I'm going to be the new song leader at my church. We lost our song leader and his family a few services back and our pastor was praying that the Lord would send us a new person to do this so he just has to concentrate on his sermons and not leading songs also. The other night I was up late studying and putting together a Wednesday night bible study message for the church and the Lord started pressing down on my heart to stand up and volunteer for the position. Singinsts g the hymns and lifting my voice up to glorify the Lord is one of my favorite parts of the church service. So I asked and prayed and have been given the go ahead to fill the empty spot. Please pray for me as I embark on this new ministry of the Lord. Less of me and More of Him! Im just a willing vessel.
I'll pray for you because I'm in a very similar situation. Its a small church and growing by God's grace and the young pastor works full time at another job, and preaches and leads worship and prayer meetings!! He knows he can't do it all, so he's asked me if I could help out with worship. I've done it 25 years ago and now I'm having to learn new songs and a lot about leading. However, the most important lesson for me has been praying for guidance and practice, practice, practice! The Lord gave me this ability (gift) to play guitar well, but I always remember where my ability to play comes from and I love Him for using it to lead others to Worship Him. When worship is done well, with humility, then the leader is actually the one following the sheep as they worship their shepherd! What a privilege to be the one who gets the most out of the Worship!! Keep the faith brother.
I will definitely pray for you. I used to run home fellowships with my wife and always grabbed the guitar and led songs. In fellowships now we take turns leading, usually its singing along with internet videos interspersed with prayer. So what youre talking about is a different approach. I suppose i could DO it, but would rather focus on playing well, songwriting, arranging... as part of "making his praise GLORIOUS". Different approaches. But i certainly support you on YOUR journey.

I usually asked like "How are you today?" and they replied "Beyond great!" so I said "Hallelujah. That's all because God is good right? Some people who maybe feel not great these days, feel tired or failed, I just want to say that God is always good, and today I want you to feel it. The greatest time of your life, when you let God come in your heart. So let us prepare our heart and mind to focus, only on him." I think something like that.

Hi, I'm Jillian from the Philippines and not so long ago before I started leading the worship. To answer the question in the first seconds of the vid, I usually open the worship by asking the congregation to greet the person next to them "Good morning sis/bro!" and say "Ang ganda/ ang pogi mo today" which translates to "You look beautiful and handsome today." Thank you for this video! Really guilty on saying those common phrases whenever I lack preparation. I want to improve for the glory of the Lord and lead a spirit-filled worship. :)

I usally say "Happy Worship Day everyone" and I would ask them to greet everyone as well and then I provide a quick sharing of my devotion related to what our line up is. I rely on the holy spirit for a spontaneous introduction before our Praise and Worship to the Lord
Whatever message you give, be intentional and true. People would rather hear a short or slightly jumbled but passionate greeting rather than a poetic welcome without any passion or emotion behind it.
I usually say I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord ,and we enter with Thanksgiving and praise for he has been good to us all week let's worship together and welcome him in

The past years I have been serving in worship team and my mom is a staff member, so we both get to church 1-2 hours earlier than everyone. I'm glad and thankful there is video like this. I believe God does want us to prepare ourselves for worship, especially, if you are a worship leader. Sometimes, I have done the silent thing, but in my heart, I feel like that's not my best I can do for God. I have noticed that if I am more prepared to talk, then I am more confident to do so. I absolutely believe the Holy Spirit should be speaking through you, too, and preparing ahead of time helps you bring out the message of the Holy Spirit even more. A pastor, usually, prepares for the message, and I believe God is pleased with this preparation. Without practice, a musician would not be able to perform their best. God wants the best for us and from us. He unconditionally loves us no matter what we do. When we follow Jesus the best we know how and grow deeper in our relationship with our Heavenly Father, our lives become more and more blessed with the Holy Spirit and amazing Joy of the Lord! I think that is something worth practicing.💛

Welcome everyone in a genuine way. • "As if you were talking to friends." • Think about the morning most church goers have had, be aware of the fact that an invitation to turn their focus to God may be needed 3. Point to truth. •Explain why you're doing what you're doing. • You can share a scripture etc. 4. I generally try to include something current - weather, time change, etc - and then lead into scripture relevant to the first song or focus of the service that day, however I have prepared it - whether I read it or just refer to it. This past Sunday was right after "Spring Forward" and the sun enters the sanctuary spectacularly so I spoke about The Light. Then I mentioned how reading different versions of scripture are enlightening and can sometimes shed new light on a specific reference, so I explained who JB Phillips was and read Romans 11:35-36 from the New Testament in Modern English and ended saying, Please stand and join us as we sing of our amazing, marvelous, wonderful Savior! And we sang I Stand Amazed (How Wonderful).

Start on time! The musicians and I used to worship wether the church was full or empty! I also used to start with ‘the Bible declares’ Scriptures is always a great said way into worship.
@@anu73257 not difficult at all. Stay in prayer, start on time, try not to pump the crowd, you will encounter a lot of resistance if you do that! The most important thing is to allow God to lead you.

As for opening, I say Good morning New Life Center! Let’s give the Lord a great big Hallelujah! I read the verse of the day, Then I may say hello/welcome to the new people, maybe a small testimony, and say if you can honor the Lord by standing with us let’s pray. (Some people are older, it’s hrs for them to stand) We like to say the This is My Bible pledge...(I call it a declaration) After that, 11:00 and I start exactly at 11, when you start on time, people will see that will start being there on time.
Us sually i always say Goodmorning church are you ready to serve and worship God the king of all kings and the Lord of Lords common church lets give our best worship to him and im blessed because you all here Amen hallelujah!!!
