"Give free kicks; slow the game down." 10/10
I use this tactic all the time :D
what a closing line. brilliant!
Never really thought about it before. But I have noticed in some games refs giving more free kicks towards the end of the game. Now it makes sense.
@@adrianruvalcaba2896 Yeah, probably has nothing to do with the teams trying to waste time, starting to give lots of fouls, and taking their time to stand up after a foul. Just the refs wanting to take a breath (in case it´s not clear, sarcasm)
@@user-hs5vb6kc9o It's probably a mix of both.
When Gary Nevilles gasping for air he looks like Franck Ribery
Jay Marchy I’ve been pointing out their similarities for years. Ribéry looks like his older, angrier half brother.
Yeah
Refuse to believe Jon moss passed this
Add Phil Dowd in that list
Alex 😂
Phil Dowd gets a pass cos he was a top Class ref though.
@@arsenalfanrichi hes fucking not
Let's just hope they don't get excited and actually start refereeing.
Ekjoth Singh yes par ji 🇮🇳🇮🇳
I met garynevil
Ekjoth Singh imagine carragher reffing a Liverpool vs United game
MajorOllieFeingold don’t care
wonder how well Kante would do in a beep test
NAS well every pro should be able to complete it..
Conor Hehir even I can as a 16yo 1st team midfielder
Conor Hehir not necessarily. Baring in mind some pros are in their late 30s, some are 15+ stone, and some are goalkeepers
duortsasasauhsoj goalkeepers maybe not but all out field players at the highest level should be able to..
Thori Thoroddsen no one ever has
For Kante this would be a warm up
Saad Lard A warmup? More like a stretch for Kante
Every Football player should be able to complete a beep test
For Eriksen this is a stroll in the park.
Saad Lard then there is park ji sung
yeah bring him when he is 38,,
'The quicker I get to pain the better'. Just shows the mentality instilled at united under ferguson. Proper player, as well as carra at Liverpool.
.
Lies again? Referee slow
Don't play for Liverpool and Utd if you got no heart. Gaz and Carra never quit. Thats what it takes at that level. Failure is not an option. Quality.
true words
Cringey, but true.
True words
true they might not have been the greatest players of all time but they definitely had 2 of the strongest mentalities
That bleep test is surely different than the one we did at school? Level 15 and still got time for a breath on the line ? No chance
Ano
It's a yo yo test. Gives them a recovery zone which you could see marked out by the red and blue cones. Very different test to the bleep test but similarly exhausting. Wouldn't surprise me if these guys were regularly scoring 14 and above on the bleep test.
I was a county level cross country runner at school and I couldn't get passed level 15 and that was literally sprinting from line to line just catching the beeps each time. Cant be the same distance surely unless carragher n Neville in there 40s are county runner level of fitness
I think Bleep test and Yoyo test are two different things. Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember that Yoyo is a litttle longer and slightly more time to rest. At the end of the day, it test the same thing.
@@UncleM_theCatLady i gueds they do the yoyo as the game does slow down from time to time
Me wondering how John moss passed this test 😂😂😂
Hahahaha spot on
Eisa Ak Went to the comments section to write exactly that. This was the first comment I saw 😂😂
You’d be surprised at how many fat people complete marathons
Where was he couldn’t se him in any of the pitctures
@@fplsupport1251 He was having a lunch.
Why does Mike Dean always look so chuffed with himself 😂
why is there an over weight woman in charge of the fitness test LOOL??? PC strikes again??
Michael James see probably exercises but has mars bars at half time instead of oranges
@@michaeljames1044 You do realise weight to height ratio isn't a good indicator of fitness
@@michaeljames1044 maybe she's good at her job? Why are you against women having jobs?
@@michaeljames1044 how do you know she's overweight if you don't know how much she weighs
James milner would walk this so easy the man is a machine.
he still an active player, so its not hard
Why am I watching middle aged men do the beep test
Football referees don't get enough credit.
That's because except for running like dogs they don't deserve to
you've obviously never been a referee then
Qwerty Qwertyson ca
Billy Suleman And without them there wouldn't be a game. Don't be a dick
bit quiet there billy
You have to love these two. From enemys on the pitch to what seems like good friends.
So you're telling me that Jonathan Moss does this? lmao
"just give the free kick so we can slow em down.. " i dont think this was a joke..
It wasn't. Every single referee does this.
Actually it’s a great tactic to take the heat off sometimes. Slow down play, players refocus, everything calms down.
Nev literally doesn't shut up does he hahaha
cocaine
This is Amazing. And its interesting to see Carra and Neville's competitiveness and sport pride come out.
Gary Neville gives his heart and soul at absolutely everything same as Carra, two incredible legends of the game they both would die on the sword for their clubs.
I thought the first test would be to stand in front of a bunch of people and take abuse.
I'm a young coach and i like to respect referee's while I'm on the sideline and also serve as an example for my players. After this video i have gained even more respect for the refereeing job and will continue to act responsible on the sideline. Regards to every single hard working referee :)
I've seen the whole special and it's a fantastic watch! Really informative with great conversations.
Mike Dean barely broke a sweat
unit
It really is a tough job. Damn.
Just watching them run made me sweaty
John moss is probably sitting at home at his couch
Neil Swarbrick absolutely mugged Gary Neville off 😭😂
what did he say? i couldnt make it out.
@@Syko1985 told him it's because he wasn't playing
2:25 Gary did not touch his foot in the line..lol
REMAKE
Who else found this in recommended and thought oh well let's just see
Carragher still has it fitness wise
0:37 - 0:57 😂😂😂😂😂
Also, never noticed how spot on Darren Farley's Carragher impression was
Huge respect to refs on this and the other video. A lot more goes in to it than first thought!
7:29 "Just give freekicks, slow the game down" 😂😂😂
Listening to Gary breathe like that took me back to my pre-season days.
So much banter I LOVE IT!!!
Watching them do that bleed test brings back traumatic memories, I remember only getting onto a four and barely functioning ahaha
7:27 'Just give free kicks to slow the game down !!!' Hahaha
The 1st time i hear these PL referees' voice.
'That's cause you weren't playing' 😂
quality, you can see the ethic in Carragher and Neville,
proper player
i respect their commitment
Very interesting to see them kicking in, it obvious that they lack fitness however the mentality to win and not give in is identical in both players.
That was a great insight well done all.
gary neville killed it in the sprints ...egging the ref on " come on ref " shows how good he was in peak as a right back bombing forward
we watched this on sky months ago
was really awesome
ChampionVlogs me 2
Where is John Moss? I do not think he passes the fitness test.
Teerasut Sungkapalee no chance
he was eating kababs with steve bruce on the sideline cheering the boys on.

