I've long said that Thanakorn are the Suhr or SE Asia. Innovative and quality instruments. Attention to detail is very high. One area they need to innovate in is their now proprietary pickups and bridges. Surely an OEM producer in Korea could do this and brand it Thanakorn and they would have other products to boost their name and brand.

Curious how so many asian produced instruments are coming to market at a much lower price point and at very good quality. Still at close to $2k these seem a little highly priced. For a little less than a grand less I could purchase a Suhr. I think I'll wait. Cheers
Is that graphite paint around the pickup cavities? NOOOO! Try not using it and hear a massive difference in the bass and treble output of your pickups - the tone will come back!
Thats shielding paint. Its basically the same as shielding the cavities with copper tape. (Yes, it affects some higher freqs, but theres where the hum lives)
Sheilding paint is any old paint with graphite in which seriously affects your pickups freq. res. There are metalised paints but they are very expensive, usually made for repairing window heaters in cars. I can thoroughly recommend 5 thou copper sheet as it's cheap and easy to work. Hum is low freq. You are trying to stop inductance, on a strat you have an grounded sheet of aluminium on the back of the scratchplate however on a guitar like this ali or copper sheet in the cavities would be as best you could get unless some sheet was epoxied into the body between the top and body blank - which, come to think of it, is worth a try! These sheets always need to be grounded else they act as huge RF inductors with capacitance. Don't forget common mode rejection: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common-mode_rejection_ratio where you can reverse the magnetic polarity of the centre pickup and thus, with coil tap on the humbucker and using the bridge and middle pickup, still get the noise cancelling. This is how strats are wired.
It's called supply and demand, who is going to get 1000 perfectly replicated guitars out on time to customers, you and your buddy in your garage or an actual factory with CNC capabilities? I'm a custom guitar builder too and plenty of people buy my hand built guitars I just sell a lot less guitars annually than a big company.
