Oh I hear u my friend!! The main gameplay sliders for new gen will be the next video actually. I've been testing them in all eras and pretty much loving what I'm seeing in all of them! I'll do more testing to see if we can tweak anything to make them specific to that era...but honestly 2K doesn't really give us the tools we need to TRULY make the gameplay match the past eras. That's because most of what we really want comes down to player behavior. Like the hard fouls in the 90's...I could do anything I want with the sliders and it's not gonna give us that kinda stuff. I'm hoping 2K will work more on their programming to make the gameplay match the eras better. It's okay tho, I'll be doing anything and everything to make it the best it can possibly be!! Main sets r less than a week away!!

The Popboy I have a question for you I play my nba modern era and I m playing with any team and trying to get a player a badge that he don’t have for example, many magician for me to get him that badge do I need to keep doing that move just to get his player attribute or progression up during the season to make it bronze
Oh man u hit on something that's bugged the HELL outta me forever: badge progression in MyLeague and now in MyNBA!! I've been saying forever they need to make it more transparent!!! So it's still a little cloudy but here's what I know...so like u said, doing the move or hitting the shot for the badge u want will help...but how much it helps??? There's no way to know. If the badge fits that player's style for the most part, and he develops with his overall ratings, then there's a decent chance he'll get that badge as he develops. Wish this was more visible tho. Now there is one tangible thing u can do...if u go to the training tab, and then go to player mentorship...u wanna look for another player on ur team who's older, rated higher and who has that badge. If u have a player like that, u could make him that guy's mentor and then it'll actually show u how long it's gonna take him to get that badge. U can select 3 badges per player. The higher the badge level of the mentor, the faster the mentee will get that badge. And of course if he's much older and rated much higher, that helps speed things up too!👍
@@ThePopboy oh ok yea I did use the mentorship and it do work but let say you want to have a offensive player learn to play defense. For example, I would use Jimmy Butler to mentor Tyler Herro, but his progression to learn defense. It not evening going up or progressing at all to even get a bronze badge is that because he’s offense and no defense so that’s why it would take longer or maybe more season to play for him to get his progression to go up on his attribute.
Yeah that's for sure gonna be a video cuz that's a whole can of worms. The hedge settings don't do what they're supposed to do. That's the biggest problem in my book. Soft hedge used to be great but now it makes him play like the deepest drop coverage u've ever seen. I'll def do a vid on it...but for now, my best rec is to put the on ball defender on go over and try to control the hedge defender urself. If u can't control the hedge defender, then I would say hard hedge is the best setting at this time. There's still some issues I'm working thru with hard hedge, but at least he mostly does what the setting says he should do when he's on hard hedge

At this exact moment, nothing will come up cuz they're not out yet. But they're coming out this week!! The release video will have all the instructions near the end, and the game speed setting to compliment the sliders!!👍 Now for the MyNBA sliders like progression, trade, contract, etc...that's different. U'll notice when u go to those sliders, at the bottom-left corner, it says u can upload sliders, but there's nothing about pressing Y to actually download sliders. I bugged 2K about this...Idk like a zillion times...but to no avail. I smoked someone online 76ers vs lakers, my play with Embid was damn near flawless; I used you 2k23 no help setting… and no joke… every single basket they scored on me was Lebron doing his best Forest Gump to the basket lol Back and forth 3 quarters Me doing all this meta shit on offense…. Then they sprint and no body help over and over and over lol
Lol yep sounds familiar😆🤦♂️Help & no rotation will be much better! The only thing with online is if u run into somebody who just runs that 5 out cheese over and over...I'm testing it more against that. Might have to do a vid just for that if it turns out to be an issue and we need to adjust!

