I can never follow a pattern either. Even if I have a pattern, I'm always modifying it to suit myself. 🤭🤭 I feel for Oddie... we all are getting a little more gray. But, still beautiful! Great job on your first episode!! I appreciate the brevity. So many are much too long. Yours is a perfect length.
Thank you for the feedback! I am hoping to mostly keep them on the shorter side. i enjoy watching podcasts of all lengths though. Just depends what mood I am in! I modify most patterns too. When I first started knitting sweaters I did not do any modifications and I regret some now. I guess the more you make the more learn about how they fit on your body. No two bodies are the same so modifications make sense!
Do turn your design into a pattern, because I would love to knit it up. Enjoyed your first video. I admire anyone who can actually finish a jumper. I’ve got half finished items everywhere. Love your sweaters and the yarns too. Tfs
Thank you so much! I am glad you are interested my in sweater pattern, I was worried no body would be! I am hoping to have it ready to goby the fall. I too have a lot of unfinished sweaters and other knits laying about everywhere! Hope you manage to finish some!
Hello Dana, I just wanted to say that Odette, is sooooo adorable! My brindle, long hair chihuahua, Josie, is 15 years old and also has gotten quite white……. I love all your beautiful sweaters! And pink looks like your color! I may have to find a pattern and cast on a pink sweater! I just finished an Ankers Summer Shirt. All yarn is beautiful and useful in its own way. It just depends on what and who it’s made for. I always make sure to find easy care yarn for baby gifts. Thank You for sharing!
I absolutely agree. It is like using the right the tool for the job! or in this case the right yarn for the sweater! I am all in favour of you casting on a pink sweater. I am a huge proponent of pink yarn! Josie sounds so adorable. Most people are surprised when I tell them Odette is a chihuahua. They don't know they can have long hair!
Omg! Hi Dana, welcome to TH-cam! This is Diane ( if you remember me) I worked with your Mom and Dad years ago. Great to see you on here. I have been selling my knitting for a while ( very different from what you make) and recently started posting here too. Looks like your channel will be a huge success, all the best!
Hi Diane! Of course I remember you! What a small world for you to find me on here! That is exciting to hear you are selling knits! That would be a dream.
Hello Dana! You had me at the sweater you have on! I never considered a wide-neck sweater, but seeing yours has me totally convinced! Would love to test knit your "My Own Designs" sweaters. Subscribed & already addicted to your podcasts. Thanks for sharing yourself & your beautiful sweaters with the world! 🥰❤️🧶
Hello! Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it. I will announce it on my podcast when the sweater is ready for test knitting. Thank you for your interest in it!
Hello fellow knitting Manitoban! Such a small world for you to find my podcast, there are so many out there! I am glad to hear you are interested in my sweater pattern. i was worried no one would be! I will be sure to announce on my podcast and instagram when it is ready for testing. I am hoping to have the pattern ready for the fall.
That is amazing!!!! Such a small world! Glad to hear there are others in my area! I am about 10 minutes from Winnipeg perimeter. I will have to check your podcast out!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the comment and your support! looking at my yarn stash, there will likely be more pink to come in the near future!
Thank you! Two factors come in to account when I choose to knit a sweater - if I will wear it, and if I will enjoy the process. Once I find one that fits both of those I tend to knit it, a lot!
Yay!!! Another Canadian knitting podcaster!🇨🇦🧶 Greetings from a fellow Canadian who lives outside Chicago (born in Gimli!) Hope Odette continues to get better
Hello fellow Canadian! Gimli is so close! Thank you so much for watching my podcast, I will be sure to check yours out too! What is your podcast called? Odette is all better now!
Sorry….lost track of your response. I do not podcast, I quite enjoy having a knitting podcaster on while I knit and I am thrilled when it is a fellow Canadian. Happy knitting!!!
Thank you for watching and commenting! The Seleste sweater by Sari Norlund is amazing! I have actually knit two of it already! The yoke is a bit of a challenge but absolutely worth it. Hidden Pond Yarns is my favourite place to buy yarn! She is an indie dyer that has over 100 colour ways available on 8 bases (I think). What I love most about her shop is that you can pick your colour and your base anytime you want, rather than some dyers that just release collections. This way, you can buy the perfect yarn for a project whenever you need it!
@@theprairieknitter as long as Odette doesn't mind of course. I really miss my little Lily. You did really well, you must speak a lot with people with your profession or you're just a natural and your knits are quality like what you would see in Sezane. 🌼🌼
Hi from BC. I'm so glad I came across your podcast. I loved it! What beautiful knits you make. You should definitely publish some of your patterns. They're lovely! I can't wait to see more. xoxo
Hello fellow Canadian! Thank you so much for watching and commenting! It means so much to me! I will try to publish my patterns. Hopefully they will e ready for the fall, if I can figure out sizing! Take care,
Thank you! I hope I will be a designer in the near future!!!!! So far I have just been doing them for myself. I have to figure out how to do sizing. It is intimidated. But I am feeling motivated to figure it out! Thank you for watching and commenting! 🥰
Thank you so much! Glad to hear you love pink just like I do! I will likely have a lot more pink to show in the future based on my yarn stash! Take care
So glad you liked it! I'm planning on writing it up sometime. I will be doing my sweater pattern first. If that goes well, I will write up the tee-shirt pattern too!
Great potential! Keep going. In future add sites for pattern and yarn in description. I'm old and lazy. ☺️ Ur info about ur impression on project is very informative. The patterns that u design could b put in Ravelry w a very limited description. Want u to make $. I look forward to next vlog. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your comment and taking the time to give me tips! I love your suggestion of adding the links and will do so for my future videos. I will see about writing up my patterns for sale on ravelry. it would be very exciting to do that! Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much!!! I love old dogs too! Odie is 13 years of age. But she usually acts like she is still 5. Thank you for watching and subscribing! It means so much to me that people are watching and commenting and subscribing!
I find they do stretch a bit because they are very drapey. But I do find blocking makes a big difference in the drape and it evens out the stitches so nicely. I have not tried re-blocking yet to see if I can get them to shrink back.
Thank you so much. I think pink is my favourite right now as it seems to be what I have the most of! Glad you enjoyed it too. I haven't worn my knits too heavily yet, but so far the alpaca yarn has not pilled at all. I'll go more in detail about this in my next video! Thank you for the question!
Thank you so much! Glad to hear others like the wide necks as well. I will write up the pattern and have it ready hopefully for this fall. I hope your daughter will enjoy it! She is very lucky to have a knitter for a mother!
Hi Dana! Loved your episode! Love your yarn choices!! So gorgeous! And can’t wait to see more and connect with you!
Thank you so much! I look forward to connecting more too!
Hello from Northern BC. So nice to see a TH-camr from Western Canada and hear about Canadian yarn producers. Looking forward to seeing more from you👏
Hello!!! Thank you so much! There are so many amazing yarn dyers and producers in Canada! I hope to find more myself!
So nice to "meet" you and Odette (hope I spelled that right?) You did a great job on your first episode!
Thank you so much! I was so nervous while filming this video! It is tough talking to a camera! Odette says hello too!
I can never follow a pattern either. Even if I have a pattern, I'm always modifying it to suit myself. 🤭🤭

