The high-tech and refined interior of New Austral offers comfort worthy of the family models that have marked the history of Renault. The jewel of its generous and welcoming interior, the OpenR screen combines the display of dashboard data with that of navigation and multimedia integrating the best of Google services and applications. Its two large 12" diagonal screens, to which is added the 9.3" head-up display, total an area of nearly 1000 cm2 for an intuitive, immersive and connected driving experience.
At the forefront of modernity, New Austral has 32 driving aids (ADAS), MULTI-SENSE settings and 4CONTROL Advanced, the very latest four-wheel steering system developed by Renault. So many useful, proactive and intelligent technologies for the comfort, pleasure and safety of its occupants.
The first Renault vehicle designed on the third-generation CMF-CD platform co-developed within the Alliance, New Austral offers a new version of the E-Tech "Full Hybrid" system, both more powerful and more efficient, and a petrol engine Mild Hybrid 12V. Different electrification technologies for a range that covers all uses for individuals and fleets.
The exterior design of the New Austral not only shows characteristics of the SUV category. It also comes across as athletic, sensual and even technological in equal measure. With the New Austral, however, an exclusive version of the Esprit Alpine is also available for the first time in Renault's history. The name says it all: With the new Austral, Esprit Alpine stands for a sportier look with design features that express its dynamism.
The elegant, high-tech interior of the New Austral follows the tradition of comfort in the family models with which Renault has often made history.
The crowning glory of the spacious and inviting interior is the OpenR screen, which displays both the instrument panel and the navigation and multimedia systems, but also integrates Google services and applications. The two large 12-inch screens and the 9.3-inch head-up display together result in a monitor and presentation area of almost 1,000 cm2, which enables an intuitive, comprehensive and connected driving experience.
In terms of safety and driving assistance, the New Austral combines the latest technologies, with 32 driving aids (ADAS), the well-known MULTI-SENSE driving modes and the latest all-wheel steering from Renault, the 4CONTROL Advanced. All the useful, proactive and intelligent functions serve comfort, driving pleasure and of course safety.
The New Austral is the first Renault model to be based on the new third-generation CMF-CD platform developed by Allianz. It comes with the latest, more powerful and more efficient version of the E-Tech full hybrid drive. A 12 V mild hybrid petrol engine is also available.
These two stages of electrification cover the different needs of customers, from private individuals to use in vehicle fleets.
The New Austral is produced in the state-of-the-art factory in Palencia (Spain), where the strictest quality controls take place at every stage of production. Nothing is left to chance, from the selection of the materials to the functional tests and assembly to the painting of the vehicles. But quality and durability are also part of the concept on which the New Austral was built. Experts from Renault and customer panels assessed around a thousand criteria during the development work in order to optimize the new model in all areas.

What's wrong with french car manufacturers? Peugeot 408, Renault Austral - just brilliant looking cars
😁👍
I don’t know about reliability or ergonomics, but the design is very cool. I do find the sound the turn signals make annoying tho
@@matyi63 , the sound of the turn signal should be annoying, because it should get your attention. Same goes for alarm, claxon, unfasten seatbelt warning sound etc. ))
@@mrbasfed1948 I don't really get why it needs your attention so badly, unlike the other examples you gave. You see it on the dashboard. On Bmw's for example it's a nice clicking sound, not very loud, but it still manages to get your attention. To be honest it's not dangerous not to have your entire attention dedicated to your turn signals as long as you're consciously aware they are on. Annoying turn signals could even trick you into not using them unconsciously while driving (like when you don't use your wipers when they became used and make a sound)
@@matyi63 sounds can be changed in the car parameters menu ;)
I have this car as well and I'm loving this piece of beautiful engineering. My fuel consumption is really nice with this car. When you get to know this car, you can lower your fuel consumption by a lot. I'm now down to 4,9 liter per 100 kilometers. With a full fuel tank I can drive for a month
This is consumption in the city? can't wait for my Austral-E
I have one question: do you ever notice that when cruising around 50km/h the engine revs up for a few seconds? Instant consumptions goes to 18-20 then comes back down. Is that normal?
@@voicheci007 Yeah, I have that too. What I do is accelerate to about 55 km/h so that it changes gear and then the consumption gets lower again. I then decrease speed to around 52km/h. This helps out a lot
@@TOPCyber that's interesting, I thought this gearbox doesnt have traditional gears. So basically when it revs up like that, we are sort of "in between" two gears, I guess
@@voicheci007 it has automatic gear shifting in the engine itself. But when it revs up and you hit 50 km/h it is almost in the transition to the next gear. So you have a very large fuel consumption at that time. Pull up a little bit faster to about 55 km/h and you will feel it shift to a higher gear and revs are going down. Then you can lower your speed to about 52 km/h. When you go lower to about 50 km/h you will go back to a lower gear and revs will increase again. You need to have a good feel what the engine does. But when you have the feel, you will see fuel consumption going down
Thank you for the nice ride. How would you compare the cabin noise with the Qashqai e-POWER? Did you hear a difference or more or like the same? Thank you in advance.
Thanks for feedback 👍🙏 i think are quite similar … hard to tell
Your take offs at traffic lights seems like a launch. I thought easy does it with hybrids. Would be interesting the fuel consumption in that regard.
Yea i will test this to 👍
Génial cette balade avec ce chouette Renault Austral Merci Dan
Merci ami 👍🙏
i honestly thing renault upped their build quality ... looks pretty well made
Yes 👍
Hello my friend, I know you have a Tesla, but what would you buy now?
Now i would buy a very economical car probably full hybrid or electric. Depend on my budget and plans…. For moment iam happy with Model 3
I heard that a new Renault car similar to this vehicle will be released in Korea soon. I think driving assistance devices will be developed similarly. Will there be an automatic lane change function in Austral?
how compare against Xtrail E Power? :)
Depend what you are looking for Darius

@@SDADanCars i will get mine delivered next month
@@joseescc how long was the wait time from purchase to delivery? Are you in Europe?
@@coxmanbgg hi mine took 3 moonths spirit alpine grey
@@coxmanbgg Hi, I'm in Scotland. Had test drive in Iconic today, truly amazing car, delivery end Feb beginning March.
Update. Changed dealer, they did not follow up on any enquiry I had, so I won't be testing out their service levels or anything else. Another dealer, who does follow up on enquiries, delivering in 6 days.
Battery size is 2 kWh...
it's not plug in so battery is only for recovery energy from driving
Could have done without that indicator noise, is there any way of changing the tone or maybe turning it off?
