Alright so first thing first, these wheels are the real deal. The amount of quality and performance you get for the price of under 1200 is insane, in relevance to the entire market, The ride so comfortably but without feeling sluggish, because of the lightweight they spin up to speed very quickly and the carbon spokes and deep carbon rims they are very fast and very stiff..... check them out in the description and I have a code for $50 dollars off the whole website which is "GC50" at checkout Let me know if you have any questions on these wheels
The Magene chest strap heart rate monitor is significantly better than Wahoo's. I've gone through so many of Wahoo's heart rate monitors because of a lack of water resistance, I'm still on my first Magene HR monitor in over 2 years.
I've had mine for two weeks, put about 500 miles on them. Love them. Light, stable, the price is right, and as a fan of DT Swiss hubs the hub, all I can say is that the Magene version is is amazing.
What do you mean some people call you a shill? You’re one of the most honest and transparent TH-cam channel hosts out there. When something costs more money and you don’t think it’s worth it you say so, when something costs more money and you think it’s worth it, you say so. If anyone has any doubts all they have to do is watch your last video about the Prestacycle cassette. You told us exactly who might want to invest in it and who shouldn’t as well as who might want to and why. If you told everyone to go ahead and buy it, you’d be a shill, but you didn’t, so you’re not. Plus, you’re always honest about when you receive a commission/incentive when reviewing or promoting something.
:) man comments like these have no idea how good it makes me feel.... these are just comments I have heard but I always try to be super honest, and tell people when I think something is a good buy. but honestly this gives me a great attitude heading into the weekend :)

@@GCPerformance18 I would be obsessed with that myself, would you mind sharing who made it? I had mine completely custom from Waltly Titanium in China, absolutely hands down favorite ride of my life so far.
Ive recently converted to an all-out Magene setup (Inner / Power Crank / HRm / Head Unit) on my Falath Evo build excluding the wheels which I had bought a pair about a week or two ago from a brand called Tukus (50mm staggard rim design w/Dt inspired 54t hub and t800 carbon spokes) similarly spec'd to this wheels in the review. Like you said, wheels at the $1k+ mark are legit. I think the reason for the massive price difference is that those brands include image aka snob tax, RnD tax, marketing tax, pro team use tax, crash replacement tax. I'd assume that at most 30% of actual cost is down to manufacturing unless all those brands are using T1000.
look on your hub, what's the middle digit of the 3 digit batch code? When DT Swiss first came out with EXP in 2021 they had some issues. If the middle digit is 1 then it's the improved version.
You need to get your hands on the upcoming Campy WTO Ultra C23's!! In regards to wheel internal widths being too wide and 32mm tires being tractor tires: You need to get out of FL and ride some roads around the rest of the world. Road surfaces are unique to every area. Where I am, I would never go back to any tire less than 30mm. On my daily ADHX I run 303FC with 32mm GP 5000STR's - and am thankful on every single ride that the industry has moved up in widths. I used to ride in FL in the early 2000's, and yes, you can get away with much narrower tires and corn-cobb rear cassettes. 😀
I’ve been running 23mm internal width since 2020, and LOVE how my 26mm Pzero’s stretch out to 28mm, I feel better lateral grip, and can run lower air pressure- so it helps absorb some of that rough patch asphalt. Might have to give these a try since they weigh less than my setup.
From a first impression and design standpoint, they don't look premium. I like the gold accents but I think the decals and colour accents could be done better to reflect its performance and aspirations to compete with premiums brands. Great review as always and love your content, keep up the great work.
I am running the DB405, absolutely love them. Also have magene 606 computer and 705 power meters. You can't go wrong with magene with their price tag at the quality they offer. Next products might be their trainer
Great channel and great review. Not a roadie, but these do look nice. For reference... Conti GP 5000... 28c - 280g 32c - 330g 100g (pair) is not a pound. Lol
I was interested in these when they first popped up due to the 30mm width and I think they look nice but they look a little too close to lower level wheels to me (visually - the gold is alright but it can clash with a lot of paint schemes). When it comes to comparing these to other offerings, I'm not a huge fan of elitewheels' graphics/logos but the marbly carbon and gloss make up for it and make the wheels look a lot more premium and come in a bit cheaper than Magene plus there are more robust discount options with them. I just wish they would make wider rims as an update without altering their price structure.
