As an American it’s really fascinating to see foreigners react to the military that we take for granted. Keep up the great work! Love from Arizona 🌅🇺🇸 🇪🇪
What isn't talked about is the fact that the enemy will not even know the F35 is watching and the missile that kills him may not come from that aircraft. It may come from another platform. This is the American advantage we have had since the F14 Tomcat and it's Phoenix missile. Enemy aircraft will find themselves under attack before they get in range with their own weapons. The battle will be over and the enemy may have never come in visual contact with our aircraft. Can you imagine going against a squadron of F35's. How would you begin to combat this disparity. The answer to that problem is "don't start a fight you can't possibly win".
@@lif3andthings763 F35 is late, not overrated. It literally does all the shit they say it does. It's just not in the sky in combat effective numbers yet.

Usually, external loads caused drag in addition to the weight. But the F-22s and F-35s have their weapons stored internally which makes it to where the only detriment from it's "full" load would only be the weight. The F-35 was made in the Joint Strike Fighter program (JSF) and was meant to be used by all the branches of the US military. The F-35A for the airforce, the F-35B (the VTOL version and most expensive) for the Marine Corps, and the F-35C (more durable landing gear, line hook, and larger and foldable wings). There are also some export variants but for the most part, there's a large interest in the F-35B as it allows amphibious assault ships to become full-blown aircraft carriers. The cost per plane is as low as around $90 million USD (for the F-35A) with the most expensive variant (F-35B) being around $117 million USD, but the cost continues to lower as production ramps up and more partners join in. The F-35 capabilities is crazy, it can perform CAS, Air-superiority, act as an AWS aircraft, Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses and/or Destruction of Enemy Air Defense, can help friendly aircraft boost their radar range, lock range, and control missiles, various ECM methods, to list a few. Future use of the F-35 is to be used with the new F-15X in which the F-35 would use the more than 2 dozen missiles on the F-15X as it's ammo and guide those missiles on target.
The biggest issue posed by external weapons is the lack of stealth provided. The jet is meant to be stealthy on radar, and external weapon mounts aren't good for that.
Years ago Congress made it so that the US could not export the F-22. I know Israel and Japan were very interested in purchasing it. www.reuters.com/article/us-japan-usa-fighter-exclusive-idUSN2727861320070427

Only the Marine model (f-35...B? I think.) uses that capability. Then there is an airforce variant with wider wings and a Navy variant with shorter wings for Carrier launch. All have Thrust vectoring with their primary engine.
@@_flyingcat_7527 I might have it backwards. Been a while since I looked into it. I had it stuck in my head that they needed the shorter wings to maximize storage space on the carrier. But it could be that they needed the longer wings for the extra stability on take-off/landing and the Air force wanted the shorter wings for better maneuverability and dog fighting capability. Edit: looking into it, you are correct. They have longer wings that fold up at the tips for storage.
The F35 cannot take off vertically. The only time it was able to was as stripped down test model. Marine variant is STOVL (short take-off, vertical landing). Navy has larger wings, but the wing tips fold up to save space on the carrier. Air Force has neither of those features.

