
Try changing the gold colored collet to a different size. Unscrew the black part at the end of the tool all of the way and you can change it out.

Yes mine was in there already.

Anyone else have the issue where it just doesn’t tighten?
Personally I haven’t.
