Absolutely, Hercules is the ultimate Lou Ferrigno experience, they tried to imitate the ending of Kubrick's 2001: a space Odyssey and it was hilarious 😂😂
According to TV Tropes, this movie's production started in 1986 and stopped when Cannon went bankrupt. A few months later, the producers (without telling original director Enzo Castellari) hired Luigi Cozzi to finish and edit it. Cozzi inserted the framing device of the mother reading a bedtime story to her kid, in a desperate attempt to tie all the footage together as best he could. The narration itself was written by freelancer Brad Goldberg, whose initial draft was sent straight to recording. Castellari didn't even know the film had been finished in 1989 until he saw it in a video store.
So someone thought it was decent enough to finish but in reality, it still turned into a pile of shit? Or did that person have a lot of respect for Cannon Films and wanted it to be finished?
Jafar (there are many spellings) is a common name and it was also the name of the king's vizier in the 1001 Nights (aka Arabian Nights) where the story of Aladdin came from, though he was not the villain in the original Aladdin story, but was the father of Scheherazade, the woman who tells the 1001 stories, like Aladdin, to the mad King to keep him from killing her on their wedding night. The Disney film named the villain Jafar after the evil vizier "Jaffar" in the 1940 movie "The Thief of Bagdad." Aladdin borrowed other bits, like the carpet, from that movie and added it to the original story, though Thief of Bagdad also took from Aladdin and other 1001 Nights stories. Fun Fact: although it uses distinctly Arabian names and tropes, like Genies, the original Aladdin story was set in China.

Ferrigno really gives it a good try acting wise while Brown is kinda cashing a paycheck.

This is what I could get from Wikipedia; It was a real mess. Sinbad of the Seven Seas claims to be based on Edgar Allan Poe's story "The Thousand-and-Second Tale of Scheherazade," though no similarity can be found between its plot and the story. It borrows some elements and characters from the 1940 version of The Thief of Bagdad. The film was made with a largely Italian cast and crew. Like most Italian movies, it was filmed on location without sound equipment and all dialogue and sound effects were dubbed later. Screenwriter Luigi Cozzi was originally going to direct the film back in 1986 but he was replaced at the last minute by the producers with Enzo G. Castellari. Castellari changed Cozzi's script drastically and several million dollars later, wound up submitting three hours of non-releasable footage to the producer, who shelved the whole project. In 1989, Cozzi was hired back to try to fix up the picture via re-editing and shooting additional scenes, the producer spending an additional half million dollars finishing it.
From Wiki: "The 1989 Italian fantasy adventure film Sinbad of the Seven Seas, directed by Enzo G, Castellari and starring the American actor Lou Ferrigno as Sinbad, is credited as an adaptation of "The Thousand-and-Second Tale of Scheherazade". The movie's plot, however, in which Sinbad searches for five magical gems that are needed to save the world from an evil sorcerer, bears hardly any resemblance to Poe's story." Aladdin was ALSO a tale from "Arabian Nights" which is where the 7 voyages of Sinbad came from. The best part? The source material is about a woman telling her husband a story (like Arabian Nights). But the ending is 100% Poe: "The King soon begins to make it obvious that he is not enjoying Scheherazade's tale. He frequently interrupts the story with outbursts which clearly show that he thinks it is nonsense. Scheherazade, however, usually ignores the King's interruptions and continues with her story. When the King hears about women who think that adding things like camels' humps beneath their backs makes them look beautiful, he cannot stand to listen to the story any longer. The King orders that Scheherazade be put to death and complains that his marriage to her has lasted too long. At her execution, Scheherazade takes some comfort in the fact that she had not finished telling the story of Sinbad's fantastical adventures and the King will now never hear the end of the tale." Watching this movie also made me want to put my wife to death.
I saw both if Ferrigno’s “Hercules” movies as a kid. Never saw this one, I don’t even remember that it existed. The mother narrating the story reminds me of 7-Zark-7 from “Battle of the Planets”, the English adaptation of the anime, “Science Ninja Team Gatchaman”, except where 7-Zark-7 was narrating for cut footage, the mother is narrating for footage that was never filmed
I met Lou one time. I was getting into an elevator and this big security guy got in my way, but a voice behind him said 'Dude, chill out' and there he was. I was all 'Wow! Youre the effing Hulk!'. He just laughed and said 'Yeah, I know'. Lovely guy. He was absolutely huge.
You have to watch the two "Cage" movies starring Lou and Reb Brown. They play Vietnam vets and Lou's character gets brain damage saving Reb... Then they get forced into cage fighting. The first one even has Matthias in it as a fighter! These movies were made for SBIG as they have probably every character actor you have ever seen, including pretty much all the Asian ones, even Leo Fong! Daron McBee is in one of them as well.
The actress they got to play the young version of the Amazon Queen was beautiful in that (admittedly absurd) outfit; I'd be surprised if nobody pushed for a photo session of her dressed in that. And it was hilarious how Teagan Clive (evil muscle sorceress) shows up to help the villain only to have the film totally drop that plot point and she lives as a good guy at the end. (And I also love that she immediately criticizes Jafar when she makes her debut).
The scene where Lou Ferrigno one hand crushed that suit of armors chest was _wild_ . I can't recall another movie where a character showed how strong they were by pancaking someone (armor and all) agaisn't a wall with their bare hand like that. 😂

