I know you're not lying bro if you've ever been to the galleria mall in Htown and actually met Johnny he's one of the most humblest guys especially in a cutthroat business like jewelry 💯 Hence why you never hear he's done bad business 🤷🏿♂️
@BradySharrett id say after growing up like he did in extreme poverty, and working hard for everything he has, he's earned being able to play golf and drive a fancy car. I don't c u starting ur own business from the literal mud
I feel bad for some of them. Zero financial discipline. All that money will be gone at some point, when they inevitably start to fade into obscurity. They could've set up a solid foundation for themselves instead of buying hundreds of thousands on high-end jewelry.
@@TheHamburgler123 i think buying this kind of jewelry is kinda like an investment, the diamonds and gold keep their value (kinda). it´s way more stupid to buy designer clothes or an expensive car. But i think the most logical thing is if you grew up very poor you just wanna flex your money and buy stupid shit to display your ´wealth´.
@@ZEUSKINGCSGO I'm not so sure. A huge portion of the cost of these pieces are the fact that they're unique -- you're pay for that workmanship and expertise. From what I can glean from online, it's not uncommon for the famous jewelry designs to have margins of 200-300%+ on their peices. You're paying heavily for the prestige of owning a piece from one of the best and most famous/reputable jewelers in the game. I agree with you that they will always have some value since they contain precious stones and metals, and that designer clothes and cars are likely an even worse investment. However, if you need to liquidate your jewelry, when push comes to shove, it appears you'd be lucky to get half of your money back on most of those items.
@@TheHamburgler123at least if the moneys gone they got hundreds of thousands in jewelry and other assets they can liquidate. They may look stupid but you are stupider if you think any of these dudes ever goin broke again.

My mom was born in '73 and my dad in '74. Both came to the U.S. from Vietnam in the mid-late 80s. Although they don't have the current lifestyle that Johnny Dang was able to achieve, I love this video so much because of how relatable it is to my own family's history. The American Dream doesn't have to be making it to the very top and being crazy wealthy. Being successful enough to own a home, raise children, have an education and send your kids to school, self-sustain with a job, is all you need to live a good life here. It's extremely unfortunate that there are lots of people who try their best, but things just don't go how it should. Keep grinding, find whatever it is that you just love to do and find a way to make money doing it. Everything else will align
