    I love your videos Ben, you've helped me to learn alot in only a few days of being subscribed.
    My husband and I lost our jobs earlier this year and decided to start our own business flipping appliances from home. We've only been at it for a couple of months but the volumes of information I've learned in that short amount of time will stay with me my whole life. Thank you so much from NW Ohio

    Thanks!! Nice informative video. I bought a new Samsung dryer and my vent hose and filter are all clean and new!! My dryer was working great and seemed to dry my clothes quickly but I notice when drying my comforter it doesn't seem to dry completely even though I have it on high heat / sensor dry setting. Is that because comforters are harder to dry completely? Would it be better for me to dry it on high heat using the timer on the dryer ? (40 or 60 minutes)

  • @m3rdpwr
    @m3rdpwr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Also, don't forget that Samsung dryers can have those sensors in front of the lint trap. My dryer was shutting off after 2 minutes of running. Turns out a fabric softener sheet, was plastered against the inner edge and blocking the metal contacts from coming in contact with the wet clothes.

    Just throwing my hat into the ring. My exhaust port on outside of the house had a flap door, and. aplastic lint grate - well, the grate's 2 rear plastic nubs were snapped off, so "seating" it in the rear portion was just guesswork. Well, my grate was too high (again, the rear nubs couldn't snap in due to being missing), and it blocked the flap door from opening. I was having to run the dryer 3-4 times to get a load dry. SOME air would escape the flap which is why it somewhat worked. We also had condensation on the metal exhaust hose, again due to lack of ventilation. Thx for this video - i went outside to check more than just the plastic grate - and discovered the flap door was blocked.

    • @thelaibon
      @thelaibon 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mahalnabayanko7454 water condenses on the pipe because the hot air has nowhere to go bc it’s clogged - therefore it results in condensing on the pipe and eventually drips to floor. Surely there is a beginning and end to pipe even if the middle is between walls. Gotta shove a long duster thing in there. I had a long 8’ duster meant to extend really long so you can dust ceilings and high places. Use that. Shove it in there and twist around

    4th Thing...A defective Cycling Thermostat.
    A defective cycling thermostat will cause the heating element to turn off before it reaches 135 - 155 degrees.
    At room temperature (70 degrees), a dryer's heating element should stay on for at least 30 seconds before it cycles off.
    If the dryer's heating element turns on, then turns off in less then 20 seconds, replace the Cycling Thermostat.

    you forgot to point out another great reason not drying: the drum seal is old and worn down and you can see light though it at the bottom of the drum in the very back, now this is a common problem i see a lot, it will let in cold air and temp will be very low. i think the hot air is also leaving the drum with lint and adding up into the cabinet area and there is you fire hazard Mr.Ben... it took me many years to figure how is so much lint getting to the cabinet??? it is loose fitting drum seals and what is worst is the presser air pushing out the lint between the weak seal of the drum into the cabinet because the plugged up venting that has a restriction in it from lint build up or worst to many 90 degree bens in it for each 90 degree ben it will lose i think 5 degrees of temperature i think that is right or something like that, to many 90 degrees bens is a killer and a long run ducting is a killer you will need a inline blower pusher fan. i have seen those in condominiums forcing exhaust air out long distances... just say`n

    Question. When the tech came in to clean it (from the HVAC Co), he said the dryer vent cleaning tool couldn't work because of the angle of the vent (goes up to the roof!). He actually borrowed our leaf blower. However, things are still not drying. I'm not sure if the kit you mentioned is the same as the one he tried to use. Can you think of any other way I could try to clean it? Thanks,

    Make sure you secure the sections of the dryer kit with tape or something that will prevent them from pulling apart. If you have a long run from the duct in the laundry room to the outside vent, trying to remove a section that came apart is going to be a problem for sure.