@D Hill Actually... the unit cost of the Raptor is $150 million ($334 million if you include the cost of R&D). As of August 2019, the unit cost of the F-35 is just under $80 million, but more than $1.5 trillion was spent on R&D. So it's both cheaper *and* more expensive. In the summer of 2017 our base held an air show for the local St. Louis suburban community. 250,000+ a day showed up. We were treated like royalty amongst the civilian population because we had berets, plate carriers, and M4s slung. We had several people directed to OSI because they were asking very specific questions about very specific parts..we detained and questioned at least 7 or 8 Asians who were spying. I’m telling you from experience, it’s bad ass, and every other nation wants in on the tech!!
Please do check out the b-2 spirit bomber, my grandmother and grandfather both worked on the first working model of the plane, my grandfather designed the main information bus for this, and my grandmother was one of the foremen directing the actual structural build for the plane.
I still have a special place in my heart for the F-14 Tomcat. And everyone suggesting the B-2 Spirit forgets its little brother, the F-117 Nighthawk. The original stealth fighter.
From what I understand, since the F-14 was retired in 2006, the U.S. Navy has been trying to ask that they be updated with the new radar and tracking systems and returned to service because we no longer have any aircraft for air to air combat roles. The F-22 and F-35 are multi role fighters that are primarily used for air to ground missions with some limited air to air capabilities and less maneuverability.
I love the F14, don’t forget the double ugly F4 (such I beautiful plane) but the f-117 and B-2 deserves a you vs the guy meme: F-117: you- F-22: the guy she tells you not to worry about- F-35: her brother- B-2: her father
@@thenewgunnertrw2025 No longer have aircraft for air to air combat... i'm sorry what? The F-22 (and F-35) are air superiority fighters, they were primarily designed with air-to-air combat in mind. The Tomcat was an incredible piece of tech in the 70s and 80s, and it's hands down one of the coolest fighters ever made. But trying to imagine an F-14 attempting to compete with modern fighters is an extreme case of nostalgia-fog. The radar was groundbreaking (in the 70s but not now), the flight control systems are antiquated, and modern advancements in aero engineering have rendered sweep-wings pretty much useless. Couple that with the fact that the F-22 has supremely better instantaneous and sustained turn rates, that the F-14 lost a lot of its maneuverability at higher speeds, and that the F-14 had a ton of flight restrictions due to mechanical limitations, and you are rooting for a lost cause here (especially when we start thinking about combat operations at high altitude). Is the F-14 cool? Abso-fucking-lutely, its an icon. But they were retired for a reason. It's severely outdated in every department at this point.
The f35 development costs more, but 1. The f22 is more expensive to produce plane for plane, the f22 costs more to both maintain and service pre and post flight

covrt - austin not saying your wrong on the problem part, honestly I don’t know how many problems it’s had recently. But on the 30 years ahead part, if that were true it would just be a drone :) And considering it’s been 16 years in production that only really gives it 14 years on that 30 years ahead. So basically half as much of a life span of some of our best fighter designs and airframes like the 14/15/16/18. Quick edit, for comparison... the F14 tomcat went through its production cycle in 18 months after Grumman won the bid. Which is an insane timeline.
Hey Artur! It might be helpful to note that while the F35 is an incredible multi-purpose aircraft and is certainly powerful, the older F22 is actually the more expensive of the two. F35 can do more in general, but the F22 has a smaller radar cross-sectional area and is built for the explicit purpose of being unbeatable in air to air combat. F22 production stopped early because it is expensive as hell, and also so capable that building more would have been pointless b/c there are no threats that could ever hope to beat it - so congress said "why waste the money?" It's said that the F22 will never be sold outside the US, b/c were such a terrible political situation to arise, the F22 is our defense against a potential enemy F35.
@@Deathvalleyherper A little bit of salt there, OP already said it's a niche fighters... Although it is not expected to be survivable against modern air defenses, the F-15 EX could serve in other roles such as homeland and airbase defense, enforcing no-fly zones against limited or no air defense systems, and delivering standoff munitions with the F-35 doing the targeting.
I think you might be confused with the F22 Raptor my friend, that one does cost around $150m i believe. The F35 is a cheaper craft and more effective all round, it is more versatile and better suited for different roles which is why it's a multi-role fighter. The F22 is the top-dog air superiority fighter around the world. The only country in the world that has the F22 is the U.S because they never exported it to other countries, because they worried about the tech falling into other countries' hands. The F22 is faster and stealthier than the F35 which is already a ninja by itself.
The price of the F-22 is not really a thing, because it's not on the market, and the market it what truly sets a price. Supply and demand determines the true price. Since the F-22 is not for sale under any circumstances, we have no idea what the market price would be.

@MAS It's not superior in *every* way. The F-35 is designed as a multirole aircraft. The F-22 is a specialized air-to-air fighter. The F-35 is superior to the F-22 when it comes to ground attack roles.

The F-35 entered production 10 years ago, will be in production until 2037, and is going to constantly be upgraded over the next few decades
@MAS That depends entirely on the role. The F-22 is intended as a dedicated interceptor, while the F-35 is a multirole aircraft. For a Combat Air Patrol (CAP)? The F-22 is better. The F-22 isn't even really designed to carry air-to-ground weaponry. Two JDAM guided bombs is its usual maximum. (It can carry four bombs at the cost of all its air-to-air missiles.) The F-35, when carrying external weapons, can carry six bombs and *still* carry four anti-aircraft missiles. So for Close Air Support and light bomber roles, the F-35 is better. Also, there's only 187 Raptors, and they can't operate off of carriers; they need fixed air bases. The F-35B (VTOL) and F-35C (Navy) can both operate off carriers.
@MAS I feel you bro, the F22 is a beast. Which is why I mentioned the bit about the US not exporting it. We have to have some kind of advantage and the F22 is it.
It isn't. The F-35 may not be as stealthy or maneuverable, but it doesn't need to be. Its electronics, sensor suite, and battlefield awareness put it miles ahead of the F-22- especially when attacking targets on the ground. An F-35's helmet literally allows the pilot to see through the fuselage. Bonus- we can build more F-35s. We can't replace F-22s.

