I’m not even kidding when i say this is the ONLY tote bag I’ve ever been excited about making!! Omg I love love love this so muchhh UPDATE: I bought the yarn immediately after watching this and it came yesterday! I’m almost finished :))
I saw this video within minutes of you posting it! I’m on a smiley face kick right now so I grabbed what 3mm Bobbiny cord I had. It was not braided & was hard to crochet with, so I went with a bulky yarn. The bag is completed and lined. I absolutely love it. Thank you so much for sharing your adorable design.
Hey! Just a suggestion you can slow the video down if it's too fast and use the pause button. That's what I learned to do as visual learner who was frustrated watching the videos on regular speed. (being a visual learner) It helps so much and I can do it as often as I need to.
@@patferguson3130 No problem. When you touch your screen on the phone there will appear something looks like a screw in the top right hand corner. Click that then click on playback it gives you a few playback speeds. Choose the one that sounds better for you. I started out with the slowest one lol. Happy crocheting ☺️🧶
Thank you! Lining the bag refers to sewing fabric to the interior of the finished bag. There are a few videos on TH-cam that demonstrate this process step by step.
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial🥰 I dont have macrame cotton cord right now and i have a bunch of poly yarn so i decide to make this for now .I love your voice so calming 🥰 new sub 🥰😚.My teens will love it aonmuch just hope to finish it sooner 🥰
Thank you for this amazing tutorial, I was wondering if you could recomend a cheaper altnernative for the bobbiny cord? Can I just buy any 3mm macrame cord? Thank you ❤
I am on the struggle bus with this circle, I wish you took a little more time to explain for beginners. If it looks ok, the number of stitches is off for me
I just made this lol. Its alot smaller because I have thinner yarn, but Im excited to test it on the yarns I just ordered. Thanks so much for the tutorial!
This is SO cute. The moment I saw the thumbnail I knew I wanted to make this into a tote bag, and I was so happy you showed how to do that! It’s so cute and unique. I instantly subscribed ❤️ Thank you for sharing this adorable and fun design!
what would change if i wanted to make a bag with just one larger smiley face, like the square but on a larger scale to create a tote bag that has one bigger smiley face on each side
You would need to make more rounds in the smiley face and then more rounds for the secondary color. How much depends on the size of bag you plan to make.
I’ve been on your blog looking for the detailed version of how to sew the purse together and the handles. I can only find another video telling me about a more detailed version. Wondering if you can send me the link
Here’s the link: www.yarnth3ory.com/post/tutorial-smiley-face-granny-square Scroll past the written instructions for the granny square and you will find the diagram for putting the squares together and information on creating the handles.
I seen that video but I thought maybe there was a detailed video to the way you sewed the purse together but I see it is written. I’m still a beginner so the videos always help me.
Does anyone know where to buy braided cotton cord? I'm in Canada and I can't find it anywhere. Amazon has twisted macrame cord - that's the closest thing I could find.

I am not a native speaker and mainly do amigurumis. Does the invisible join method also work with yarn under single crochets?

How many yarns of each colour did u use? And what size is ur stitch?
This information is listed in the video and also in the blog post at yarnTh3ory.com
Where did you get this specific yarn ? Every time I search, it shows macrame which I know will be a bit stiffer
I used brand Bobbiny. Searched for their 3mm braided cotton cord. You can buy it directly from them or from vendors on Etsy.
I saw the thumbnail and grabbed my rooms. Then the invisible stitching started and I put them back
The invisible join is not so bad! Once you learn it you learn it you will be good to go. There is a quick tutorial on my Instagram. Check it out! ❤️