For the gameplay sliders or what the game calls the "user/cpu sliders", that's easy: when u go into the sliders, at the bottom left, it should say to press Y to download sliders. Once u do that, hit search by gamertag, and then search my tag "The Popboy". At the moment, u won't see anything cuz they haven't come out yet. They're coming in less that a week tho!! Testing is going great!!! Okay now the other part, with all the MyNBA settings like trade, contract, progression, etc...those will be coming right after the gameplay sliders, but UNFORTUNATELY, u won't be able to download them cuz it STILL doesn't work on new gen. Insane we still can't do this. I can upload them, but there's no download function. So it's pointless. I remain dumbfounded we still can't do this. I will have everything in a Google doc tho. So u'll be able to get everything. It's just a pain in the ass having to enter them in EVERYTIME when u start a new MyNBA. Especially the progression sliders r just brutal and take forever. I'll get a little more into this in the release video...and for future reference, u'll be all squared away in terms of accessing anything if u watch the whole release video. I usually do like instruction-related stuff near the end!👍

Does the CPU do a better job of double teaming and recovering in the low post for mismatches? Last year it was so easy to kick the ball out to the open man or have them cut to the basket

I have a point guard with 97 steal rating and 2 guard with 92 steal rating. What is going on. What is a good realistic setting for this area or is there another slider that I need to adjust? CPU defense on the other hand is OD. They help 100%, can't blowby anybody. They don't miss shots offensively. This game sucks
My problem is how do I just make the center help, like if I’m playing a team of all shooters but their center can’t shoot at all, I make it so my team focus defensive hope settings are no help, but then go to the center who can’t shoot and change the settings to help no rotation but it still doesn’t work?
How come double team doesn't work anymore? L1 is completely unresponsive, double settings in Gameplan are completely unresponsive, and timeout screen double team assignments are completely unresponsive... What gives?

Yeah ur right...cpu vs cpu custom sliders is a bigger priority on last gen than new gen! I wish they'd make a new gen PC version! I'll have both gens covered for sure tho!!

I asked this on the previous video but to completely rehash that concern: I know you’re only just getting into 2k24 but my issue with 2k23 was the UI friendliness, there was none, it was a nightmare to find out where my saved sliders were and just getting into my saved leagues made no sense, please tell me that is fixed. It was so bad I TRIED to go back to 2K21 to play on my CPU vs CPU leagues, only to find out that 2K updated 2k21 after closing their servers by removing the ENTIRE 2020 draft class from the game, removing the ability to start in the off-season, and actually removing some stats and attributes from certain players like Kobe, and in doing so my data for 2k21 could not be recovered because it had data and players in it that now do not exist in that game. It’s egregious.

@@sarcasm3605 Dang it I'm sorry I didn't see u had replied till now🤦♂My bad. But I'll still answer it just in case...it's pretty much the same for the UI stuff this year. I also wish they would improve it but I think it does get at least manageable as u get used to it. The saved sliders aren't terrible, I suppose, cuz u can hit to download a set and then just go to "my files" and it'll have all of ur slider sets there together. As long as u name them accordingly so u can recognize them. The whole saved leagues thing is kind of a disaster tho. As someone who tests on a lotta different leagues, I literally write down which is which so I can remember. Now that I think about it tho...I think u can actually re-name each league file to make it easier, so that's good. My opinion would be to not let that stop u from enjoying the game...but I understand where ur coming from for sure
@@prettynhnupe Yeah there is an overall lack of turnovers this year...it's a common theme across different modes. I'm currently tryna get more TO's in CPU vs CPU testing rn, and it's rough. There definitely r other sliders that can help tho: steal success, stealing, hands, go for on ball steals and play passing lanes. R u currently on my sliders or something else?
U mean the help defense slider under the coaching sliders tab, right? I'm still confirming this, but I actually have quite a bit of evidence that it doesn't matter one bit. Lemme know if u see any patterns but I got literally no difference at all. I don't think it's completely useless, I just think we're kind of overriding it by setting the help rules settings. Those take precedent. Now if u leave all the help rules on auto, then that slider allows u to kinda tune how much they help. Almost like ur telling the coach okay I'm leaving it up to u on our help rules...but I'm gonna put this slider high or low to give u a general idea of how much help I'd like to see overall. It's almost like a slider for those who don't wanna get too detailed and mess with their defensive settings. I do wanna experiment more with it while they're on auto just for info...but I generally don't like to leave any defensive settings on auto. I almost always find that it's best to not leave such decisions up to the coach/game. I'll prolly do a video on it tho if I find anything solid

