I was crazy obsessed with Hilary & her music as a kid and have zero regrets. I miss these days so bad sometimes it physically hurts. She is so magical! So glad she had a successful and clean career, one of a kind! and now she dedicates herself to her family and seems happy 🙏🏼❤️ / Still listening in 2021
When music was uplifting and empowering our youth instead of validating their confusion and anger as a reality... different time, different values I suppose.
You put this perfectly. I was born in 2000 and I’ve watched music go from helping me have faith in happiness to the radio playing songs somehow encouraging my depression. Whether it’s intentional or not. I think we have so much nostalgia over times like this because it is not even close to how it used to be. I was pretty young being a fan of her but I saw the change in Disney and music growing up.
In a moment, everything can change Feel the wind on your shoulders For a minute, all the world can wait Let go of your yesterday Can you hear it calling Can you feel it in your soul Can you trust this longing And take control Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away You can shine Forget about the reasons why you can't in life And start to try Cause it's your time Time to fly All your worries, leave them somewhere else Find a dream you can follow Reach for something when there's nothing left And the world's feeling hollow Can you hear it calling Can you feel it in your soul Can you trust this longing And take control Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away You can shine Forget about the reasons why you can't in life And start to try Cause it's your time Time to fly And when you're down and feel alone Just wanna run away Trust yourself and don't give up You know you better than anyone else In a moment, everything can change Feel the wind on your shoulders For a minute, all the world can wait Let go of yesterdays Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away You can shine Forget about the reasons why you can't in life And start to try Start to Fly Forget about the reasons why you can't in life And start to try, 'cause it's your time Time to Fly In a moment, everything can change
Mannnnn when I say I was in LOVE with her(still is, but especially when she was on disney), her, the Cheetah girls, and Aly & Aj. That's all I cared about and wanting to always go to their concerts!!!!!!
I had a bedroom full of Hilary Duff posters growing up. She was a true role model and this song gave me chills every time. Now 25, I still feel the chills.
When this song came out my middle school and high school had someone that came out every year that would show actual drunk driving wrecks and photos of people who drank and drove and killed people and family photos and stuff like that I think. This song was perfect for the videos and it fucked with me.
The first original cd that my parents bought me was this one !!! And I still have it after years and in good conditions!!! Hilary was part important of my life and I’m so grateful I saw her in Mexico City in 2006 ♥️
She still has the same smile, and I remember when this song was on MTV and she likes most of us went through a lot, like any other pop singer at that time, but I feel really happy that she was always true to herself and is happy with her life and family. I still listen to this in 2024!

