Oh man this is a sore subject for me! What happens when u double in 2K is just insane sometimes...or even when ur not even trying to double but u just have a couple defenders get caught around the ball for a couple seconds. This video I did a while back will explain more about this. It's for a previous edition but it's still exactly the same. In fact, I just took clip the other day of my defense doing exactly this. As far as I know, there's no setting that influences this. I was testing the double team reaction setting just to see but that's for when ur on offense...and it doesn't even really make much difference for that anyway lol. Here's the link to that vid: th-cam.com/video/nDYMv-TFndk/w-d-xo.html
Lol that's basically one of the main themes of the update my friend! That and actually being able to make contested shots!! We really need to bring shot-making back into the game!!! Not cheesing all over the place, but having those moments of incredible shot-making is one of the things that makes the game so exciting!!! I want u to try something...put the shot timing impact slider at 60 for the user and lemme know if u feel a difference!!
@@ThePopboy I will try that. It’s unbelievable to me that 2k created a game where you can’t make contested shots with the best players in the entire world!!! And open shots by steph curry have to be timed perfectly or else it is brick city. What were they thinking making this game??!
That's for sure coming up but at the moment, the on ball pressure is the easy one. That I put on moderate. It's just cuz there's so auto blow by stuff that gets triggered at a higher rate if u have ur guys playing closer...and u can still get a good contest on jumpers cuz he's not laying that far off. The off ball pressure...that's def more of a give and take. I can't even tell u how many times I've gone back and forth between moderate and tight. U'll see why in the help D video, but rn I'm going with mostly moderate. If u wanna get specific with it, u can do tight only for elite perimeter shooters. Like Klay or somebody like that...or like Luke Kennard cuz he's mainly there to shoot 3's and isn't much of a threat as a slasher
@@ThePopboy thx for answer, i only play in league online vs Real users, the hardest thing is dbl screens on shooters but go under i think help with these, second thing is cutter plays, what You suggest to put on help D on screens/cut and drive
Man this really reminds me that I NEED to do a vid on all those sliders!!! For the help D slider, as long as ur playing the game and doing the custom defensive settings, it actually doesn't matter one bit. It's kinda tough to explain in this format, but that slider is just for if u don't wanna mess with all the specific stuff or if ur doing the simcast/simcast live. But if ur playing the game and doing the defensive settings, it gets overridden. Like if u put ur help rules on help and no rotation and u put the help D slider at zero, they're still gonna do the help and no rot the same way. It doesn't decrease it or anything. The same is true if u put them on no help...putting the slider at 100 isn't gonna make them help. They'll listen to the defensive settings and disregard that coaching slider. I need to do a video on all those, but hope that makes sense for now!!
@@ThePopboy Man, it is definitely kind of tough to explain but I get it though. The way I usually play is leave everything on Auto and adjust the help defense slider but….I found out that I needed “Stay attached” on YES. From there the main culprit seems to be defensive assist slider which I moved from 5-10. By the way, I am in the European league. Thanks @2kwiththepopboy
@@primeminister7885 Dang u put stay attached on YES? U don't get a lotta guys on pick n rolls driving all the way with no help from the hedge man? U mean in real life u play in the Euro League for real?!
@@ThePopboy Yes sir, and I believe the reason I am successful is because I play real tough “On-Ball Defense” in man to man the whole game. I been playing 2k for 20 years. We should lab sometime….my gamer tag: primeminister916
Please Pop.. this game would be GOAT'd. If it had some form of transition offense. I know it may be a programming thing, so no slider change may not be able to affect it. But man.. that's the most frustrating thing, about 2k23 this year. Even off long misses, and sometimes even off turnovers. There's no opportunity of a fast break, because the computer is artificially speed boosted, back in front of you (Zion got chased down by Karl Anthony Towns, and took away my opportunity of a transition bucket). Watching today's NBA. Almost half of the possessions, are played in transition, or semi transition. But in 2k23 logic, every possession is played, in the half court. And only wide opened shots, are made lol. Even in the paint.
This comment is so right on. I hate how it's so hard to run in transition!!!🤬🤬A small part of it is the body up sensitivity slider...but it's not like we wanna put it all low cuz that'll mess up the halfcourt on ball D. They really need an off ball sensitivity slider cuz ur guys get slowed up by defenders just running next to them smh. Also ur teammates don't run with the urgency that they should. I've spent a lotta time testing the movement sliders for this exact issue but it still exists no matter what u put those at cuz the CPU D is able to magically get back on D at superhuman speeds. There is one thing I've had luck with tho...r u on Twitter by any chance? I could send u a short clip of a method I use to get out and run. It's easier to explain if u can see it.
Yeah this is something I've been grappling with even more lately. Here's the prob with player lock and the sliders: The user side of the sliders effects ur AI teammates as well as ur player. That's why I always try to tell 2K that we need a separate set of the sliders for player lock! That's the only way we can ever truly address all the issues!! We need 2 user slider sets for player lock: one for just ur player and one for ur teammates. Until then, we're left just tryna fix 2 separate issues with only one slider. For example, ur teammates could be shooting poorly, so u raise the user shooting sliders. However, that now makes shooting too easy for the player u r controlling. So now we're sitting here tryna get it in the middle so it's not half bad on each side...but it's never truly right for both. I do some testing on player lock, but I really wanna do more! Just to see if there's any adjustments I can make to make player lock better. If there is, I'll for sure come out with a player-lock-specific set! With all that being said, I still wanna crack down on these to see if I can find some unorthodox combinations that would help. The one thing that gives me hope is what I've recently discovered on the shot timing impact slider. I still need to totally confirm this, but I believe that's the only slider in the game that actually affects ur AI teammates differently than it affects the player ur controlling. I'll have a whole video soon just on this slider...and the shot contest impacts slider too. But that slider actually governs a lot of the meter difficulty for the user...but it doesn't appear it does the same for the CPU. What settings r u currently using for that slider?
It's really funny cuz the hedge settings r kinda broken...but I'm still getting good results. I used to use soft hedge, but that setting is broken this year. He sits way back on that setting and acts more like he's playing catch hedge or something like that. So it's kinda like hard hedge is the new soft hedge. Lol they got it all messed up. So yeah I have pretty great luck with hard hedge. The CPU REALLY likes throwing that little lob pass on pick n rolls this year...and I get the AI hedge defender actually intercepting a decent amount of those passes. He plays a good centerfield roll a lotta the time. I also do go over for the on ball screen settings...mostly cuz the ball defender and the hedge defender can kinda get stuck on each other and slow each other up if it's on go under. If I could ever get these slider updates done, that's one of the next things on my list! So u'll be able to see exactly what I'm talking about!!👍👍

Can't wait to turn Zone Usage up to 100 😅
U run all zone all the time?
How do you get the center to only help on the drive
Any fix the cpu on the defense side they go through screens easily or it's like they never get affected by em.
