    I've never been to any dirt race whatsoever, but I plan on changing that soon. What I like is the level of innovation, engineering, and creativity in the cars. Some people call it "cheating", I wish the NASCAR Cup series still had this aspect, no longer with the next gen car.

      You need to go for sure. The action and excitement is way more then asphalt racing. What state you live in and I see if I can suggest a good event for you to go watch. The local shows are good also go support them and bring a friend along.

      @@bluegrassboy2448 ok so no big big event near by in June. But go check out any of these tracks; Volunteer Speedway (bulls gap) high banked 3/8mi, Tri-County raceway-bull ring 1/4mi, Smoky mountain raceway- 1/2 mile, Crossville Speedway 3/8 bull ring, 411 motor Speedway 3/8mi, Boyd's raceway, dirt track at Charlotte. These are all good race tracks They race all a little bit differently, but lots of action good racing, good people, and good food.

    Back in the day I use to make shock drop brackets by taking two shock mounts and welding them together lol I was like 17 trying to be NASA on my race car. Lol it’s cool to see I was on the right track 😂

    Great content, wish I knew more about what the rear axle is doing on these cars. I work on passenger cars but really enjoy the clever goofy engineering race cars use. That is a hell of a shop. What's your story? How did you get to this point?

    So it basically comes down to setting the dynamic anti squat value to load the left rear tire

      Grew up in South Carolina still based here for now if not traveling with someone. , However, I did more racing west of Carolina's then in my home area. Just because there was more of it in mid and western Tennessee and surrounding regions.

    I assume you have a video on this but my understanding of late model rear suspension is that its designed so the left rear wheel can move forward and backward in relation to being in a turn vs straight away. Is this true? And if so is there a video that explains how all this works?

    • @DirtTrackDave
      @DirtTrackDave  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well some what, both RR and LR move. LR moves forward and down and right rear moves up in body roll and travels rearward slightly.

    • @tankerboysabot
      @tankerboysabot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DirtTrackDave interesting. For some reason i thought the left rear was built on some sort of pivot. But after seeing the suggested video at the end of this video it made more sense. Thanks for the reply.

    What's a good rear percentage on a limited car when scaling

    • @DirtTrackDave
      @DirtTrackDave  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I try to keep cars under 53% with any motor type. Very rarely do I go over that.

  • @CensoredFreedom615
    @CensoredFreedom615 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So, as the nigh goes on, I should increase the length of my limiter chain??

    • @DirtTrackDave
      @DirtTrackDave  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well that depends on drive in the car. Some car need less chain adjustment then others. Having said that, yes as long as as drive is needed in car. But can have too much.

    • @CensoredFreedom615
      @CensoredFreedom615 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Too much just means lifting the LF and making the car too tight on throttle, right?

    • @DirtTrackDave
      @DirtTrackDave  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To much drop can make a car have to much instant traction, and causes RF to travel slightly more. Picking up LF is a combination of to much LR drop, 5th to far forward and RR to soft of load number /low RR ride height.

    Dave what’s your opinion on running a chain on the right rear?

    • @DirtTrackDave
      @DirtTrackDave  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Details on RR chain are for paid customers on consulting program. Having said that, the RR chain is old school, GRT were notorious pretty much bolted on and leave it in. However, cars then we're lacking traction compared to how much rear grip cars have advanced with. The chair was a crutch that is now replaced with under rail design in cars. Plus you won't rip a shock in two with a chain on that cars run without under rail.