Daria Nicolodi (narrator) AND Romano Puppo!! When are you doing Robowar? That movie is awesome, with Reb Brown and Romano Puppo playing an italian Chuck Norris 😂😂
Something about the movie's Jafar immediately got under my skin (other than the whole 'Rutger Hauer in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert' vibe), and then I realized he's played by italian schlock vet John Steiner, who's worked with Argento, Bava, and Fulci, and whom folks here might remember as the Overlord from Yor, Hunter of the Future. Also, nice nod to the Blind Dead series with the buried horsemen.
This movie is a great example of why more movies should have two or more directors, each having little to no interaction with each other creatively. We would have such great cinema. Imagine if Neil Breen and Godfrey Ho co-directed a movie. Instant masterpiece!
When I saw the actor that plays "pride ninja" in this film, I said, "Wow, he looks familiar. As I'm sure you've guessed by now, but Disney's Alladin is obviously a Disney painted retelling of the classic 'Arabian Nights' story of 'Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves'. Disney didn't create the story, like most of the animated stories that are considered 'Disney Classics'.

The way that came out of nowhere reminded me of Neil Breen telling his therapist "I am feeling less stable"
lol
Always good when a new video drops!
PLEASE quote brian saying "lightning cage" i laughed so hard at that!!
Lou’s poses keep reminding me of the hulk TV series! Love it!
I'm pretty sure your average snake does not have the tensile strength to support a 6'5" 300lb Hulk.
But their tensile strength multiplies when they're tied together. Science.
@@JasonBrant Who are you who is so wise in the ways of science?
@@franciscodanconia4324It was clearly light hearted sarcasm, chill😂
It's a Monty Python and the Holy Grail quote, look up the witch scene
@@WayneCrow85 obviously you are not a Monty Python fan. :)
Jafar here is trying really really hard to channel Tom Baker's Koura character from The Golden Voyage of Sinbad
Which is an awesome movie!
🤗
Baker was like Tim Curry, just making these characters over the top and memorable.
I remember a funny article in a magazine way back that made an argument for Koura being the good guy, the Vizier usurping his rightful throne and hiring pirates to stop his quest lol
It was great
I loved Baker as Koura, someone wrote an article saying he's the actual protagonist, it was funny and kind of right lol
Rope, made of living snakes, is Poe's trade mark. He just hides it very well and that is why we don't see it in his major works but if you read between lines then....
Jason you would rock that sinbad hair with pride I feel
jason!!! im here now!!! we can continue!
From Wiki: "Screenwriter Luigi Cozzi was originally going to direct the film back in 1986 but he was replaced at the last minute by the producers with Enzo G. Castellari. Castellari changed Cozzi's script drastically and several million dollars later, wound up submitting three hours of non-releasable footage to the producer, who shelved the whole project. In 1989, Cozzi was hired back to try to fix up the picture via re-editing and shooting additional scenes, the producer spending an additional half million dollars finishing it"
When I was a kid in the mid 90s I would rent this movie all the time. Was one of my favorites.
This was absolutely incredible... My god! 🤣
Guys, this was one of my fav. fantasy movies as a kid, jack dude beating bad guys and monsters, so awesome!!
Best Sinbad ever! I loved this movie years ago and I love it still.
This movie is a great example of why more movies should have two or more directors, each having little to no interaction with each other creatively. We would have such great cinema. Imagine if Neil Breen and Godfrey Ho co-directed a movie. Instant masterpiece!
Sinbad's voice actor sounds like the same guy who voices Bato in Ghost in the Shell
It is
I lost it when he started making a rope out of snakes and the one appeared to shake its head "No" when he beckoned it 🤣
When I saw the actor that plays "pride ninja" in this film, I said, "Wow, he looks familiar. I wonder if he also plays a character called "Ninja" in a movie I have suggested to you before: 1983's Endgame: Bronx Lotta Finale. The answer is, yes it is. Hal Yamanouchi
This one is totally you guys. A cheap 1980's, post apocalyptic movie that is a hybrid of running man and mad max, and Conan the Barbarian elements, it has mutants, ninjas, a "strong man," telepathic people, weird cult people, and so many awesome dialog segments.
The jacked woman was in another of your recent videos, "Double Impact" with JCVD. Cory Everson.
Years ago I saw a boat named Sailbad the Sinner and ever since movies about Sinbad have seemed even sillier.
That freaking narration gives me Troll 2 flashbacks
Gina Davis. Nice. Put the sheets back when you’re done, Erin.
You came for a Lou Ferrigno movie, and you got an unexpected Edgar Allen Poe history lesson.
Of course we all know Edgar Allen Poe for his scenery chewing performance in episode #53, Robo Vampire.
Lou had another gem called "cage". Its very... special.
It's a Nicholas Cage biography
16:47 almost choked on my coffee, you bastard 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've got to watch this movie, I've never seen such double entendre potential.
CinemaSins would have a field day with the amount on narration this movie has. It’s possible that the Sin Counter would break. 😂😂😂
I feel like i did see this on action theatre on a Saturday afternoon either that or HBO. Also he did another one like Seven Gladiators which was a fav of mine.
Erin - "They're gonna shoot off into space..." LMAO
I like his Hercules movie...when he whooped that bears ass into outspace I thought it was so funny when I was kid!