I wish they had a 58/58 option for the top end. I considered Magene but I personally don't love the staggered look. Their second tier has a 58 / 58 but starts to get heavy at that point.
I think it was more just the lack of grease from factory I just threw them on my bike but honestly this is a non issue, once lubbed up there will be nothing wrong
One thing I want to ask is how do you feel servicability wise on these wheels? Have you asked Magene about getting spokes, bearings, hubs etc if you need replacements?
bearings for the hubs are standard they can be ordered through any local bike shop because they have similar internals to dt swiss, spokes come with the wheels I think two for each wheel and also they can be ordered more through them
they are a huge company you can just reach out to them and get them shipped to you, or the bearings are standard size and any bike shop can order bearings, also hub internals are literally dt swiss old style, so easy to order and spokes we can order from them they wil have a US warehouse very soon and already there product is sold on amazon
that is tough, I think for strict dollar value, if money was the biggest concern magene has the best product on the market. The wheels are absolute amazing.... but fi you want the the extra lighter weight the craft wheels are 100 grams lighter then the magene and a deeper depth in the rear, the craft wheels were one of the best and one of my favorite wheels I rode....... either wheel you will not be disappointed in because right now I am still running the mageen wheels and I do not find myself taking them off anytime soon
@@SkylarsRnD no, I use a Hammerhead Karoo 2 bike computer currently. But the Magene does seem to work perfectly with my Garmin Epix 2 watch. Thinking of upgrading to these bad boys to save some weight. How does these wheelset hold speed above 45km/h ? Switching from Fulcrum Wind DB 55 which is excellent on holding higher speed but very sluggish to accelerate due to heavier weight (1.7kg)
absolute amazing, just did a group ride saturday and it was 26-31mph the whole time, even for those little jolts where someone is serging at the front to accelrate at those speeds as well to keep up the pick up sped quickly and the aero depth of the wheel realy help it hold speed easily

Gets pulled along on flat group rides all day, thats not how you test a bike/components.. Do they feel still, hows the power tranfer, how do they feel when climb, out the saddle? None of that. "tHeSe ArE tHe ReAl DeAl" lol also offers a discount code..come on.
What are you talking about. If I liked specialized so much I would not be showing these wheels I would ride roval. I get pulled along in group rides? I ride fast pace group rides for fun. I ride for fun. Group rides that to the point of where I get dropped because what’s the point of riding a slow group ride. I ride after work some days now 30 miles and averaged 191 watts on flats. I’m not racing I’m not training for anything. I just enjoy riding. A lot of those pull shit claims power transfer, I don’t climb, out the saddle. A lot of the these high end wheels feel very similar if they are the same depth. A discount code is to literally help you. I know I get a kickback but you get a discount for them. Why would I push these wheels if I could just sell roval. Send me your Strava please. I would love to see this elite rider you claim to be. I have been riding bikes since I was 12, I have a pretty good grasp on what feels good and what doesn’t. I have rode some shit bikes. And some shit wheels and shit saddles. But these claims you wanna hear about just go to the company’s website and they have them all there for you in quotation for you to eat up and make your decision
I look forward to your response.
$1100 = 2 year warranty
That’s why they are cheap
No! They are cheap cause there ist no blown up marketing behind the company that makes it expensive.
90% of ALL rims are made in Asia, even from most of the big players outthere.
@@66mikkim zipp 303s are $1100 with a lifetime warranty and huge marketing budgets. What’s your argument there.
@@Yeahwhatdoesthatmean lifetime warranty my ass!
Read the terms of that warranty and you will see that covers only things that happen when you ride, but not accidents, and only to the first owner...Spokes and bearings are also not included.
That warranty is just marketing bullshit ;-)