This song saved me in high school. I was depressed and at one point suicidal. This song gave me hope and made it sound realistic. At any moment, everything can change for the best or for the worst. We always need to be prepared for the worst, but always hope for the best in life.
This was always one of my fav songs by her when I was a kid. Now being 23 and _actually_ listening to the lyrics, I can see why I loved it so much. Such a beautiful empowering song
This made me cry... is the message that I was always singing when I was a kid and it has so much meaning for me, because I'm starting believeing in myself deeply... thank you Hilary for being always there with your songs and good energy, you're amazing and I will always admire you.
I definitely will I've been looking for this song for a very long time and now that I have found it I'm going to listen to it until the day I die the song is awesome maybe underrated but I'm glad that I found it.
"Trust yourself and don't give up You know you better than anyone else" This is one of the many songs i was obsessed with as a child (and still love today) where even though I know all the words, I never really thought about the lyrics until I saw them written out. This song is even more awesome after rereading the lyrics! :)
This song gives me the courage to keep going on.She was such a huge influence in my life when I was a teenager!!I always used to say my older sister looked so much like her.
I was in the audience when they filmed this video, in Worcester, MA! It was the first stop on her "Most Wanted" tour. My Mom and I brought our own glow sticks in, but I remember being so pissed about security letting in posters. We were told posters were NOT allowed. We're up in the nosebleeds, I found us at one point, we're the only ones with purple glow sticks!!! We had so much fun, she put on a great show!
I remember somewhat more than half my life ago, looking throigh CD's in Target, and this album was one of a couple that came home with me that day. I had no clue who Hilary Duff was, but I thought she was just gorgeous and just had to know how she sounded. I convinced my very prudent mom, who probably saw straight through my spiel, that "she makes really good, high quality music." Wouldn't ya know, I started listening to the CD when i got home, and it turned out that I was absolutely right! I guess that was almost two decades ago - and it is still good music!
Hilary comes from a stable family and had an amazing support system. Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, Hayden P...not so much. Walk in someone's shoes before you judge.
I remember being younger and first hearing this song and feeling so inspired and now that I come across it several years later, I feel even MORE inspired. There's not a lot of popular songs like this; so sad. But shout out to Hilary!
@@Ashleyunfiltered The lyrics spoke to me when I first heard it. I went and bought the CD for this one song and would put it on repeat. Lol. Very inspirational lyrics.
I remember watching this movie as a teenager. Buying the DVD & replaying some of the scenes over & over again. Her performance here is so beautiful. 😍 It is such an inspiring movie. 🙌🏼
Never liked her back then when I was a teenager, thought she was too superficial. But after the last decade hitting rock bottom, coming back from a long depression and actually starting to achieve things... as a 30 years old man this song speaks to my soul.
Any moment, everything can change. Feel the wind on your shoulders. For a minute, all the world can wait. Let go of your yesterday. Can you hear it calling? Can you feel it in your soul? Can you trust this longing And take control? Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away. You can shine. Forget about the reasons why you can in life. And start to try 'Cause it's your time Time to fly. All your worries, leave them somewhere else. Find a dream you can follow. Reach for somthing when there's nothing left. And the world's feelin hollow. Can you hear it calling? Can you feel it in your soul? Can you trust this longing And take control? Fly Open up the part of you that wants to hide away. You can shine. Forget about the reasons why you…
Not gonna lie, after all this years I consider this my favourite song. Not because it's beautiful, not because it's tied to a particular event, but because it makes me feel something. Of course there are a lot of songs out there which make me feel real emotions, but this song... it's like a favourite book, like a sensation. It gives such a positive message, but it has also something sad in it. "Any moment, everything can change" that's true and not always positive. I don't listen to this song every day, but sometimes I need it to think, to "return to myself".
Carolyn Wheeler ME TOO! I was obsessed and watched this video so many times just admiring her looks and would try and look like her and lip sync in the mirror in my room with a hairbrush 😂
ok I was looking for this comment ! I had a depressing episode after getting this cd for xmas. Out of nowhere might not have to do with it but it feels like it does. Weiiiiird. I love her tho.
This song is from a movie, where her brother dies in a car accident with her in the car... It used to play on disney channel with footage of the accident scene... That is why it used to make me sad too... Now It's more nostalgia

In a moment, everything can change
Feel the wind on your shoulders
For a minute, all the world can wait
Let go of your yesterday
Can you hear it calling
Can you feel it in your soul
Can you trust this longing
And take control
Fly
Open up the part of you that wants to hide away
You can shine
Forget about the reasons why you can't in life
And start to try
Cause it's your time
Time to fly

