- Max Verstappen secures his eighth consecutive pole position, tying the record of Aryton Senna. McLaren may have gone one better if not for a Hulkenberg tow for the Red Bull, while Sergio Perez was eliminated in Q3 after crashing in the final practice session. Ferrari and Mercedes make up the rest of the top drivers, with RB's Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo also competitive.

The fact that Yuki and Daniel got into Q3, shows you how good that honda engine is and how good the Redbull is, and how Perez underperformed.
They should honestly put Yuki or Daniel in the redbull. Then they can put Lawson in the rb. They have both shown they can drive that rb when it’s good and Perez just isn’t putting in the performances he should be with the car
The Honda engine isn’t that good mate, the red bull aero is what’s making them good. You will see about engine performance when the rules aren’t being manipulated to stop Mercedes

Another false dawn for every other team against RB 😭, back to normal. I will not blame Perez totally, RB concentrated on getting car right for Max and did not care about Perez. Toto has been smoking the funny stuff thinking Merc are on same level as RB. VCARB we’re the surprise in Yuki hands.
They did care about Perez, but Perez and someone who spends 99%of his time on the sim is incomparable

You dont have an eye for detail do you or do you just watch highlights of f1... max is 0.07 ahead in quali (and that was with a 7kmh overspeed from a slipstream which gave him around 0.14s over his previous lap ). From practice in the long run he has just as little margin, compared to their pre upgrade car that was easily 0.200 to 0.600 ahead per lap

@@peterporkeresq.2817 Bro. I'm a Hamilton fan, but you have to say the truth sometimes. That qualifying was good. Go and look at the times the Red bull did on Free practice. Their car was not stable. Perez couldn't get into Q3. Max had some luck with slip stream from in the first sector, but he still did a fantastic job.
I don’t know why people bring Hamilton into discussion. Merc and therefore Ham are irrelevant, there won’t be fighting for the front, so of course Max will finish ahead of him. It’s not destroyed, it’s just that they are in a different class at the moment. Yuki drove a great race but you would say that Max destroyed him, because Yuki is not racing Max.
Bottas would be a good signing for Williams. Two competent drivers. Scrap the young and pay drivers.

Agree, Max had his race engineer gone in practice p1 and p2 and max is was lost and shit. Max’s engineer and all supporting cast addresses the balance issues on Max’s car and to suit his driving and not Sergio’s. Sergio’s race engineer is shit, and Max’s p1 and Sergio is P11 is evident of this.

Perez and Alonso are direct rivals to Tsunoda, so they tried to stop Tsunoda's dominance of FP3 session by going into the wall! Actually that works in Q3, Tsunoda missed his best lap.
After Max secured P1 he's now on iracing in a 24hr race which he is currently leading. Tomorrow he'll have that 2nd tier actual F1 race before returning to iracing
Bottas is getting the raw end of this Sauber\Audi transition. The team is dismal operationally and their car is the most basic on the grid. I feel for the guy man

Compared to last year, Perez has done very well so far this year, and is presently only 33 points off Verstappen, Which is why i have to question what we see, or the way he is now perceived. The only rationale that makes any kind of sense is that there is something else going on. This isn't just about the driver.
First we had Verstappen driving off the track as if his settings had been dialed back, and now we have Perez suffering the same misfortunes, Or put another way we had Verstappen as the prelude to Perez's unwarranted poor form. Makes you wonder who's directing our sport? It's just a matter of time beforee we hear, Perez was forced to use the failed upgrades, whilst Verstappen insisted on the car without the upgrades.

.066 was the difference between Max's first sector on the first run and his first sector on the second run with the tow. He went into the first chicane way faster and had to hit the brakes too hard and that cost him speed (two yellow mini-sectors) to start the 2nd sector on run 2. So the .066 gain was probably mostly negated. And Lewis got the exact same tow from Max in his 1st run, which was his fastest. Please tell me how Max and Hulk talked to each other to arrange this? Is there a secret Haas - Red Bull communication channel. You really are ridiculous sometimes. Did Max agree to two Lewis in the same exact same way?

Would love to see a Thailand race on the calendar, seeing how there's a Thai team and driver in the paddock. Why would they even think about having a race in Korea? Gotta love seeing the tighter competition in qualifying. Maybe we'll get a good race as well, but this track has typically had the best races because it's so difficult to overtake there. Thanks for the good reporting. Been really enjoying your videos. Since the race is a little later, you won't get to experience the joy that US fans experience regularly having to get up by 6 am typically to watch an F1 race.

I think Perez has only been hypnotised to come alive when Lewis is about, out of all the cars that passed him today, he only tried to fight Lewis and over the years with him in a red bull that is the only fight I see him put up!

I don't understand why Red Bull would sign Perez for next year. I think he has shown and decline in overall performance the past few years and he simply can't be trusted to consistently perform at a high level. The best I think he can offer is to putting in okay laps and races, but that's the best you could realistically expect from him. He has shown that he can drop off for long stretches where he doesn't appear to understand at all why he's so far back or what he should do about it. Occasionally he will pump out a spectacular performance, but he is far more likely to make more decisions or just plain have a stinker if a day. If the race at the front actually becomes contested I think he would be a liability for Red Bull best year. Ideally you'd want a driver that not only can win when Max has a stinker or screws up, but also consistently takes away points positions that would otherwise go to the closest Red Bull competition. Red Bull can basically sign whoever they want, and probably at a discount. Why would you take such a massive risk with Perez where you're basically just praying and hoping he has a miracle season (compared to previous two)? They can sign a driver with such skill that a mediocre, below expectation season for them would be equivalent to Perez's best ever, no mistakes season. I know there's more to it than that and far less certainly than I implied, but I just don't see Perez as even an option for next season if Red Bull expect serious competition. There are now multiple teams that look like they might truly start competing for the title next season.