Yeah the F-35 is a FIGHTER JET so like AIR TO AIR COMBAT and the Hog (Warthog/ A10) is an AIR TO GROUND jet that deals with ONLY GROUND FORCES, just like the AC-130
Flying one of these would be a dream. I plan on commissioning in the AF after graduating from college. I'm gonna have to work my ass off but it'll be worth it
Currently the F-35's two biggest weaknesses are not cost per say, its unit price is not much more than the latest F-18 and much less then the F-15 for example. It does have fairly high maintenance costs though and the networked system designed to ease replacement parts logistics failed completely. Readiness rates are not good right now. The other downside is its a hilarious level of overkill for the types of wars the US has actually been fighting. I get needing to be prepared for more powerful adversaries, but F-16's can do the same job for 1/5 the price long term... All that said, the F-35 is a beast. I would bet its a better air superiority fighter even compared to the F-22 if you average out all the various engagement scenarios. It has the superior sensors and its not that close
16 years is when the contract was first put out for competition. The development started from there for 2 planes, the one that would become the F-35, and the Boeing entry that was not purchased. So the blueprints aren’t 16 years old. That’s when the base requirements were posted. The request for companies to build something that will do this. And 16 years is astonishingly short from pentagon requirements to operational service. Most modern jet fighters take around 15-20 years. The development competition alone is 3-4 years of that. Also worth noting that 2019 was the best business year in Lockheed’s history. 6 months in 2020 looks to top it. US Allies have been unexpectedly upping orders. Especially for the F-35b Vertical take off version. Japan, Australia and a few others are converting their Helicopter Carriers to full blown strike carriers with them. Alongside the F-35b’s they are also ordering a bunch of the V-22 Osprey’s.
We can, because the banks of the whole world are in the U.S., and they print money whenever they want. The banks can't foreclose themselves, and when the banks own everything, (like they do) they can buy anything. The banks answer to no one. Not even countries. Once you learn this truth, you'll learn that the economy of the world is nothing but a huge farce to keep countries, and the people in check, while keeping the power and influence of the world to the 1%. Nothing more, nothing less.
Actually, because in the next 10 years, fully 40% OF ALL FIGHTER jets sold world wide will be F35's? (that is astounding - never occurred before), the quoted price of the next batch of F35's will be 77 million. Volume production means a MUCH lower cost. No other fighter jet will see production at ONE THIRD THE RATE! They expect to hit 200 per year. Right now, a Super F18 Hornet with options is quoted at 78 million - same price as the F35. This is like computer chips or anything else. You make software or Intel spends billions on a computer chip, but the cost of manufacturing is actually quite low. It really does not cost much more to make a F35 then other jets. With HUGE volume production? Not only will USA see these things sold around the world UK, Japan, Israel, Italy, Norway, Australia, South Korea, Demark, and a few more? Well, the F35 will have 40% of the market WORLD WIDE for the next 10 years - that means everyone ELSE From Russia, Europe etc. will fight over the 60% left over. For this video to state and suggest that the F35 will fail? Sorry, countries are lined up - and the USA will be cranking these things out for years to come. And at these prices? The plane represents the BEST deal, since no country was crazy enough to spend that much money or even HAS that kind of money to spend. But, once you spent the money, then it all just production - and that is the easy part.
The other thing, ..it did take a long time to develop, so imagine how long it would take for other countries to catch up? Some countries 5- 10 years, ..Hammer Industries 20 years. ;)

What isn't talked about is the fact that the enemy will not even know the F35 is watching and the missile that kills him may not come from that aircraft. It may come from
another platform. This is the American advantage we have had since the F14 Tomcat and it's Phoenix missile. Enemy aircraft will find themselves under attack before they
get in range with their own weapons. The battle will be over and the enemy may have never come in visual contact with our aircraft. Can you imagine going against a squadron

Depends on the mission, both the F-22 & F-35 can carry weapons externally when stealth is not a neccessity.
Kerbling Time the British devised a tactic of landing the aircraft on an aircraft carrier with full load still on the aircraft
Once the F-35 goes into Full Rate Production (FRP), you will see the cost these planes go down.
@@jordanelder321 Doesn't their new carrier (and one in construction) and the F-35s they bought accomplish this?