Yo have you saw that you can't change the sliders in a mynba online league ? No matter what you do the sliders revert back
I actually haven't been in an online one yet this year cuz I've just been testing...so which sliders r u talking about exactly?
The workaround is to start an online league with custom as the default and front there you can change or add the sliders

I asked this on the previous video but to completely rehash that concern: I know you’re only just getting into 2k24 but my issue with 2k23 was the UI friendliness, there was none, it was a nightmare to find out where my saved sliders were and just getting into my saved leagues made no sense, please tell me that is fixed. It was so bad I TRIED to go back to 2K21 to play on my CPU vs CPU leagues, only to find out that 2K updated 2k21 after closing their servers by removing the ENTIRE 2020 draft class from the game, removing the ability to start in the off-season, and actually removing some stats and attributes from certain players like Kobe, and in doing so my data for 2k21 could not be recovered because it had data and players in it that now do not exist in that game. It’s egregious.
Wow yeah that is simply horrendous. So when u say u had trouble finding the saved sliders, do u mean all the league sliders like trade, progression, contract, etc?
@@ThePopboy for 2k23 next gen I couldn’t find where my saved sliders were going after I tweaked them, you know for myleague they had those two spaces where saved leagues went and it was just needlessly confusing. I was hoping you might have good things to say about how the UI for this years 2k handles
Can you talk about the defense? I can't get any steals. I turn the cpu ball security to zero, no steals. I turn it to 100, no steals. I have a point guard with 97 steal rating and 2 guard with 92 steal rating. What is going on. What is a good realistic setting for this area or is there another slider that I need to adjust? CPU defense on the other hand is OD. They help 100%, can't blowby anybody. They don't miss shots offensively. This game sucks
@@sarcasm3605 Dang it I'm sorry I didn't see u had replied till now🤦♂My bad. But I'll still answer it just in case...it's pretty much the same for the UI stuff this year. I also wish they would improve it but I think it does get at least manageable as u get used to it. The saved sliders aren't terrible, I suppose, cuz u can hit to download a set and then just go to "my files" and it'll have all of ur slider sets there together. As long as u name them accordingly so u can recognize them. The whole saved leagues thing is kind of a disaster tho. As someone who tests on a lotta different leagues, I literally write down which is which so I can remember. Now that I think about it tho...I think u can actually re-name each league file to make it easier, so that's good. My opinion would be to not let that stop u from enjoying the game...but I understand where ur coming from for sure
@@prettynhnupe Yeah there is an overall lack of turnovers this year...it's a common theme across different modes. I'm currently tryna get more TO's in CPU vs CPU testing rn, and it's rough. There definitely r other sliders that can help tho: steal success, stealing, hands, go for on ball steals and play passing lanes. R u currently on my sliders or something else?
Help defense on what?0-100
U mean the help defense slider under the coaching sliders tab, right? I'm still confirming this, but I actually have quite a bit of evidence that it doesn't matter one bit. Lemme know if u see any patterns but I got literally no difference at all. I don't think it's completely useless, I just think we're kind of overriding it by setting the help rules settings. Those take precedent. Now if u leave all the help rules on auto, then that slider allows u to kinda tune how much they help. Almost like ur telling the coach okay I'm leaving it up to u on our help rules...but I'm gonna put this slider high or low to give u a general idea of how much help I'd like to see overall. It's almost like a slider for those who don't wanna get too detailed and mess with their defensive settings. I do wanna experiment more with it while they're on auto just for info...but I generally don't like to leave any defensive settings on auto. I almost always find that it's best to not leave such decisions up to the coach/game. I'll prolly do a video on it tho if I find anything solid
