      The lack of horizontal adjustment is pretty poor though, especially with is being so wide, it means anything off dead straight makes your eyes feel wonky.

    When you overclock any monitor you have to also test it on the blurbusters site to see if it is skipping frames, it is really apparent when gaming if it is skipping frames when overclocked, it judders really badly.

    Just so you know you need to go to the "menu" on the bottom right where you adjust the screen color, click "picture" then "Eye saver Mode" > off, so your monitor color goes back to normal color

    Literally just got one of these and wow, the ultrawide life is incredible. At my job I often find myself trying to juggle a bunch of different open windows and it's such a pain, even on a dual monitor setup. Slack, code editor, terminal, documentation, whatever website I'm working on, etc. This thing is so big that I can tile like 8 different windows, and they're all still big enough to be usable. Having it all on a single screen just feels a lot more productive for me. I get so distracted flipping through tabs and workspaces. I've never felt so good about spending $300 before
    Max brightness is a little disappointing, and I noticed your point about the poor viewing angle immediately on using the display before I even watched this review. Definitely something to consider before buying if that matters to you. Personally it's not a big deal, I just needed the screen real estate. Overall, at the current price point you can find these at, I think it's a great deal.

I Wanted to try curved for that wide, but VA colour shift would bother me. Holding out for a fast OLED or a great IPS display for next panel.

    the bias against ultrawide, I've never experienced that. Put 2 web pages next to each other.. or use productivity software/graphic software. The negation of the bezel between monitors is a godsend . Could always hook an arm to it and rotate it 90 degrees for one long webpage as well. Just though it was very odd to dislike ultrawide.

      + the higher refresh rates only work via DP .. hdmi was crapping out somewhere around 85 hz if i remember correctly - i'm using custom resolution option in nvidia control panel (2080ti) ... maybe the gpu can have some effect on this as well... was once messing with the bios and forced the card to run in pci-e 1.0 mode and it defaulted to 50hz and i had to oc to get even 60! If you want to have full framerate and 0 stutter with NVidia you have to use G-Sync, otherwise the monitor won't properly adjust refresh rate and be stuck at 60 Hz (even when it's getting 75 frames or 110 frames from the GPU).

All other freq's are WEIRD looking, very antsy and full useless all between 75-110 working like a shit. 60Hz option have BEST SMOOTH instead on 75-110. With new fast DP cable I have 118 and 119Hz and this works acceptable, ALMOST ideal. I dont know why, tryed 3 DP cables, 2 hdmi, different properties and that I have. Video card is 3080.

      Why I get upset because 118Hz works ALMOST ideal and 119Hz is MORE better, but 119Hz have flickers sometimes (can not flick. can flick in straight some time). I would be happy if 100-110Hz will give me true 100Hz sport smooth, but no any smooth on it (simple 60Hz looks x10 smooth against 110Hz option I dont know why).

    I picked this monitor up a few months ago on sale for £229 and its the best purchase I've made. For the best experience i would recommend bumping up the saturation and colour on whichever gpu software you have as the colours are just abit on the dull side without it. I primarily game on this monitor but i do NOT use the gaming mode as it really messes up the image quality, games still feel super smooth for me on 75fps with freesync. Also cause its so wide its best viewed tilted downwards just slightly so the colours don't go off balance since its a va panel. I'm gona try overclock it later today, hoping i can reach around 90fps. I would definitely recommend this monitor for anyone looking to buy it 👍

      Well think of it this way you lowered a 1080p and you should be able to get more higher frame rate in newer games running 2K safely would require you to buy a 1080 TI power or higher and that has higher then 10 gigs to handle the 2K resolution but if you strictly just play older games you should be able to find some that can handle the 2K

      Most TVs have a lot of input lag and are 60hz native panels. The newer more expensive TVs now have fast response, 120hz panels. You can't get an ultrawide TV. It really depends on what you are doing.. if you just want the cheapest 4K display available.. a 4K TV is it, but there are downsides, and upsides. Check a site like rtings.com to compare the panel quality and performance.

    • @MaaZeus
      @MaaZeus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bought the monitor and I got mine up to 96hz as well. But the 96 is also a hard limit on my piece. Also I have to use FPS limiter in games because if the FPS hovers around 96hz or goes above it there is some occasional black screen flicker. I first noticed this with Doom Eternal. V-Sync alone was not enough to keep it steady so I had to use Nvidia's FPS limiter to lock the FPS slightly below maximum at 94hz. No issues in desktop. All in all I am very happy with this monitor, the only downside is slow as molasses pixel response time but the image quality is fantastic after calibrating it with my Display Pro colorimeter. Great contrast ratio measured at 4200:1, better than most poor monitor grade VA panels and up there with good TV grade VA's.

    • @UZieLLable
      @UZieLLable 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MaaZeus FYI I ran mine at 98 hz then 97 hz then 96 hz and nearly all occasional glitches were gone at 95 Hz. In bad combination of colors it can very slightly flicker about 5% brighter and darker, very subtle and hard to tell and in very rare instances (usually when I have some grey stuff in background and main window or movie on the center) so like once every week or few weeks and is gone after few seconds (basically when I move/alttab stuff or rearrange them). It's best to set to 95 Hz and forget about it.

      @Ziyoblader 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      60 HZ on the 1st HDMI input 75 Hertz on the second HDMI input with the 55-2 model the 550 was the older one that did not allow 75 Hertz on HDMI and then with DisplayPort you can go 75 Hertz or higher if you have overclocking software reading in the comments here it looks like the highest that was achievable with this monitor was 110 but also a friendly reminder if you are going to be pushing that amount of frame rate with 2K resolution you're going to have to have a heavy gaming graphics card 1080 TI or higher 1080 TI in most modern games with 2K resolution non ultra wide who usually get around 75 to 85 frames older games or games that are very simple like esports can you go up to 100 but here's the catch we're now dealing with a ultrawide which adds more pixels for the graphics card to deal with and so a 1080 TI we're probably be down to around 70 frames in most games because an ultrawide is like a combination of a 4K / 2K monitor another thing to add is when you're using a 1080 TI for modern games you're not running it at ultra or high you're usually running at medium to high so frame rate will be different depending on what settings you have your video game on
