You can unclip it, BUT...you'll risk breaking the internal tabs which would not be good. The reason why I removed the mirror, was to access some of the internal tabs to push them loose.
@@justuskarlt8625 I have heard of people breaking their mirrors because they used too much force, but you're right. There is more risk involved. Lyle, I know you mentioned that it's clipped in properly, but I would check again. See if something might be binding it. Mine install worked fine without any tilting issues.
The method I used to remove my rear diffuser wasn't the safety for your OEM unit. I would recommend that you start by removing the screws from underneath. Then you'll have to unclip the right and left side, then finally the middle portion of the diffuser from the bottom. At that point, you'll need to pull as the OEM diffuser is clipped into the bumper with roughly 10 clips. It will take some force, but just take your time. Good luck...
Good to hear the video was helpful to you! As far as my rear diffuser goes, I no longer have the link as it was an eBay purchase. If you're in the States, most of the vendors here sell the same diffuser purchased from the same manufacture from China.

Hey Eric, congrats on the purchase! You'll really enjoy the S3. To answer your question, my mirrors ARE NOT power folding so I cannot tell you with conviction, if the mirrors are safe to fold backwards or not. Perhaps you could try slightly? If there is a ton of resistance, then do not attempt it.
I did this on my 2015 S3 with the power folding mirrors. I did move the mirror around and push it forward. No issues since. There is a "normal" amount of resistance when you try to do it but it wasn't overly hard.
