  • The underground railroad was a pathway used by runaway slaves to escape the shackles of slavery and pursue a life of freedom. Traditionally, the railroad headed North toward freedom but a small portion of runaways instead turned South toward Florida.

    The picture you are using for your video is NOT of "black Seminoles" That is Pio Pico and his wife. Pio Pico is, one of many wealthy landowning "black Mexicans" that founded the city of Los Angeles when it was still Mexico. Pico blvd in LA is named after him.🙄

We have been and continue to be lied to. Therefore, I paused the video at the very beginning to search a comment such as yours. After finding and reading your comment, I shut the video completely down. Why should I/we allow lies to continue entering our conscious and/or subconscious. When we have our spirits and/or our intuitions to lead, to show, and to tell us what need to be known and/or verified. Once again, Thawadah/Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Namasté; loving, sharing, caring, and giving.

    The Seminoles did not lose the war against the usa, especially in the southern region. It was swamp land and they fought furiously against the american soldiers. It was the costliest war at that time. From USSA Yaholo/Osceloa 1818 to 1852 The USA Gov't to save face, because it wasn't financially viable any longer so they brokered a deal with the remaining Seminoles and allowed them to live in peace to this very day. The original Seminoles were black and brown with straight and curly hair, naturally when the slaves fleeing from forced servitude came upon them with open arms in most cases. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. They shared a likeness and a common foe. Stop telling half truths!!!!

    Seminole isn't a Muskogee Creek word.
    It derives from the spanish word cimerron which means runaways/escapees. Spaniards used the term cimarrones to refer to the self emancipated Africans from the English colonies and the refugee Native American/Indigenous people who sought refuge in the jungles of Florida.The English learned the word from the Spaniards and anglicized it to Seminole. The English-Americans also shortened the term to Maroon.

  • @skinimin6746
    @skinimin6746 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Seminole is not a Creek word they adopted it from the Spanish who pronounced a word known as Cimarron. Escaped slaves were called this by the Spanish and joined with scattered Indian groups. Seminole was never specific Indian tribe name.

    • @anthonyjones5911
      @anthonyjones5911 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Seminole is translated from La Seminole, which is the discription used by the Spaniard to discribe the Yamasse People (spelling may not be correct) meaning the wild ones, the runaways because they were fierce in battle and never allowed themselves to remain captured. They are my people.

    • @skinimin6746
      @skinimin6746 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anthonyjones5911 I agree Seminole's mean wild or other variations can be used like untamed because there are many words for wild.
      And I agree also the Yamasse were a part of this. But I wanted point out that Seminole is not a Creek word. A lot of people are claiming Spanish and English names given to indigenous people. As well, as claiming names that were corrupted by Mongolian Altai before the Europeans started the slave trade. We've been fighting of colonizers a long time. Mongolian Altai people now run so many of the counsels and if not them half white ones do.

    Can you go before 1619 or 1865 to give us history lessons? We as black people weren't all slaves. In reality, many of us were FreeMen and FreeWomen on this land. Many of us were here before any other nation of people arrived on this land. The narrative for us always starts and ends with being captured, going into slavery, then being emancipated. America does not want to recognize the true indigenous black people of this land and this video seems to substantiate that position.

      Genesis 11:1-9
      1 Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. 3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” 5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.” 8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

    That is not a photo of a Black Seminole. That is a photo of Pio Pico who of African DNA. He was a Governor of CA who was of Latin Descent...
    I am a Descendant of the Black Seminoles ( Freedman Citizen) Dosar Barkus Band of Black Seminoles..
    Seminole Nation Of Oklahoma. Many idiots do not know of our history of my ancestors who forcibly removed from the Everglades of Florida with the full blood Seminoles to Ft Gibson Indian Territory (Oklahoma) after the 3rd Seminole War in 1838-1849...
    My Ancestors arrived in Wewoka and Sasakwa before Oklahoma Statehood in 1907..
    We are documented at the Oklahoma Historical Society in Oklahoma City...

    The couple in the thumbnail are not Seminole. That is the last governor of Alta California, Pio Pico and his wife Maria. Pico was born in San Gabriel California. He was black, native American and Spanish.

    Some Seminoles fought with the Confederacy such as John Jumper

    • @dnleon9921
      @dnleon9921 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      John Jumper thought they could get an Indian state if the sided with the Confederacy. A lot of Seminole deserted the Confederates and many joined the Union in the first place under Creek chief Opothle Yoholo and fled to Kansas. They also didn't mention is that chief Wildcat and his Seminoles went to Mexico with Chief John horse and his Black Seminoles.

      Im black and I dont think were indigenous to America. Still this is facts. And these people deserve recognition for there part in Seminole history. 2 thousand Seminoles have Black Dna out of 18 thousand. Thats 1 out of 9 Seminoles. They did t get the black dna due to them being here first but do to my people fleeing to thier villages. We came over on slave ships. These people need to be aknowleged.
