Well the models are the Cooper 2 door, Cooper 4 door, Cooper convertible, clubman, or the countryman. All available in S models. Clubman and countryman available in all 4 models. There is also the jcw versions of these cars. And a hybrid countryman and an electric Cooper. The paceman hasn’t been made in like 5 years
OMG this mini never never makes me wants it more than any other car, but sadly it's too much for my wallet to handle. I wish there some other car manufacturer creates a inspired car out of mini with and affordable price tag to own. urgh seeing that car make my heart hurts😢. Nice review as always sir Caco 👍
@@kotabg1946 Maybe before, but now in Malaysia, we only got Suzuki Swift Sport which if convert to Philippine Peso around 1.7 million Peso (RM140,000.00). Not so cheap to own that one here also 😅
No way to reach 226 kph in philippines .. I have driven in philippines many times maximum speed is 120 kph & for few minutes only .. average speed is 60 kph
The Honda Civic RS and Toyota GR86 in US & Canada is way cheaper, it will cost you around P1.3M only. The government should review again the taxation of cars.
bcoz if they dont make much taxes on that cars you mentioned they will not make much corrupt on the government. meaning the higher taxes means the higher kickback. thats why corruption will never end in the philippines

It's not worth it. In the US I purchased this car for $37,600 including tax, title and papers and drove it for 6 months only to bang my head on the steering wheel a few 1000 times. The handling of this car does not compare to a clubman S which has the same engine under the hood. The problem with this car is the amount of car this engine is carrying. It is no BMW, and unless Mini/BMW put a better engine, this car is simply a pretty drag.
as a point of contention, it's not just taxes, tariffs, import taxes, whatever that's the main reason, it would still be around 2million+ or less than 3million if it were just because of those. The biggest factors that most people and clearly you guys are either unaware of or just left out whether intentionally or not is basic *SUPPLY AND DEMAND* (where since there is low demand but also low supply that caters to our market, then they increase prices to make up for revenue and losses from brining the model in), transpo fees especially if this will be coming straight from the UK and not from their Indonesian, Malaysian or Indian plants, the fact that this is supposed to be an RHD car (meaning the steering wheel is on the right not the left unlike ours) which means conversion from RHD to LHD will add to the cost and basic greed from Mini PH i.e. just them "adjusting" the price so that they can make a profit even with the low number of sales. it's highly misleading to judge blame taxes and tariffs
well can't expect much of filipinos to know the macroeconomic side of things.. even with its supposed price tag of 2M, it's still steep for any high middle income earner that they'd most likely get a japanese car, which they can just bring to their trusted mechanic when warranty is over or even when it's not.

Plus British cars aren't as prevalent here in Asia let alone the Philippines since we're more used to the Asian offerings or the Asian cars of America's Ford. Hence why it's not only dumb but misleading to just outright compare prices of US cars to that of PH cars since the US and UK already has a well established, cheaper and much more benefitting trade route than the UK and Asia. Even the Malaysian Clubman when converted costs around RM 236,804 (2,833,233.42 php) for the lower variant and RM 375,003 (4,486,710.66 php) for the top variant. So in essence, the Asian ones are already waaay more expensive than the American ones that costs around 30,450 USD (1,588,850.55 php). Add the fact that they have to convert it into an LHD car instead of the default RHD, basic supply & demand factors and Mini PH needing to jack up the price to pay off for any losses only increases the price even further than it should be. It's the thing a lot of Filipino including Autodeal is either ignorant about or are blatantly dismissive of it and just blames taxes alone and use it as a scapegoat.
