As Big Ben strikes midnight, we bring in the new year live from the Embankment with London's famous fireworks, one of the most stunning firework displays to be seen anywhere in the world. For the first time in three years, the annual spectacular returns to the banks of the River Thames to light up London’s iconic landmarks.

My husband and I always watch London's New Year celebration from home here in New Jersey, USA. This year's was beyond amazing. When the drones formed the Imperial crown, our jaws dropped. By the time Her Majesty's voice came on, we were in tears. What a wonderful, tasteful salute to her and King Charles. To the folks who created the display, pat yourselves on the back. I sincerely regret that I did not think to go to London this year to witness the tribute to HRH. That was a truly majestic tribute. The Odell track was a perfect choice of song, and Dench's words "Farewell ma'am, and thank you for everything" was just as sad as it was beautiful.
Whereas I thought it was a terrible choice if soundtrack... but I likewise regret not thinking ahead to what would be in the show. A nice tribute.

I was there at the Westminster bridge and watched the fireworks in live. Spectacular scene and great fireworks show! Feel so meaningful to hear the Big Ben to count down. Happy New Year to everyone and have a peaceful and prosperous New Year of 2023!

I watched the London eye since 2014 and singing auld land syne in the middle of the road and I’ve done that for nearly 10 years
The "Stefania" Ukrainian song made me cry, can't express the gratitude to people of UK. And of course the tribute to Queen means everything, so touching 💙

When those drones morphed from the 50p image of the Queen into Charles, I got a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye. 5 mins later I am up dancing, cheering and smiling like a crazy person. Only the London new year show can make you go through so many emotions. They really depict the year so well to music, lighting and fireworks. The Ukrainian section was so moving, too.

Be careful what you wish for. I would swap with you tomorrow. This country has gone to the dogs, run by a corrupt government who don't give a toss about the people of the UK. We have homeless veterans on the streets while the government lets illegal immigrants stay in 5-star hotels paid for with our taxes. The nurses' ambulance paramedics and firemen and just about every private sector worker you can think of is striking. Ambulances are queuing for over 12 hours with seriously ill people in the back trying to get into A&E to recieve treament. The government of this country stinks to high heaven, so forgive me if I don't get excited watching millions of pounds go up in smoke whilst old people are scared to put heating on in their homes and children are going hungry.
It was once a great country, unfortunately for us people that were born here, it is no longer.
Well if you did come to England you'd be on the next plane back to sunny America because you'd soon find out how horrible this country really is with its cold wet grey weather. So if I we're you please don't ever leave AMERICA to come here because there's nothing good to see here.And I'm just being really honest and if people don't like what I've said TOUGH SH*T we can say what we want we live in a "Democracy" well sort of and I'm just expressing my opinion like it or not.. Absolutely no Dubai take the first place they took two Guinness world records for the largest fireworks display and the largest laser lights Dubai make a unique artistic celebration from the world's tallest building then I could say London and Sydney should take the second place but Dubai is way far better than London it's the most visited city at the New year's eve

I lived in Dubai and was there during NY Eve fireworks - in front of the Burj - fireworks look good - but as many things in Dubai, it feels very superficial - just trying to be biggest - but you can't beat London's vibe - Big Ben kicking things off, sync'd to music from the UK, the Queen's voice etc etc. Overall London's celebrations are superior. @@Tom-brendi

I was in the st Julians crowd while I waited for the nerve wracking moment for Woody.EXE to get the fireworks up and going, the moment the disaply talked about me (Queen Elizabeth III); I was crying. I don’t know how Woody.EXE does all the incredible displays from, I believe he’s inspired by London. It was incredible

All the tributes made me feel so proud! Such a welcoming country, the safety for citizens to love who they love, 50 years of pride! Shelter for Ukraine and so on. Ya the united states has a ball drop, but it's nothing compared to this. Plus every year it's some stupid led ball that drops, and then confetti drops. Then you see this beautiful display and it blows everyone out of the water.
My fireworks in St Julian’s, Wales is nuts and I think the disaply might pay tribute to me and Woody.EXE this year because I have been ill in February 2023 since we both had opened a private United 93 memorial for the families to visit but they haven’t yet

2024 will mark the 100th year anniversary that Big Ben brought in the New Year via broadcast. The first time people outside London wouldve heard the famous bell. Ringing in the New Year.

It was very well planned and executed. I watched New Zealand's version five hours before and I said I'll wait for the London fireworks. Apart from the pushed political messages, it was worth it.

I am late to this, but this has been the best performance London has ever put on! My favourite part was the tribute towards Her Majesty, which was so amazing to see on such an event like this.
Those were spectacular fireworks. For someone who lives in Wisconsin, in the USA, there was so much love and thoughtfulness put into the music selections. I couldn't even watch NYC 's Dick Clark's New Year's Eve show. I was so embarrassed and upset about it all. Queen Elizabeth, even though I don't live there, will always be Her Majesty to me. Have a safe, healthy, and most of all blessed New Year's. This will be a year that will need all the compassion, strength, and caring we have. Be safe, and God bless.

I was there in the centre on the river bank, absolutely exhilarating when they done the shower of golden shimmers it was like nothing I had ever seen, and the brightness of the pride colours was just great