Good video, can’t wait for the English version
Love seeing Neville start firing up when he was getting a bit down. Winners mentality at its best
4:12 all the refs are incredibly fit
Great training 😊😊
Great effort on the bleep test. 17 is beast level
Already saw this, was a good program.

Neil Swaberick. You legend.
beep test just brings back terrible middle school memories 😂
Level 15 and half way through I could just about make it to 6 😂
This isn't the bleep test, its the arriet test. It starts at level 7 or 8 and get quicker alot faster than the bleep test does.
Used to love the beep test at school
2:24 Gary you need to go back and hit that line!
"Yea, ya give free kicks to slow the game down" xD
Neville was absolutely wiped after the yo-yo test - the will to complete the next stage is what gets you 8 Premier Leagues, 3 FA Cups and 2 Champions Leagues
I swear when I’m a player sure I can get tired and want water but when I referee, I can run/sprint a whole marathon without water
Great now all the comments are about there being no comments.
I swear to god the Worms computer game was based on Mike Riley.
That bleep run test is very hell 👍🏼👍🏼
‘We’re a team’ and that’s why the former refs NEVER say a bad word against the refereeing of a game.
former valencia manager spotted
I’m just wondering Jorginho could pass this test considering he was outrun by a ref
The bleep test haven't seen that since I was in Year 8.. Almost ten years. DAMN!!
1:48,
in the vast savanna of africa, the most common animals are these beautiful gazelles ...
When Neil swarbrick parred Neville 😂
Auto-subtitles are hilarious on this!
Good to highlight the effort and all the hard training refs do, they deserve more credit and respect, such an thankless job! In any walk of life if someone verbally abuses you they get sacked or arrested, shouldn't be any different in football
haha then end though. "just give more freekicks"
Semi final UCL 2018-2019 - Barcelona vs Liverpool
Rip referee..
Gary Neville and Franck Ribéry should disguise themselves as each other 😂
What did the ref say at 0:48? I couldn't hear him over Neville
"That's 'cause you weren't playing."
Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain is it
Harry: Thank you! Funny as fuck!
He said stop lying
He said that's cause you were asleep!!
0:49 That's gold omg XDXD
Love to see how they would get on refereeing a Liverpool and United game
Great insight to what it takes at a fitness level to be a ref. Fair play lads

The mental strength!!!!!!
Gary was definitely cocky at the end but that shows how he puts his mind over body to convince himself to keep going
Eye opener
Impressive level of fitness for a pair of defenders who packed it in 10 years ago
We’ll be happy to see Ref. World cup!
give freekicks to slow the game down.... lol
That was Phil Dowd in a nutshell.
I’m in love with Gary Neville, the absolute head on him! Getting stronger 💪
Mariner looks really excited when speaking to Carragher, allegiance to Liverpool confirmed
I'm coming from the future to say that this comment didn't age well 😂
Man... the good Ol' Bleep Test.
Carra played many extra time games during his LFC days while Gary played only fergie time. That explains their fitness level difference.
Nor Syarul And who won the most trophies?😂
Bro, I don't think you know what fergie time means, let me give you an example to illustrate. Let's say for example manu was tied in extra time, and let's say that extra time was officially 4 min, fergie time is the time manu would actually score the winning goal which in this case would be something like in the 5th minute or so.
So by that logic Neville should be the fitter of the 2

How it feels to do the beep test at Uni😂😂😂
Here we are watching how referees play 😂
Neville is just like me a year after I graduated
Mike Dean was pissed off at nev weren’t he 😂
Honestly believe in Neville when he says he kicks in !
brilliant
for LUCAS TORREIRA this is a cakewalk
I never thought my amateur rugby fitness training is actually almost the same as PGMOL referee fitness training. I don't mean it in any bad way. Just wanted to say my previous coach did a good job in training us to have great amount of fitness. He used to be a referee too, both in amateur league of rugby and football. Most rugby athlete pro or amateur in my country do play both rugby and football because we appreciate both sport
