Please could you not ever use that noise at 7:47, again....unless you turn down the volume on it...way low? I'm trying to calmly watch your review at 2 am and you are about to give me a heart attack, with this abrupt internet connection/dial tone noise. I was all..."is my fire alarm going off?" Thanks.

Despite the bad reviews I really thought yeah but it’s a beautiful glossy period film noir detective story with a great cast, so how bad can it be??? Well, that made me forgiving of it for about 10min max… from the very opening lines in the opening dialogue I was groaning !! I am totally baffled at how such bad writing could ever make it onto the screen with such a cast!!

I have ALWAYS enjoyed Jessica Lange movies. She is very talented and very beautiful. My favorite performance of her’s is Sweet Dreams. For me it was the best portrayal of Patsy Cline I have ever seen. She has never depended on her looks for parts. Her portrayal of Joan Crawford in Feud was fabulous. She really gave another layer to Crawford that I had never seen before. I also thought she was so good in Blue Sky with Tommy Lee Jones. Her personal life also fascinates me having relationships with Barishnikof [ sp] and Sam Shepard. I have always had a crush on Shepard. God rest his soul. This sounds very interesting.

I found it really engrossing and absolutely gorgeous. I think a lot of the characters are just too old to really give dynamic performances, and a lot of the lines just don't land, but I still liked it and would see it again. It's a good, well-made film. I'd rather watch this again than yet another superhero or Avatar film.

Diane Kruger just played a modern studio executive in that mini-series with Donald Sutherland. It's weird that she'd play it again in a different era.

Hey guys, just found your channel, I really like your videos! Agree with this review - I thought Marlowe looked amazing, with impeccable set and costume design, which added a lot of entertainment value for me. But in terms of plot, the film wasn't anything special. I have an affinity for the time period though, so I enjoyed myself, but I imagine most people will be really bored since the film is 99% dialogue and 1% action.

Why does he say that Jessica Lange WANTS to be a star? She IS a star and she knew to get out on top and is not looking to get back in.
This film was great! There were so many Easter eggs and references, I'm surprised you didn't like it.

This movie was Horrible this movie drags from the very beginning everything about it wasn't good at all bad storyline ,bad plotting, the characters weren't interesting and they all seem to be on some ego power trip each character trying to show Marlowe how dangerous and powerful they can all be with very little action. I've been a fan of Liam Neeson's movie's for year's.
He's a very good actor who had done a lot of very good movies.
This one's got to be the worst movie he's ever done. Not worth checking out folk's I gave it 1 star *

Let me help you out here. The movie was bad. Dull, boring and w Jessica Lange acting very peculiarly and tight closeups on her aging face. I love Liam but this was terrible. I couldn’t even discern a plot.
