Just wanna add for all viewers....this guy has done a great job, but I'd like to advise all....COUNTERSINK YOUR HOLES. One screw can come down and not see your plan exactly as you saw it and blow the surface out once the screw head begins to dig in. While it's not completely necessary, you cut down that risk SO MUCH if you do countersink them.
Why not start with the insert? Then build the walls around it. You've definitely done a great job and I'll be building one myself. Thank you.
Yes you can do that. You may find it more difficult to mastic the joints though.
would it be cleaner to tape the template marking and rip it off after silicone seal then only erase any imperfect corners during the moulding step?
Thats another option yes.
