- A new character made their debut in Pokemon Black 2 and White 2. His name is Colress, a Scientist that is interested of Pokemon potential.

Main goal of these video concept ideas:
My main goal for these kind of videos is to be as creative as possible!
Let me explain:
Firstly, my very first channel Mixeli post tons of Gameplays from Every Generation (Which once again was played and recorded by myself in it's entirety. It took me many years of works.)
My video have Educational Value and let me explain why: It does provide help to the user who watch the video. One of the few example for that is which musics is played from my gameplays. It could easily be found on video cards (The exclamation mark "!" you see on the video above at the right) and vice versa. (This mean that on this video for example, you could also find my actual battle gameplays of where this music is played)
Secondly, My video are transformative enough, I took the time to play the game and recording the musics. I took the time to improve it's original quality using Vegas Pro. Thanks to a program called "Track EQ" that you can find on Vegas Pro.
This program allow the user to enhance it's original quality and further improving it. This need concentration as each version has different audio quality.
Thirdly and as you have noticed: On each Generation, I use different background that I bought on a website called Shutterstock. (Which I have bought at least 336 pictures background, just so I can become as creative as possible and also work on a lot of different style using those background)
This kind of concept was created by myself since 2011. Today it has become one of the main concept of my channel that I personally created.
Lastly is to bring the community together. I have noticed that so many people are commenting and giving their opinions on the video, sharing their experience about characters from the game, confirming theory, saying funny stuff and I find this extremely amazing and interesting! I don't want their comment to be unnoticed so I have plan for the future of my content about commenting and sharing their experience on videos that I will produce one day!

I love how this generation was regarded as the worst when it came out, but now as the peak of the franchise.
famitsu gave it a 40/40 it was absolutely NOT regarded as the worst generation lol
I think it's just cause it's weird, like I remember playing Pokemon Black the first time and I started to question "is this really a pokemon game?".
That's my experience anyway, and I can't play it as a child since apparently we bought a pirated version and my Pokemon can't gain Exp so yeah.
I'm glad I was an absolute gen 5 simp back when the games came out because damn the prices for these games nowadays are criminal.

The games: a morally grey character that wants to unlock the full potential of Pokémon (even if it means working for the villains) in Unova, travels to the Kalos region to learn about mega evolution before his character development comes full circle in the Alola region; helping the main protag save the day and roasting his ex-boss before sending him back to his original dimension like a badass.
The anime: a generic mad scientist that eventually gets locked up and is never heard from again...
What went wrong?
The Adventures manga mucked him up too. Practically every single adaptation warped this character into a straight villain, it's insane.
I believe the gen 5 anime was rushed, and they had to cut out plot lines and such. I don’t remember the details exactly but that may have played a part

Seeing how remakes happen when the gen is double the number the original game came out, I think he'll have to wait a bit longer. (What I mean is gen 2 remakes came in gen 4, and gen 3 remakes came with gen 6. I assume the next pokemon game are gen 4 remakes so if I'm true that would mean gen 4 remakes came out in gen 8. So that means gen 5 remakes sadly won't come out until gen 10. Hopefully by then Gamefreak has their shit back together.)
I love how instead of proving Colress wrong on a moral ground, he's ultimately swayed from team plasma because his hypothesis is proven incorrect. He genuinely doesn't give a shit who's side he's on; just so long as he's *correct*

He's not really even a villain. Just a scientist doing his job. No morals, no compassion...just straight up full dedication on his research, pursuing the best possible way to fufill it, testing Team Plasma's methods as well as the player's methods throughout the game.
That’s something I didn’t understand until like a year later, and honestly it makes colress one of the best antogonists, and then when he shows up in sun and moon it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.
And ghetsis will always stay above as the biggest unova villian compared to n and colress

At least until he inevitably gets out into the Team Plasma Psychiatric ward after losing to a child twice.
He's so passionate about his job that I take this situation into consideration. If Kyurem just straight up killed Ghetsis, Colress would study the way it killed a human being rather than trying to stop it. He's almost insane in a way and I love him for that.
Actually Colress has morals, his own ones, but still, being a more or less neutral alignment who cooperates with neo Plasma for striving to find somethign of revolution of growing in potential, to see someone or something overcoming oneself and this search for self confidence and determination in others is what drives him, what drive sthe future. He would also work as some sorta strategist for Team Plasma, but I think he wants to keep himself out of the deals of Plasma for Unova domination and enslavement etc., because of hismorals.
Nothing will peak on how diverse and honestly badass Gen 5's ost is.
It was like that across the whole franchise. Pokepark, Pokemon Rumble, even Pokemon Typing Adventure all embraced rock and techno music in the best way.
gen 4 and 5 are peak.. heck legends arceus has quite a bit of unova content.

Colress has to be one of my favorite characters from Unova. The best way to describe him is an anti-hero. Not walking in the light of truth, or in the shadows of Ideals. He's trying to find out how the world works by seeing both aspects of things and ultimately, makes an educated decision. Maybe that's why his Pokemon are pretty slow.

No other song in the series has the same kind of feel as this one, and it is perfect. In the midst of the dangerous, sprawling Plasma Frigate, you fight the begrudging scientist. He's not here for the cause, but the opportunity. And to prove his cause, he fights you with everything he's got. God, I love it.