@@_flyingcat_7527 I might have it backwards. Been a while since I looked into it. I had it stuck in my head that they needed the shorter wings to maximize storage space on the carrier. @@135Fenrir only the F-22 has thrust vectoring. The F-35 does not.

F22 production stopped early because it is expensive as hell, and also so capable that building more would have been pointless b/c there are no threats that could ever hope to beat it - so congress said "why waste the money?"

The price of the F-22 is not really a thing, because it's not on the market, and the market it what truly sets a price. Supply and demand determines the true price. Since the F-22 is not for sale under any circumstances, we have no idea what the market price would be.
@@VyperByteX look it up bro. It costed us 300 million plus just to buy one raptor from Lockheed Martin. Its a 300 million dollar jet.
@@philipmcconkey2930 And that's still ignoring what I said entirely. They are they only ones who make it, we are the only ones who are allowed to have it. That doesn't constitute a market price, that just outlines the contract between the US Government and Lockheed. The F-22 has no market price, because it's not on the market.
@@VyperByteX you must live under a rock brah! The entire project of the F-22 costed around 69 billion to develop it. It costs 339 million to buy it roughly 275 million to build it. Lockheed is a private company that sells it our government.

my favorite fighter in ace combat. at least of the planes that actually exist.
mid game my favorite was the griffen, but the f-35 has my favored load out of the high end jets.

Just wait till the info about the F-52 gets declassified
You REALLLYY should react to the Lockheed SR 71 Blackbird. Its AMAZING.
Yes!
(Been using this account pic for years, btw!)
The only problem is that no one flies the Blackbird anymore. It was an excellent aircraft but it's not in service anymore.
This video was posted on the USA holiday Memorial Day, meant to remember all those US Servicemen who have been killed in action. God Bless America. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
I worked for a areospace company here in va that made these parts the industry is always booming and pay is good and I was mind blown at the process it takes from start to finishing machining these parts
F22 Raptors cost way more think. On top of that I believe we don't export F22 raptors. I feel like the F22 is on par with the F35 if not better.
@MAS It's not superior in *every* way. The F-35 is designed as a multirole aircraft. The F-22 is a specialized air-to-air fighter. The F-35 is superior to the F-22 when it comes to ground attack roles.
@MASThe F-22 is outstanding if you want to shoot down other aircraft, good if you want to suppress enemy air defenses, excellent at collecting intelligence, outstanding at providing situational awareness to other F-22s, and good at providing situational awareness to other aircraft.
The F-35 is outstanding of you want to shoot down other aircraft, outstanding if you want to blow up stuff on the ground, outstanding if you want to suppress enemy air defenses, outstanding at collecting intelligence, outstanding at providing situational awareness to other F-35s, and excellent at providing situational awareness to the rest of your air/land/sea forces.
The F-22 ended production 10 years ago, we will never build any more, and has little ability to be upgraded.
Do a video on the US navy’s new “rail gun” mounted on ships and the “laser weapons system” they’re straight outta Sci-Fi movies
He already did.
He already has, I think its titled like "futuristic weapons of the US" or something like that
This man connects everything to call of duty and I love it!
It’s nice to hear people from other countries be thankful for the United States 🇺🇸 being a protector of them.So many people show so much disrespect toward us and don’t realize how vulnerable they would be if they had no allies to ASSiST them. You are a proud country, with strong fighters but that isn’t enough sometimes. And I also appreciate you pointing out all the things about the United States 🇺🇸 military power, positive and negative. An honest look at things is the only way to truly understand what the benefits can be.God Bless you and your country 🇪🇪.
Can we just talk about how Arthur started TH-cam by making music
The difference in price of the export planes is they don’t have all the bells and whistles of the American versions.....we have to protect certain technologies.
😂 “Russia and China you go away, you go to the moon, you don’t have any business here on earth anymore”
Unfortunately, only the USA has ever done that as well.
And the u.s spaceforce would be in space as well

