As soon as this guy was shut down and abandoned this property , the city should have come in to investigate and also properly dispose of documents, etc. He needs held accountable for his gross negligence.
They don't. Look at all the abandoned buildings. Unpaid taxes..owners get off free i guess..and it cost money to tear down this property does the city pay.

The problem with a lot of funeral homes is that families don't have the money to pay for a burial or cremation that's why a lot of bodies, ashes stay in the freezer/ storage rooms that's why the funeral director should charge a large deposit for the services
Who ever shut him down is responsible for the remains that where left there. P.S. I am from Pgh. Pa, and I sure wouldn't want to be in that place at night.
No, dude. Sauvageot is responsible for it. He literally refused to give people the remains/cremains that he got paid for. There wouldn’t be anything left there if he did things right. The ex-director is a piece of garbage.
No one shut him down. He lost his license so he abandoned the building. He is responsible for ppl not getting their loved ones back.

I was in that funeral home once yrs Ago When i walked in...it was very dirty, cluttered.. old furniture. . I couldn't understand how a family would use this dirty funeral home. He allowed a dog to roam where the viewing would be when it would close. This is hear say.. I can only imagine the owner's honesty and cleanliness. Those poor families.
When was there a city inspection at this home?
No doubt at some point in time people were just dying to get in there !
I lost my partner last August as he passed away he was my whole world but his job was to pick up the remains of the dead from wherever they passed and take them to where they had to go , like funeral homes etc but the body's that no-one claimed or were unidentified went into a large fridge in a garage. He worked for the city of Detroit in Michigan the thing is the things that went on there let's just say we're not always as they should be like to many body's being stacked etc my partner end up reporting his boss as some of the things that went on to people's loved ones were ..... Unforgivable it's made me very aware now of what really goes on .

I watch a mortician her name is Kari. She said a lot of times the family don't return to get the ashes. She said most people pick them up but many people don't.
There needs to be tighter regulations on funeral homes the government needs to do more to regulate them!!!

Hey man I know this was only a month ago but this place has deteriorated so much as I was just here on Saturday. Also many things were stolen and destroyed. The floors are are also extremely unsafe now.

You're not supposed to have human and animal remains in the same building. There's no way for relatives to know if the remains they received are human. Such a tragedy.

I went summer of 2020. Where you come up from the basement there was an actual spirit there I saw. I never get scared and it made my soul leave my body.
