We aren’t dragging it out we are ready to pay the release clause it’s literally all up to him and it’s only taken like 2-3 days I do think we will sign him. But to be honest I would’ve liked to give Carvalho a chance but I don’t think he will haunt us or anything like that it’s just business.

There’s a lot of recency bias with him and yes he is very talented but I don’t think we could offer him the game time he desired also we don’t know if his attitude is a problem, just because he’s smiling in practice doesn’t mean he sat well with the manager/coaching staff. There’s a reason Klopp loaned him so much and he barely played any minutes at Leipzig 🤷🏻♂️ We got a good deal, 20 mill + 7m ad ons and a 18% sell on clause? Very good.
As a new fan, I only have the the preseason to go on, but I liked him. But I don't have a lot to go on. Good luck to him, and hope we can turn that cash into a good acquisition.

Carvallho could play LW but it's not his best or favourite position. Judging from the lack of creativity in Brentfords midfield and the ability of Jensen and Norgaard at disrupting play, I think his most obvious role until thiago comes back is the no.10 in a 5-3-2. Being the passing option for Jensen and Norgaard who can carry the ball and make things happen. Just my opinion, we'll have to wait and see.

I have to respect that the people handling our players on a day to day basis have far more data and eyes on experience of our players but I can’t help feeling that if Fabio is allowed to leave then we will come to regret it. You have to trust the staff to a certain extent but we don’t always get it right, just look at Solanke for example, he was definitely worth keeping, I have seen posts saying Lfc will make 12 million from the sell on clause but if my maths is correct it is supposedly 20% on any profit- hence Bournemouth paid us 19 mill for him and have now sold him for 65 mill, i make that 46 mill profit which at 20% would bring Lfc 9.2 mill in the add on clause , please correct me if I have messed this up. I have to respect that the people handling our players on a day to day basis have far more data and eyes on experience of our players but I can’t help feeling that if Fabio is allowed to leave then we will come to regret it. You have to trust the staff to a certain extent but we don’t always get it right, just look at Solanke for example, he was definitely worth keeping, I have seen posts saying Lfc will make 12 million from the sell on clause but if my maths is correct it is supposedly 20% on any profit- hence Bournemouth paid us 19 mill for him and have now sold him for 65 mill, i make that 46 mill profit which at 20% would bring Lfc 9.2 mill in the add on clause , please correct me if I have messed this up. I just hope if we are letting Fabio leave then we have negotiated a substantial sell on clause though I would much rather we had kept this player.

i mean we got a good fee so can’t be too mad, he still had 4 years left on his deal so i’d of given him a loan for one or two more seasons just to see where he got to but maybe the club thought even after one or two more seasons he wouldn’t be worth more than £25m so may aswell make it permanent now.
