Leather armor actually was not as common as you think back then. The most common armor was either a sort of layered thick cloth armor, chain mail or platemail.
If Leather Armor was so common, Cows would have gone extinct from the demand alone...

In Simon's defense (and all other Belmonts as well), that leather clothes makes him look badass and that whip vanquishes evil. Even Dracula himself.

I find this extra funny considering that the "cross" is actually based on the xenoblade mutiverses only real zohar, which is, from my understanding of the gnostisism symbolism and whatnot throughout the xeno series, representative of some sort of method of acending to a higher plane, often to become one with a monotheistic or henotheistic god

To be fair, they have forcefields to perspective them, and under normal circumstances even that would be overkill as they should be able to regenerate from anything that doesn't damage the Core Crystal. (Pyra and Mythra are a special case and lost much of their regeneration, but that's a relatively recent development for them.)
I mean, Pneuma(Pyra/Mythra together) was made by basically God, so it kinda makes sense...

@@joelrobinson5457 I can think of 2 separate times they were crucified. Monolithsoft and Xeno love their religious references. In the context of Alrest's mythology, they're basically the equivalent of angels, seen as divine messengers of the Architect (God).

So it's actually _less_ Latin than modern English, at least in this specific instances.

The joke in the video is that Simon mistakes Pyra's crystal for a cross, the symbol of Christianity, so think Simon think she is a follower of his faith (He uses crosses as a weapon). The Lemuel's joke was a play on words, changing the phrase lord of lords to sword of swords by swapping the first letters. Which is also kinda funny since Pyra does have a very Jesus-esque roll in her story.
Pyra: "In my game, we just called him father."
Simon: "Capital F Father?"
Pyra: "No, but he had half a mind to put me in time out if I called him daddy."
Her brother literally addressed Him as "wise dad."
P.S. I'm not certain about her, but I could find her brother using a capital F in Father.

I mean, Pneuma (Pyra and Mythra's true form) is a creation of a being called the Architect, who is pretty much the main deity of Alrest in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, so Simon technically isn't wrong when he says that she's "a follower of the Lord". He just didn't clarify which one.

I think the Aegis core crystal, and by proxy the Conduit and again by proxy the Zohar from Xenosaga were all designed off of the Crucifix, because there is HEAVY symbolism of Christian mythos and stories across the entire Xeno franchise.

Um, neither Red nor Leaf captured Arceus.
Canonically the farthest they went (or at least could've went) is Mewtwo, and(/as) that's the farthest you can get in FRLG (which are Kanto's last faithful set of remakes before we get into Let's Go which changes protags altogether).
Even in HGSS and SM, Red doesn't have any Pokemon from outside of Kanto in his initial (and thus canonical) matches. And Leaf straightup doesn't exist past FRLG outside of Masters, and her Let's Go counterpart (Green) is still looking for Mewtwo even after the player character got it.
Good thing Lucas (DPPt male protag) and Dawn (female version of the former) aren't in this game. '^^

@@extremmefan7305 Her name is Blue, not Leaf or Green (Green is Professor Oak's Grandson). PCs/rival from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum are Diamond, Pearl, and Platina. Dawn and Lucas are non-canon anime characters. Also, none of the PCs canonically capture Arceus though a good number of them, including Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow, have interacted with it.
@@alicesteel Smash and Masters refer to the female Kanto protag as Leaf, so she might as well be called Leaf in most contexts unless you're talking about the manga (Blue and Green) or Let's Go (also Green) equivalents.
Masters also refer to the female Sinnoh PC as Dawn, not "Pearl" or "Platina".
And before you say it, Masters is an officialy-licensed spinoff, meaning that it has one of the most direct inputs from TPC. If it had the names wrong it would've been way past corrected by now, but it wasn't, so it's safe to say it's correct.
The marking on Pyra and Mythra's chest is from the Conduit, which is a reference to the Zohar from the Xenogears and Xenosaga games, which is a reference to the cross

To be fair, metal armor wasn't exactly the best option during Simon's age. Espically considering that, while you can retain a good bit of mobility, would not be too practical in a fight against Dracula himself. Plus, the whip is literally made to kill Vampires while being made from the soul of someone who was about to turn into one who conveniently was also the first wielder of the whips girlfriend.
...I've studied my Castlevania lore as you can see with that last bit.

Plus the "sinful attire that would make even a succubus blush" can be taken as Pyra equating herself to a certain biblical figure related to the city of Babylon. A certain woman dressed in scarlet, if you will.

I'll have you know that leather is very practical when fighting vampires & the undead. It's flexible & comfortable unlike metal armor, so you're movement isn't restricted in much ways at all. Prefect so you can use a chain whip to its fullest extent.
