Americans always say they live in "the land of the free" but in Europe, the police would knock on the door, ask you to turn it down and leave. Even if they found small amounts of cannabis they would maximum take it and give you a fine. No way would they arrest or handcuff you and put you in prison for having a little cannabis in your own home.
I reckon Matthew was in Willie's bus partaking before he walked on to the stage.
I wonder what he was doing before he played the bongos.

My only time in jail was in Austin; the arresting cop beat the hell out of me with his billy club. THe charge? Intefering with an arrest -- I saw the same cops harassing a Chicvao kid and figured he had the same future ahead of him, so I wanted to help him. INsteqad, I'm pretty sure I took the beating meant for him This was 1984
God, remember what a stupid scandal this was? This would barely be a story nowadays, although sadly Texas cops would probably still do the same thing.