Make sure you all still listen to this song in 2020. Okay pinky promise guys"
Alyaa Natasya I certainly will
I definitely will I've been looking for this song for a very long time and now that I have found it I'm going to listen to it until the day I die the song is awesome maybe underrated but I'm glad that I found it.
Alyaa Natasya im
2 hours into 2020 here 🙌🏼
3rd day of 2020🙏🏻
"Trust yourself and don't give up
You know you better than anyone else"
This is one of the many songs i was obsessed with as a child (and still love today) where even though I know all the words, I never really thought about the lyrics until I saw them written out. This song is even more awesome after rereading the lyrics! :)
This song gives me the courage to keep going on.She was such a huge influence in my life when I was a teenager!!I always used to say my older sister looked so much like her.
I love this song. It’s very nostalgic to me😢
I was in the audience when they filmed this video, in Worcester, MA!
I miss my childhood :(
Everyone to that
so do i.. so do i..
Paola Andrea my jam i was young asf am 25
Paola Andrea me too 😭😭😭
I don't miss my childhood even my twins sisters don't miss there's childhood!
I remember somewhat more than half my life ago, looking throigh CD's in Target, and this album was one of a couple that came home with me that day. I had no clue who Hilary Duff was, but I thought she was just gorgeous and just had to know how she sounded. I convinced my very prudent mom, who probably saw straight through my spiel, that "she makes really good, high quality music."
Wouldn't ya know, I started listening to the CD when i got home, and it turned out that I was absolutely right!
I guess that was almost two decades ago - and it is still good music!
Hillary Duff's music aged very well! 🙌🙌🙌
She took care of herself and didnt go crazy like the rest.
I don't think Selena did either. As well as Sabrina
Hilary comes from a stable family and had an amazing support system. Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, Hayden P...not so much. Walk in someone's shoes before you judge.
@@l7weenie273 wow do you know everything about Hilary Duff??
@@emillee-raine no shade but Selena has been in and out of rehab more than 3 times, glad she's better now though.
Khadi Haramain wasn’t she going through ana?
I remember being younger and first hearing this song and feeling so inspired and now that I come across it several years later, I feel even MORE inspired. There's not a lot of popular songs like this; so sad. But shout out to Hilary!
Same the lyrics are actually really Beautiful and deep , like it speaks to me now that I'm older and actually can take in what she is singing about ❤️
@@Ashleyunfiltered The lyrics spoke to me when I first heard it. I went and bought the CD for this one song and would put it on repeat. Lol. Very inspirational lyrics.
I remember watching this movie as a teenager. Buying the DVD & replaying some of the scenes over & over again.
Her performance here is so beautiful. 😍
It is such an inspiring movie.

Can you trust this longing
And take control?
Fly
Open up the part of you that wants to hide away.
You can shine.
Forget about the reasons why you can in life.
And start to try
'Cause it's your time
Time to fly.
All your worries, leave them somewhere else.
Find a dream you can follow.
Reach for somthing when there's nothing left.
And the world's feelin hollow.
Can you hear it calling?
Can you feel it in your soul?
Can you trust this longing
And take control?
Fly
Open up the part of you that wants to hide away.
You can shine.
Forget about the reasons why you…
"LET GO OF YESTERDAY" Perfect definition of "MOVE ON"

Wow
Oh m'y good 😱 I've been listening to this beautiful song for a long time 🥺🥺♥️🥺😱♥️
I like her songs forever 🎉🎉🎉
Not gonna lie, after all this years I consider this my favourite song. Not because it's beautiful, not because it's tied to a particular event, but because it makes me feel something. Of course there are a lot of songs out there which make me feel real emotions, but this song... it's like a favourite book, like a sensation. It gives such a positive message, but it has also something sad in it. "Any moment, everything can change" that's true and not always positive. I don't listen to this song every day, but sometimes I need it to think, to "return to myself".
I Agree!
that´s the reeeal true
Yesssss ❤️
Agreed 💯 💜
"Forget about the reasons why you can in life and start to try 'cause it's your time to fly"
old artists are better than the new ones. simple lyrics, clothing yet meaningful enough.
2004...OOF was not ready to read that lol. Im grateful we had Hillary Duff as a role model growing up.
I love her, miss her :( I actually love all her songs.
There's just something about her that's so magnetically captivating and pleasant that I never get over... ;)
"Raise Your Voice" is one of my favorite all time movies, & watching that movie is how I became obsessed with this song!!
I always wanted to be her when I was younger. Dress like her, hair like her, makeup, everything.
Carolyn Wheeler ME TOO! I was obsessed and watched this video so many times just admiring her looks and would try and look like her and lip sync in the mirror in my room with a hairbrush 😂
When I was a kid, this song used to make me feel depressed for some reason. Now that I’m 25, it still does :/
Its such an uplifting song
ok I was looking for this comment ! I had a depressing episode after getting this cd for xmas. Out of nowhere might not have to do with it but it feels like it does. Weiiiiird. I love her tho.
So did I.. was looking for it too. It still stays with me. Not sure why
This song is from a movie, where her brother dies in a car accident with her in the car... It used to play on disney channel with footage of the accident scene... That is why it used to make me sad too... Now It's more nostalgia
@@yarasn93 raise your voice? I hope i'm not wrong
I need more of this era of singing
This is her best song ever❤❤❤❤❤