I think my favourite antagonists are N, Colress, Volo, Lusamine (specifically her Sun and Moon version, I didn't like her in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon) and Guzma. Including spin offs also gives us Miror B and Ardos/Eldes.

I love how both his spanish and english names relate to his role in the story and his personality. In a world ruled by the facing sides of ideals and truth (black and white), stands a man who serves non of them, a colorless individual. Or Colress you could say. In spanish his name is Acromo, which would mean non-chromatic, without color.
Even his Japanese name is romanized as "Achroma"
His French name is also Nickolaï, which sounds a bit like non-color. It's not as good sounding or obvious as it is in other languages, but the intend is still here and Nickolaï is a badass name.

This is why Gen 5 and the BW games are my favorites in the series. The characters and Pokémon you meet, the music, the story, the side quests, everything is perfect in my eyes. I picked up my Black 2 copy again the other day after taking a break over the summer and realized I still had to do the post-game, and came across Colress’ post-game battle, and heard this theme for the first time in years. I don’t remember this theme whatsoever, and yet it’s very nostalgic. It made his battle very fun. I don’t care what people might say about Gen 5, it will always be my favorite and hold a special place in my heart.

Colress is one of my favorite Pokémon villains even though he’s not pure evil. His theme is super catchy and all of his Pokémon fit him so well. Robots, computer programs and intelligent Pokémon. Sounds a lot like a scientists team.
It’s also one of those teams you feel/know could be used outside of battles for his work

But aside from all this, I thought older pokemon games were really cool, cuz like for a while, all the throw animations were shown left handed for the player characters due to visuals. I think only Black and White started having right handed protags, because the spriting got so good

I like the how nicely the dichotomy between Team Plasma's "leaders" reflects the core theme of gen 5
N is a activist/hero who chases his ideals, whereas Colress as a scientist seeks out the truths of the world.
N learns that his ideals were based on falsehoods, and adapts them to the truths he learns.
Colress on the other hand learns that the true way to draw out a Pokémon's potential is the idealistic way (treating your Pokémon well and building a bond with them)
The most true neutral character in the entire franchise. This man is willing to freeze an entire region just so long as it will advance his research, and I honestly respect the hell out of him for it. Some people talk about how he's turned a new leaf and is a good guy now, but i feel like (with the exception of rainbow rocket ghetsis) he's still just doing what he thinks will best advance his research, his morals are still the same, and that's honestly respectable as hell

3:35 honestly the best part, catchy beat and just comes right back on track. Flawless generation with some of the best tracks.
I can never relive the high of hearing this for the first time again. Had to be around 3 or 4 in the morning way back when the games first came out. I felt like the only living person in the world for about half and hour as I just let the theme play on without finishing the battle. Sadly I don't even have my copy of Black 2 anymore since my 3DS was stolen with it in it years ago. Maybe one day I'll get another copy.

Black/White had my favorite villian and rival themes as well as the Rival Hugh and Colress himself. Too bad in the anime they make him sound... a bit more egotistical than he does in the games anime trailer. Still though, Colress and Hugh are cool : )

Yeah, anyone can be a typical clear-cut good or evil character these days, but morally ambiguous anti-heroes or anti-villains are really interesting. :p
I agree.Untill this day, I still not understand why the scripwriter of BW anime decided to make that series like that...The game has a really good story plot, if not one of the best.

One of the few main antagonists that you never really felt angry with, or even a sense of hostility. He just wanted to see what made you and your Pokémon so strong, Ghetsis was just a means to his end.

Loved Generations 5 the most. Mostly because Unova region is based off New York City (my home) and also because Colress was a good villain.
Unova is still my favorite region. It's the only region that felt alive with all the crowds of people in castelia, the moving trains and cars on the bridges, and the gym leaders actually had other jobs and did something in the story!
This is still the most unique sounding battle theme I’ve heard in Pokémon so far.

Colress is probably my second favorite character in main series next to Lusamine. Idk, his cool aesthetic and chaotic neutral stance on the conflict is just really entertaining.
Same! I wish he kept that same energy in his later appearances. He feels more like a full-fledged good guy in SM and USUM.
He even admits he’s always hated Ghetsis during the RR Episode, which is weird to me, because he still agreed to working with him during B2W2. He didn’t come off like he was forced to help lead Neo Plasma at all.
Colress does backstab him at the end of B2W2 by switching sides and letting you progress, and Ghetsis gets pissed at him for it, but Colress only does it because he realizes after losing to you that Team Plasma’s cruel approach wasn’t the best way to bring out the latent power of Pokémon after all, and that your bonds with your team brought out more of it.
Maybe he just sort of begrudgingly stuck with Team Plasma and their crazy plans because Ghetsis convinced him that his way was the best way, and wasn’t proven otherwise until you came along? Who knows.
Seeing him yeet Ghetsis back to his own dimension in USUM was still a cool moment either way.

I don't know why, but this battle theme is my favorite in the entire franchise.
Between Hugh being a rival who's goal ISN'T "to become the Pokemon league champion." and Colress being an antagonist, despite not being a villain? It's the reason why B2W2 is probably the best entry in the series, at least from a story perspective.