Love your sweaters and the fact that you knit what you love!

Thanks for introducing Hidden Pond Yarn. Your bobbled Nordlund project is especially beautiful. Waving from WA state.

Aww thank you! I talk all day for my job and do plenty of presentations, so I guess that has paid off here! I hope I can keep it up!

Hi from BC! ❤
Hello from Manitoba! So glad to hear from fellow Canadians! Thank you so much for saying Hi!
P..s. Love little Odette, she is a sweetheart.
I will be sure to let her know! I think all this love is going to her head!
👍
Odie is beautiful. I love old dogs. How young is she?
And I enjoy/subscribed to your vlog😊
Thank you so much!!! I love old dogs too! Odie is 13 years of age. But she usually acts like she is still 5. Thank you for watching and subscribing! It means so much to me that people are watching and commenting and subscribing!
I love wide necklines too! Everything is too tight around the neck these days :)
I am completely with you on that!!!! I love wide neck sweaters. if my neck gets cold, I will knit a shawl for it!
How do you find the memory with the alpaca and how your sweaters keep there shape please?
I find they do stretch a bit because they are very drapey. But I do find blocking makes a big difference in the drape and it evens out the stitches so nicely. I have not tried re-blocking yet to see if I can get them to shrink back.
Hi! I loved the pink parade, I was wondering with the alpaca yarn you used, do you find that it grows or pills a lot?
Thank you so much. I think pink is my favourite right now as it seems to be what I have the most of! Glad you enjoyed it too. I haven't worn my knits too heavily yet, but so far the alpaca yarn has not pilled at all. I'll go more in detail about this in my next video! Thank you for the question!
Hi I love your pink and yellow tees,by the way I have that same yellow Buraco Modern Cotton to knit soon. 😊
Thank you! That is awesome that you have the same yarn! It is a great colour! you will have to share with me what you end up knitting wth it!
I want to knit sweaters for my daughter, who likes wide necks. Please, write the patterns! 😊
Thank you so much! Glad to hear others like the wide necks as well. I will write up the pattern and have it ready hopefully for this fall. I hope your daughter will enjoy it! She is very lucky to have a knitter for a mother!
