Would I be able to do this exactly as a kitchen countertop, with just plywood underneath? Asking from the US
I did this on a sample and it scratched the crap out of it
The sample you’ve received is brand new and just sealed. But thanks for the feedback. It takes 30 days for both the sealer and microcement to reach full cure.
Hi, how long have you left the first coat to dry for? I find these are vital info and often not mentioned. Thanks
Hi there. It’s in our instructions which are on our website and all of you products have QR Code links on the packaging to them so they’re there when you need them. It’s about 24 hours though. Any longer and it gets harder to sand!
@@ConcreteLab Thanks! Looking forward to use the kit!
Great job keep the good work up👍😁
Thanks dude I definitely will.
how its made? where to find/buy it? cost?
It's our concrete. Have a look at www.concretelab.co.uk.
after all that and no part 5 wtf lol
The sections which become slightly rougher. How do I get them silky smooth again
Hi Nick. A light sand with the orbital sander will get them smooth.
Would you please tell me what brand of mecrocement I should buy for patina and what I need for base
Sure. It’s our own brand! Concrete Lab!!
Please tell me the information of price and delivery
@user-jr7hk5oo6x please go on our website for this. Www.concretelab.co.uk
What thickness of moisture resistant mdf do you recommend?
18mm usually. If you use cement board you can go thinner and use cement board for an outdoor kitchen don’t use MDF
After how many days you are able to polish it?
Hi Julian. The day after casting and trowelling up.
Just found your website and working through these videos. Excellent and many thanks. Quick question….can you replace the glass fibre strands with carbon ones?
I don't see why not!
So disappointing. No part 5.... long-winded and unsatisfactory
Thanks. Your feedback is appreciated
Hi there we’ve made a cast in place mould and plan to pour very soon please could you advise what products to use
Yes we have a cast-in-place mix just for this. If you go to the help section on our website there is a Cast InPlace Mix calculator to work out how much you require
why not just use tile grout
You won’t get a colour match and tile grout isn’t as strong so will wear out
would it be cleaner to tape the template marking and rip it off after silicone seal then only erase any imperfect corners during the moulding step?
Thats another option yes.
thats yummy show a video thou you did it please Toby
How deep is that worktop? Just bought a few kits off yourself. About to attempt a worktop for a outdoor kitchen
Hi Nick. It is18mm thick with a 50mm deep lip.
How are you removing the frame if you are gluing it to the table?
With a hammer and scraper. The demould is the easy part!
THANKS perfect timing Toby. great to see your videos back
Hey thanks for the feedback Stuart. What are you making this time?
Useless video
Where is part 5 please?!
using cement on wood dosnt makes cracks?
Mua máy trộn ở đâu ah
Để lại cho mình máy trộn
Hi, what mm boards do you use for the mould Thanks in advance
What's the purpose of wax on concrete?
Similar to wood, to provide extra protection and “nourishment” to the surface. It gives the concrete a very pleasant sheen as well 👍🏻
Question can you use GFRC Concrete on fire hearths ?
Yes provided the concrete is 40mm thick or more
Hello What is the flowcrete..?
Fair play to you bruv for answering every single one of these questions, even the moronic ones 😂
😂
How?
Does it need a coat of something like red guard before the prime or is that what it js
The primer does the same job and comes in the pack.
No reinforcements will crack
Correct!!! No reinforcement and it will crack. But it is reinforced with fibres 👍🏻 . It’s our GFRC Worktop Mix being used here.
We need terrazzo tops! More and with dye
You can add decorative aggregates to our mixes. You'll need a water-fed polisher to expose the aggregates though. A bit more complex but very achieveable. Email us at info@concretelab.co.uk if you want more help.
The green is to die for even more than the pink! Is this possible for a small bathroom vanity with under mount sink?! Can I order dye or color with cement?!
Yes. We sell green concrete mixes!
Amazing videos - thanks for sharing. Just a quick question, if I don’t want the ‘lip’ but just a 2cm thick counter top can I just use 2cm strips? I was worried that the thickness might be challenging
Absolutely you can.
Why not start with the insert? Then build the walls around it. You've definitely done a great job and I'll be building one myself. Thank you.
Yes you can do that. You may find it more difficult to mastic the joints though.
Thanks for posting. Are the mesh disks the same as the ones you’d use for wood?
Yes. They get spent a bit more quickly with the concrete obviously but the mesh serves two purposes - majorly reduced dust levels and a pad which doesn’t clog so doesn’t scratch the concrete surface
Thank you!@@ConcreteLab
Is it food - safe?
Yes 👍🏻
No chance of getting your concrete recipe? I have to buy from you? Where? How much?
Hi Gus. Nope no chance of getting our recipe :) IF you want to buy from us please visit www.concretelab.co.uk
great video - thank you!
Pleasure!
how do i create this kind of colour?
Hey there! We sell pink concrete. Check out our website.
Hi, whats the mixture aside cement?
As in the recipe?
@@ConcreteLab yes pls. Thanks
Would you like the Coca-Cola formula as well?
@@ConcreteLab😂
All fun and games till you have to install it. You guys should post a video of you putting it in a counter top. If you did that and prove to me it’s not a thousand pounds, I will personally recommend you to my clients for their fixture needs.
Not sure we have to prove anything to you Jake. But thanks for the invite!
@@ConcreteLab how heavy is your sink
Which one?? We have made thousands. Some weigh quarter of a ton some weigh 25kg.
@@ConcreteLab you do realize every single sink you sell, a plumber up charges their rate because of the weight of your sink
@@jake16542 no Jacob. We work closely with plumbing contractors on both commercial and domestic projects. You’re looking to create conflict here. Go find somewhere else please.
Hi, just a quick question, I’ve not long done on my microcement course in Spain. I would like to know if you make your own Microcement? Please. As I’m a plasterer and am going in to this for my business and advertising, so looking for a good supplier and do you do stuff for bathrooms floors decorative micro cement. Please looks really good the stuff you guys are doing
We do indeed
Can you cut and polish GFRC edges?
Yes you can
Just wondering if you do any courses?
Yes we do! Check out our website.
What do you do when the sealant wears off? Do you need to re-sand then reseal?
Yes. A light sand and a coat of sealer is sufficient after a few years.
hi, thanks for video. Can you put link for wet dry sand paper discs? Thanks
Sure - we use these - amzn.to/3oAuaPI
Unfortunately I married a particularly unreasonable woman who objects to my using her beloved Kenwood Chef for mixing toxic chemicals. Any suggestions (or reassurance that it is completely safe to eat concrete sealer)?
Ha! Probably not wise to use that food mixer then. Amazon have handheld electric whisks for under £20 though. You could use that but I wouldn’t recommend using the whisks for food after that 👍🏻
