I used to work for them. The management at this location was awful, racist nitpickers. Once the manager came by while I was making salads, and picked a single lettuce leaf out of the trash, that I had accidentally dropped. He yelled at me that I was wasting food, and wanted me to wash the lettuce leaf and put it back into the salad. The next day, I quit.

I wonder if it was really a shortage of food or too many employees called out because they want to spend holidays with their own families. If companies are going to insist on staying open on these major holidays they need to pay double time and ask for volunteers to work.

When it comes to prepping food, you always always have some extras JUST in case. It's better to have some food not used and stored for later use vs. not have enough food to then cancel orders.

It's just me and my Ex whom I'm helping to get back on his feet. I grew up in a large family and have been cooking since I was a young girl of 10. I can't make anything taste right unless I'm cooking for an army. I always thought I'd be my Grandparents having everybody in for the Holidays but life had/has other plans. I still cook off a 20 to 25 lb bird or ham each and every holiday. I often freeze the left overs once we get sick of eating them.

The main point is that the orders were taken IN ADVANCE. There is no excuse for not having ennough food to fill the orders. Someone simply made a mistake while ordering stock or the computer screwed up. Thankfully it sounds like it was only a couple dozen orders and not the entire days orders. Still, I wouldn't be happy if I was one of those 20 or so families. I hope they were able to find alternative food service.

You can basically walk up to anyone's house on our street, and as long as the front door was open, they will likely have a complete spread. It's sad that the days of family get togethers with grandma putting on a feast are over. I have such fond memories of so many Thanksgivings at Grandma's house with 12-to 15 realitives. Later we had the feast at my parents home when I was an adult. Families are very small these days and most live away from each other. Corporate America has taken over and people don't even cook anymore, just order it from a giant chain restaruant, or go to McDonalds.

The worst managers I've ever worked for were at my CB. Only had one good one there. Once he got promoted to somewhere else, did it go downhill. Always running out of food at dinner time, never enough staff. All becsuse they wanted to increase their bottom lines. In reality, they had more walk outs than ever before. A couple days they actually lost money. I was out of there shortly after. Can't work for managers like that.

There's plenty of reasons to complain, there's plenty of reasons to order your dinner. Not everybody wants to stay in the kitchen for hours, then having to clean it all afterward. I start the Monday before Thanksgiving, but I'm able to do that. Some have jobs, are caring for the elderly, are elderly, and may have been sick up until the day before. It's not always a lazy person. Some people just can't.

Why is this even on the news? It saws right there online as you order the food, that it is only as supplies last. So you know there is a chance they might run out of food before they can prepare your order.
Of course you'll get a refund.
I thought about ordering from them as well, but since I knew it was a risk, I didn't...
Besides, eating a specific menu of food on Thanksgiving day is not the point of the day anyway.

Until supplies last implies get your orders in now. Not that they will run out of food after they have your order. If they’re going to take orders, then you make sure you have the food. Someone dropped the ball when ordering. No excuses!

They got greedy and bit of more than they could chew , I had the same experience with the Front desk ,when I called to pick up my order , very rude on the phone ,stating that they are very busy and I was not the only one for a pick up , I went through 4 people at the FD before I was finally able to get someone, just to confirm my order was ready for pick up on the 21st , they took the money out a month in advance the same day I ordered but was so nasty when it came time to pick up,

Sounds like poor planning on the part of the store. Usually you have an idea of how much food you’ll have on hand to sell (assuming this isn’t their first rodeo). Then provide a cut-off time for people to place their pre-orders. Between then and pick-up, they will place their order for ingredients from their vendors and they should’ve figured out by that point if they’ll have enough food to fulfill these pre-orders. So that if any cancellations should occur, the customers will have time to figure out a backup option, even if the backup is less than ideal. Of course, if any supply chain, stuff happens, but if this is a well oiled machine, they should’ve known ahead of time what they would need and sort it all out.
