We Were Immortal - By Randy Bowles We were immortal. The ones who’d never die. The current generation, With stardust in our eyes. Young and strong invincible, We were built to last. Now I cast my eyes around, My friends are going fast. No one could ever tell us, What to do or who to be. We were the young ones, We had all eternity. Then someone turned the page, Someone took our place. The never ending cycle, Of the human race. I suppose it’s natural, For anyone so young, To think that only their songs, Will forever be sung. But soon the music stops, And new songs are begun. Another generation, Is now forever young. When our song is over, When we’ve left the choir, We’ll take comfort knowing, In our time we brought the fire. When our songs come to an end, New ones take their place. The never ending story Of the human race. We were immortal. The ones who’d never die. The current generation, With stardust in our eyes. The current generation, Now stardust in the sky.
Thanks so much! I need better equipment and a band; but I do what I can with what I have. :) I get to debut it in concert tomorrow night at the art gallery I have been playing at for 15 years. -- This is actually my "stealth" channel. I post my extra songs here and every once in a while one of them seems to find favor with people. Here is a link to my main channel, with a hundred originals, almost all written in the last 2 years. I attribute my newly found songwriting ability to Lecithin, a very inexpensive supplement which feeds brains. :) For real! th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=randy+%22jimmie+james%22+bowles+channel
Thank you everyone, for all the views Ive been getting on this channel. I have another channel with 100 original songs. Here is a link to a playlist on that channel, of all my originals. Please check it out and perhaps subscribe? th-cam.com/play/PLZJXx5FErYdievc3kYa8ZXOVc47P1PvMR.html
Thank you! I was taking a bath and the lyrics starting coming into my head. I had to remember them until I could rinse and dry off! Seriously. I'm either in the tub or bed when the songs come. Oh yes, and washing dishes. -- I should try doing some ironing and see what happens... ;) I'm sorry. I just ate a bunch of chocolate.
Greetings Randy, I love your spirit and I love the Velvet Illusions! This song speaks to me , I'm 74 and I've been musician and played in bands all of my life...I feel like I've lived this life you sing about in this song. ....Cheers, Dale Duncan
Thank you! I endeavor to write songs that are relatable. I write about the various aspects of human life -- the emotions, the stages, the events, the ongoing search for an excellent life. I have lived way long enough, and am ready to sail off. But if God has different plans, then I'm gonna use the time to share positive, thoughtful compositions. :)
We Were Immortal - By Randy Bowles
We were immortal.
The ones who’d never die.
The current generation,
With stardust in our eyes.
Young and strong invincible,
We were built to last.
Now I cast my eyes around,
My friends are going fast.
No one could ever tell us,
What to do or who to be.
We were the young ones,
We had all eternity.
Then someone turned the page,
Someone took our place.
The never ending cycle,
Of the human race.
I suppose it’s natural,
For anyone so young,
To think that only their songs,
Will forever be sung.
But soon the music stops,
And new songs are begun.
Another generation,
Is now forever young.
When our song is over,
When we’ve left the choir,
We’ll take comfort knowing,
In our time we brought the fire.
When our songs come to an end,
New ones take their place.
The never ending story
Of the human race.
We were immortal.
The ones who’d never die.
The current generation,
With stardust in our eyes.
The current generation,
Now stardust in the sky.
It is wonderful that you have recorded this beautiful song.
Generations to come will get to understand and enjoy what you were thinking.😊

Nice. I write songs about losing old freind and lovers. But its going. To fast more than one a day sometimes ,,,pray.
Thank you.
I believe in prayer; but please clarify for us: what are you suggesting we pray for? Thank you.
Pray for everybody you've loved or lost alive or dead pray. For the state the world is in pray for one another. Amen
@@morningstarmusic6705 I'm not sure we can pray for the dead. But I admit that I find myself doing that from time to time -- can't help it...
@@RandysRamblins-RandyBowl-jb9ou the dead will hear and feel your prayers to. Amen
