  • The Documentary was created for my and Alycia Cypress's National History Day to tell one story; the story of the World's Largest Native American Gaming Empire. The Seminole Tribe of Florida survived unmeasurable tragedy but have persevered and really triumphed as a Tribe.

    As First Nations myself, veteran and business owner. When man sins against his neighbor without cause, the creator always visits the iniquity of the father to 3-4 generations. I bet if Andrew Jackson understood this law, he would have behaved totally different.

    Osceola did not die in custody. He was broken out of Fort Sumter and later died in a hunring "accident" by 2 warriors who tipped him out of a canoe and where he was drowned by an alligator. An agreement to end the war was made between seminoles and U.S. forces where Osceola who had kept fueling the war, would die "by accident" and defuse the seminole resistance while allowing the U.S. to retreat and allowing both sides to effectively save face. This was confirmed by a discussion i had with a Mikasuki historian 35-40 years ago

    Why do you think they were “running away”? My friend they were black running from slavery in Georgia!,, Spaniards also told them that if theyd come to Florida which was spains territory that they’d be free. There was no slavery there at that time. it was the Seminole and the escaped slaves you kinda leaving out the fact that most of the fighting was over slavery and land.

    Nice documentary - Note: Osceola was never a Seminole Chief--Osceola moved from Georgia to Florida, where, although not a chief, he came to be acknowledged as a leader of the Seminoles. He led the young Indians who opposed the Treaty of Payne’s Landing (1832), by which some of the Seminole chiefs agreed to submit to removal from Florida. In 1835 he and a group of braves murdered Charley Emathla, a chief who was preparing to emigrate with his people, and Gen. Wiley Thompson, the U.S. Indian agent at Ft. King. source: Encylopedia Brittanica

    The Seminole Tribe has a very German flag! White and black were Prussian colours (though black on top) while black red and yellow is the flag of the German Republic 1848, 1919 - 33 and since 1949.

      Black, white, yellow, and red embody concepts such as the Four Directions, four seasons, and sacred path of both the sun and human being. They have great cultural significance to Native Americans. What does it mean to Germans?

    • @rudolfkraffzick642
      @rudolfkraffzick642 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The flag of Germany has just political meaning. Black was the dominant colour of the uniform of freedom fighters against occupation of France at the age of Napoleon about 1800. Red stands for the sacrificies of lives and yellow (or gold) for independence and personal freedom.
      In the oldest German flag, gold represented heaven or the spirit world.