Hi
Hello
Love the state point thing and love the music lol keep it up man.
The F-35B (Marine Corps variant) is the definition of "Loaded for bear." Hard points for external ordnance such as missiles, rocket pods, and bombs, a 25mm gun pod mounted on the belly, and an internal weapons bay.
Yess I’ve been waiting for this
Btw as Australians actually have like 72 give or take F-35’s
Also you should react to the American stealth bomber, it’s like a wide triangle shape but I think you’d love to react to ot
Cool! Do your pilots hate it as much as American A-10 pilots do?
@Kurogane 556 The Hog has its use, sure. But the airforce wanted something better, a successor, but congress denied it
@Kurogane 556 I tought the Hog was only good a bullying (more like tearing to shreds) ground force once there is no more AA or enemy fighter jets?
Don't get me wrong, this thing is fucking awesome but i tought it was outdated for a long time now.
Yeah the F-35 is a FIGHTER JET so like AIR TO AIR COMBAT and the Hog (Warthog/ A10) is an AIR TO GROUND jet that deals with ONLY GROUND FORCES, just like the AC-130
Also, the RAAF ( Royal Australian Air Force) has acquired 72 F-35A’s and it will decide wether to acquire another 28 in the next decade
That was a pretty bad video to react to, haha.
These types of reactions are awesome!
Flying one of these would be a dream. I plan on commissioning in the AF after graduating from college. I'm gonna have to work my ass off but it'll be worth it
Good luck!

Yo I was in your stream the other day, really enjoyed!
"America, how can you afford this?"
we can't.
Laughs in trillions of dollars of debt
@@lazypotatoes9844 maybe but they're still sitting at the table eating with golden spoons
lazy potatoes the debt isn’t actually a problem and right now does not hurt the United States in any way

Love the video, greetings from France!
If anyone has questions, Anthony is a Nickname I got from a U.S friend online, I talk to them to this day.
At $80 million it’s becoming a bargain seeing that an f-18 super hornet is $70.5 million.
I have NEVER been this early
Be an organ and marrow donor ASAP and adopt and donate to bed nets
The other thing, ..it did take a long time to develop, so imagine how long it would take for other countries to catch up?
Some countries 5- 10 years, ..Hammer Industries 20 years. ;)
China has stolen F22 and F35 technology. They don't have to develop much. They are leaders in cyber theft.

Artur, I'm happy you are an Estonian patriot. People should be proud of their heritage and their country.
My father was one of the chief quality acceptance engineers on the f22 and f35 projects. He was the last one the authorize the release of the aircraft to the military. He is now retired from Lockheed skunkworks, and now he is senior engineer for NASA working on SLS.
You should react to the Boeing osprey ( helicopter plane thing) :)
It takes years, and sometimes decades for the bureaucracy of the US military to workout, approve, and actually build new weapons systems.
"America how can you afford this?" America: just add a few billion more to the debt thats how lol
So thats not really how the debt works....it's actually like an ingenious fixed mortgage that pays for itself over time simply by the US targeting inflation of the US dollar to increase higher than the interest rate on the debt
Trillion at this point.
If you owe the bank a million dollars, the bank owns you. If you owe the bank a trillion dollars, you own the bank.
@@thezombiepotato1 thanks for the info

F-35 price is now $78 million a copy versus $105.7 million - Eurofighter Typhoon, $76.4 million - Su-35 Flanker-E, $79.8 million - F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, $93.6 million - Dassault Rafale, these other fighters are some of the best but the F-35 is cheaper than most per unit and it is very stealthy.
Thank you for your great content Artur! I have a story for you: My family takes in long distance hikers from the Pacific Crest Trail (good video to do, the PCT) and a couple years ago we picked a girl up a few hours away with an injury. At first my mom thought she was Russian and said "if she is ill kick her out of the car" (she grew up during the cold war). It came up that she was Estonian! She spent a month here and was the sweetest girl we have had! At the same time she was TOUGH! We talk alot still and have plans to see eachother again soon. I have to say because of that I will always be fond of Estonians:)

Norway has buyed 54 f-35. Its very laught cuz i live in the only air military air-forst in Norway
F-22 raptor I’m just gonna keep saying it til it happens
I think the weaknesses are networking capabilities and reliance on satellites. That's why Space Force is so important in order to protect our satellites. Get's complicated fast.
the key difference in the price in the video and the higher one you have seen is one is sticker price i.e. what it cost to get the plane. and the other is life cycle price that includes all repairs and maintenance for the life of the airframe
20:1 makes one overlook a lot of flaws...
